Finemondo was the answer! First of all, they allow an OpenTable reservation for one when other restaurants in the area would not. Secondly, they treated me like I was the only patron the room (which was far from the case). I had a wonderful meal, enjoyed a great bottle of wine and stayed long enough to experience their wonderful desserts. It was a great place with delicious food! The service was a little slow but we didn't mind. They have a fantastic discount on wine on Saturday nights- which I thought was rare. All bottles were 25% off and select bottles were 50% off. (They had a large selection of wines to choose from.) Food was delicious and served with vegetables. Calamari salad was excellent. Stuffed meatloaf is not something you usually find on a menu, and it was outstanding. We were intrigued by an appetizer on the menu -- calamari "meatballs" -- and ordered that along with Ragu of beef over polenta. Both were delicious! Our main dishes: orrechietti con pesche and sun-dried tomatoes, cappellachi, a ravioli-like pasta stuffed with butternut squash and amaretti cookies, and Tuscan braised short ribs in a chianti sauce. All 3 dishes were flavorful, especially the Tuscan braised short ribs -- the meat was so tender it just fell apart. The portions are ample and served hot. And the wait staff is attentive but not overbearing. Also, I would mention that Finemondo's wine list has a nice variety of Italian wines. The wait staf was very patient, helpful, and friendly. We tried a couple of the mozarella salads and the mussels for appetizers, and all were excellent. I had a fine Chicken Piccatta, and other dishes ordered included the minestrone, eggplant parmiggiana, and Ravioli. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and the cannoli for dessert was top notch. The atmosphere was great especially for a Friday night... Not too loud or crowded. The food was delicious, the service attentive... The menu had many options to choose from.. and still they were very accommodating to making my dinner to my liking..( i'm not a big butter or creamy sauce eater). The waiter steered me away from making a bad choice of a sweeter dish with red sauce, not a good combo.. The second option was just delightful.
