A word from Finch & Fork: Corner Grill Cocktails
Finch & Fork is a Modern American Bar and Grill centrally located on the corner of Carrillo and Chapala streets in the heart of Santa Barbara’s vibrant downtown. Chef James Siao draws inspiration from the vibrant local ingredients located in the area including local fishers, farmers and ranchers to craft an ingredient driven menu of delectable social plates and soul satisfying larger plates all meant to be served with artisanal wines, craft cocktails and great beers in the warm embrace of our convivial bar and dining room.

Finch & Fork’s bar program focuses on cocktails that are fresh, light and approachable. Santa Barbara’s most forward thinking mixologists; work their magic on clear spirit classics like the Moscow Mule and Bramble but also pay homage to the whisky classics like the Manhattan and Build Your Own Smash- you name the fresh fruit, the spirit and we build it in a mason jar at your table.

Diner Reviews
  • "Service was parralled by the excellent service. 6 of us with ide array of menu preferences, were all really happy. If the buttermilk fried chicken is on the menu, don't miss it. I could have kept ordering the oysters on the half shell all night. The deviled egg appetizer we ordered seconds of! Salads great, mac n'cheese rich and smokey. Perfect portion size, didn't walk out feeling as though we needed a nap! "

  • "We booked from open table from a cruise ship based on Open Table Reviews. We were not disappointed. After walking from the pier, we received a friendly greeting and sat at a lovely booth by the window. The ambiance is old world, dark wood and leather. The wine list carries a reason assortment of local as well as broader vintages. Our Savignon Blanc was from Santa Barbara County. The flavorful deviled eggs were incredible. The house made Butternut Bisque was creamy and irresistible. My Seared Ahi Tuna on Quinoa was very fresh and seasoned to perfection. When visiting Santa Barbara. This restaurant is a must!"

  • "My husband and I went to have dinner before a play. Enjoyed a tasty Finch & Fork signature cocktail before dinner, then shared a leisurely appetizer and salad before we each had our main course. Have to say the pear salad was really nice, and my pork ribs were amazing. The service was wonderful -- they allowed us time to enjoy each course, and recommended perfect wine pairings. Also, in the restaurant seating area, although there were people at all the tables around us, we could still sit across the table from each other and talk without yelling or straining to hear. The evening was the most relaxing (and tasty) we've had a restaurant in a long time. Would recommend Finch & Fork to everyone!"

  • "We were looking to try somewhere different & decided to try F&F, mostly enticed by the 1000 points! I reviewed the comments of others & we decided to try the most recommended items...the deviled eggs starter were unique & delicious, you have to ask for bread, but it came hot & delicious, nice touch came with it, a jar of pickled veggies...we both had the Sunday night special, slow roasted prime rib, served just as we had requested, med/well, however very juicy, with mashed potatoes, fresh green peas & fabulous popovers! The chef came out to greet us after we told Evan, our server, this prime rib was far superior to the one at Lucky's, which we have enjoyed on many occasions! ALMOST felt guilty taking the 1000 points! Thank you Open Table!"

  • "Had a group of 6 people, including 4 vegetarians and one gluten free. Restaurant had no problem altering dishes to suit out needs. And the food was awesome!"

  • "Finch and a Fork is quickly becoming one of our favorite Santa Barbara Restaurants. Comfortable seats, unique complimentary pickled veggies instead of bread and well prepared entrees. The waiters are knowledgeable and I especially enjoyed the carrot cake for dessert."

  • "We had the most amazing dinner for our Anniversary. We had been hearing about this place and we thought we would give it a try. Being a local, it sure felt good to have the staff welcome us with open arms. The food and drinks were so good! and the staff was so wonderful and fun. We will tell all the locals about this Neighborood Gem!"

  • "We went specifically for the Tuesday night special of Buttermilk Batter Fried Chicken. It was delicious. We never eat fried food but we were told that this was worth it and we were not disappointed. It came along with some mashed potatoes. We have eaten at this restaurant 2 other times and both times the food was great. I would highly recommend the Finch & Fork to anyone. There is a bar in the front of the restaurant which is always busy with a lot of people between 25-40."

