A word from Finch & Fork: Corner Grill Cocktails
Finch & Fork is a Modern American Bar and Grill centrally located on the corner of Carrillo and Chapala streets in the heart of Santa Barbara’s vibrant downtown. Chef James Siao draws inspiration from the vibrant local ingredients located in the area including local fishers, farmers and ranchers to craft an ingredient driven menu of delectable social plates and soul satisfying larger plates all meant to be served with artisanal wines, craft cocktails and great beers in the warm embrace of our convivial bar and dining room.

Finch & Fork’s bar program focuses on cocktails that are fresh, light and approachable. Santa Barbara’s most forward thinking mixologists; work their magic on clear spirit classics like the Moscow Mule and Bramble but also pay homage to the whisky classics like the Manhattan and Build Your Own Smash- you name the fresh fruit, the spirit and we build it in a mason jar at your table.

  • "I am surprised to see "Cocktails" in the restaurant's name, and assume the bar-scene crowd is their target market. However, I dined recently with my teenage daughter who happens to be vegetarian, and we both enjoyed our meals immensely, so its not just for the cocktail crowd. Big thumbs up!"

  • "Our visit was on 9-22-2014 at 6:15pm. We waited 45 minutes after grabbing a drink for happy hour, than one of the gal in our group went to speak to the Manager whom took our order, and never to return, the waitress show up once to refill our water, and then just to give us our bill which is got the all our bill wrong. I would not recommend this restaurant and plan on call the Manager this week to complaint about service. I order the duck breast it was dry and the meat was hard, at this point I wasn't going to order something else or I would have been there another 45-1hr waiting for my dinner."

  • "We consider ourselves foodies and I thought this would be a great place for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. I had previously had brunch here with my mom and sister and it was great. Dinner...not so much. The service was sub par for the price (go to the Lark instead) and the portions weren't just small, they were miniscule. I won't pay $30 for a grand total of 4 scallops. I wanted to love this place - the apps were good, brunch was fun, but they really don't impress at dinner time."

  • "We had a fantastic family dinner here. Food was fresh, well seasoned and very tasty. I had heard good things about the restaurant and was very pleased. There was an excellent variety of meals to choose from, each person all had different entrees and everyone seemed to pleased with their selection. Our server Curtis was very well informed, answered all our questions, and made excellent suggestions. Would recommend the restaurant and will come back again. It's not often I get to enjoy something so delicious."

  • "Have eaten dinner at Finch and Fork 5 times this year. Every time they have gone above and beyond to make sure our group was completely happy. Not that we've ever had to request a fix, because they get everything right the first time. Service is just right: prompt, professional, unintrusive. Atmosphere: a gem! It's attractive, comfortable, and rare for Santa Barbara: it's QUIET for dining, yet lively at the nearby bar! Food is farm-fresh, perfectly prepared, beautifully presented. My only quibble is that it's a bit pricey to make a regular habit for lunch, where I'd expect lower prices. I would love to pop in for lunch with friends regularly, but can't afford. But it's my go-to for special nights, and so convenient for downtown activities."

  • "My girl loved the Tuesday fried chicken special. My duck was the best I have ever had. It was super tender and the creamy almond sauce was amazing. Our server was very knowledgeable, and this actually made it hard to order since he had so many great recommendations. Drinks were fantastic also. The Hawaiian Honeycreeper comes out lit on fire, and they had a few spicy drinks that I enjoyed."

  • "The food was intriguingly prepared & delivered on par! A welcoming menu of authentic American contemporary cuisine. The ambiance was "sophisticated beach"- perfect for downtown Santa Barbara! This establishment has great potential to become a staple, but a few adjustments would enhance the experience. First, it was awhile before anyone came over to our table to greet us after being seated. Once greeted, it wasn't with "Welcome to Finch & Fork may I interest you in a cocktail, wine or other beverage?" Instead more like, "What are we drinking?". Our waiter, while he warmed up to be quite nice, had an odd demeanor. Upon leaving, we noticed our table was actually quite filthy as our napkins revealed. Overall a strong B with A potential."