  • "Husband & I had an excellent dinner. Prime rib was the special for dinner & was tender & generous portion. My husband had ribs & said they were very good. We started with the deviled eggs which were delicious & very original in preparation. We ordered the flat bread which was the size of a small pizza & really tasty. The service by David was impeccable & made our dining a real pleasure. I highly recommend Finch & Fork!"

  • "Our server was friendly without being cloying, very professional and personable. My friend and I both had the kale and chicken salad and it was wonderful!"

  • "Not sure why the restaurant can't provide better service. They've been in business for a number of years (under many different hotel owners), but they can't seem to ever get their act together. The food was very good, but the poor service left a bad taste in my mouth."

  • "We'd been to this location when it was another restaurant and it wasn't very good. I made the reservation based on the 1,000 point offering and the menu, not realizing it was the same spot we'd been to years ago. It's in the Kimpton Hotel and they've done wonders to the place, it's a very cool vibe and the service is great. We were a group of four and stuck to cocktails and small plates. Delicious and creative offerings, and the cocktails are all craft using quality ingredients. We met the "mixologist" and he takes great pride in his creations. We'll definitely be back!"

  • "Everything was so enjoyable and the staff - from Executive Chef to food runners - made sure that customer satisfaction and enjoyment is a top priority. Go . . . and do yourself a favor by arriving early to have a drink at the bar and then do not miss the opportunity to order the deviled eggs. Friday night seafood pot pie is a must try for seafood/shellfish lovers."

  • "My date and I really enjoyed our fist visit to Finch and Fork. Went there for brunch on a rainy Sunday and enjoyed warming up in the spacious feeling dining room with bottomless mimosas, and starting with sharing the roasted cauliflower skillet. My date enjoyed his egg dish, while I loved my yummy chicken and kale salad with feta cheese and roasted pine nuts. Also appreciated the friendly service. ...and look forward to going back!"

  • "I am a Santa Barbara local and have been to many of the area dining establishments. Very nice surprise of a dinner. I had the sirloin and it was cooked perfectly and was flavorful. The wait staff was good but a bit distracted at times. It did not ruin the evening but left us guessing about what was happening a time or two. The food they brought was very goo. Even the desert (chocolate mousse) was nice, I would recommend the F&F to a friend or take out of town guests here."

  • "We took our friends for a birthday brunch celebration at Finch and Fork and had a wonderful experience. Even though we are all Santa Barbara locals none of us had ever been here for a meal. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and the service was excellent. The birthday girl enjoyed herself and felt pampered by our waiter. We will definitely be back!"

  • "The food was good, not great. The service was fine, not delightful. The atmosphere was noisy and bar-like throughout the whole restaurant. Our table of 6 could barely hear each other, and we were out of the main room. It was fine, but not worth raving about."

  • "Finch and Fork definitely had some interesting items on the menu and the food was very good. The service was mostly good, because while our waiter was a little slow at times, the hostess jumped in to help speed up the process when needed. The booth seating is very nice and comfortable. The only negative that we found was that due to the high ceilings and the "community tables" in the middle of the dining room, the noise level can get high enough to beign to interfere with conversation."

  • "The food was delicious and ambience was very elegant. The service was slow, possibly due to a full house. We loved everything, except pickled veggies (their version of bread) - a little too strong."

  • "Having just arrived as hotel guests and a little past our usual dining time, we were looking for just a little something to eat, drink. We had that - plus really good food, excellent friendly service, some good local wine. We'll be back!"

  • "I took 2 friends to lunch Monday the 23rd Feb. Both were delighted as was I.. I had the chicken/fig sandwich.. amazing good, what't the name of that great cheese? . We started with the devil eggs. Lovely. My guests ordered the Lamb burger, and the F and F burger. Both enjoyed the dishes with delightful comments. Quiet for lunch, wonderful. Jason gave great service. The Virgin Mary's lovely. Went back on the 24th, ordered the F And F burgers. Good but not as excellent as Monday. Meat too dry. Not juicy -- ordered medium. Oh well. We got the carrot and pickles Tuesday but not Monday. Used Axxess Card both days."

  • "We had an asparagus starter that was amazing, our dinner was good but not great. Our deconstructed carrot cake and cream cheese ice cream was amazing and we had a great bottle of wine. The service was outstanding. i would recommend, but our main dishes were not 5 star"

  • "Great food, service, and ambiance. We went for a special occasion, but looks like they have lots of great deals all week so we'll be back soon. A lot of local wine varieties available. The Saturday lasagna was delicious!"

  • "Santa Barbara is a foodie's paradise and competition is keen. F&F has wonderful ambiance--including the Canary Hotel --and is a definite plus for hotel food. But there are just too many places close by that outrank it in the food department. Asking for bread--3 times--and being given 5 tiny pieces of not-fresh roll? When we are basically having soup, salads and fish? Is the chef annoyed that we asked for bread as an accompaniment? Asking for tea--twice--in addition to the wine and beer that were brought promptly? The salad ingredients were fresh and well-presented. The tuna was seared to the correct depth. The chicken was definitely freshly-grilled. The food was good but lacked the touches that make it memorable."

  • "Delicious, inventive, flavorful dishes that are just the right size. We had the ahi bahn mi, on the recommendation of our server, and it was delicious, especially when paired with one of their gin cocktails. The burratta appetizer was really good, and the steak salad was perfect with their fig-infused bourbon Old Fashioned."

  • "Visited this place with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. We made a reservation; we recommend doing this as it was pretty busy. We were promptly seated. We ordered the chef's menu, which came with 3 delicious courses. The charred octopus was notably tender and tasty. I enjoyed the barramundi. It sounds like I am a frutti di mare kind of guy but I really am not! It pays to order seafood when at a nice restaurant such as Finch & Fork, apparently. The wait staff was quite kind, an the service was prompt but not intrusive. We didn't order alcohol. We saw some groups dining together and it looked spacious and fun for them. The live music was a bit loud but not so loud that it made conversation unbearable. Would highly recommend!"

  • "A great restaurant with no pretentiousness! Plain great food at moderated prices, nice ambiance, a bit noisy, but vibrant! ... they could use a live act or something ... just exceptional work from the beginning pickled vegetables to the amazing entrees and great desserts! A+"

  • "It's attached to the Canary Hotel which is completely dog friendly--I would highly recommend hotel to people who travel with their dogs. Or people like me who have and love dogs, but don't travel with them. As for restaurant, food was good. Breakfast we had lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberries--yummy. Dinner we had short ribs which were great. Very friendly and helpful bartender and wait staff."

  • "This was our second time having dinner there in 2 weeks. The food has been consistently good and seemingly upholding "farm to table" freshness. I had the deviled eggs followed by the seabass, which was excellent. The service this time appeared a little overwhelmed, but was appropriate in that they acknowledge so and bought us dessert. We will most definitely return."

  • "Visiting from San Francisco for the weekend. We really enjoyed F&F. Drinks, appetizers and mains were super. I tried the pork ribs and they were quite different and very special. Service was great, and we thought F&F very good value for the $$ We're happy to recommend Finch and Fork."

  • "We hadn't been to the restaurant at the Canary Hotel (formerly Hotel Andalucia) for quite a while as the food and service had been mediocre at best for several years since the hotel first opened. The food was quite good though the menu itself could still use some improvement. Service is more professional and the atmosphere is buzzing. One long time problem are the booth tables. They are too high and too wide, making it very difficult to sit down and are very tight. It would take very little to remedy this problem. We did enjoy our dinner and we'll go back in a few months to see if it still keeps improving."

  • "We were served an oliveless martini, the incorrect flatbread pizza and the wrong soup. Soon after we sat down an extremely loud party was seated near us and for the remainder of the meal we had to shout to hear each other. The food was well prepared but the service was sloppy and the noise level unpleasant."