  • "don't get booth backed up to bar height chairs, bar is cool, bartenders very good drinks very good. flat bread items a pleasant surprise, salads very good fresh ingredients. roast pork stew dish unusual very filling and tasty. 2 diners ordered it and both like it. $34 Ribeye should come off the menu, too fatty, bad texture and substance, sloppy. Great location downtown SB definitely a repeat. Good service and attitude."

He was clueless. And it was annoying that he recommended the most expensive entrees on the menu! There's a huge gap between the chef's exceptional skills and the service on the floor. It is nice to be able to get into a restaurant centrally located downtown without a week's prior reservation (although ours was an early seating which undoubtedly helped). Anyway, quite pleasant, we will return. There is a nightly dinner special; Thursdays is the "pork & cork". I've had it twice and it has been good both times & they throw in the glass of wine."

  • "This was my first time dining at this restaurant. The decor was modern and tasteful, the service was very good. My server was attentive and pleasant. I had the special grilled cheese sandwich that had a bit too much cheese, could have used a little onion or tomato, some garnish on the plate. It was paired with soup and I asked for the spinach soup which was amazing, quite delicious. I wandered around the lovely hotel and everyone was so nice, especially Ben the bartender. It was so perfect. I will be back for sure!"

  • "Inside the Canary Hotel, but it's not hotel food. Small menu but very good selection and I wanted to try everything. We settled on the smoked trout deviled eggs, yummy and the rib-eye was big enough for two people. My wife got the pork cheek gnocchi, outstanding. Would definitely recommend."

The restaurant was filled with singles and groups of people dressed in business attire, and it clearly was a favorite meeting place. The food was good, but the servers clearly catered to the other groups, which meant our service suffered. I would not go again but would recommend it if you were in the appropriate age group."

  • "We had lunch in the bar on a Thursday and the food, drinks and service was wonderful! Especially the bartenders - friendly, helpful, funny and just great guys. So we went back for brunch on Sunday, ate in the dining room and the food and drinks were great! The service was not good - we were told the bartender had to go downstairs, so it took a really long time to get our drinks. The waitress forgot our water repeatedly and my friend had to go to the bar to get her second bottomless mimosa. On the other hand they comp-ed our drinks for the inconvenience - without us having to ask. I highly recommend."

  • "Finch & Fork was a delightful surprise. It was a busy Saturday night when we visited, but service was prompt and professional. I felt well fed and cared for. We had pork ribs, a steak and asparagus with bacon vinaigrette with a fried egg on top. Everyone in our party was more than satisfied with the portions and the flavors. We will certainly return. Ask for the main dining room; that's where I'll be next time. We were seated in a front room, to the side of the maitre d' stand, and it felt a little coffee-shopee so I want to see if the main room feels nicer. Otherwise, no complaints for Finch & Fork"

  • "This is a very charming resturant that is part of a hotel. The food and service were very good. We stated out with wild mushroom flatbread, I had the trout and my wife had the risotto. Everything was great. My only complaint was that my glass of Cabernet was a little off. Maybe been opened little to long. This was my fault because they came back to the table a least 3 time and asked how everything was. I would go definatly go back."

  • "We were very disappointed. On Wednesday we both ordered the daily special thinking that bouillabaisse would hit the spot after an eight hour-long-day's journey. To begin we shared the grilled asparagus. The temperature of the food was luke-warm. When the temperature of the bouillabaisse was also luke-warm with little flavour we both gave up. Neither of us finished the dish. Dessert was delicious."

  • "This restaurant has some great choices for dinner. We LOVED the hush puppies (which far too few California restaurants serve). The scallops were fabulous. And the Mac N Cheese - well, I think everyone goes crazy for their recipe. It is exceptional. My only complaint is that the restaurant is NOT an intimate setting. Rather, it is surprisingly large. And, at 7PM on a Friday night, the noise level from the bar area was a bit distracting for dinner conversation. The staff was terrific, though; great service. And we did enjoy our dinner very much. Would go again for those hush puppies alone."

  • "Went here because I wanted to and because I have the Axxess card. Buy one, get one at dinner was nice. I had a steak and my mother had the scallops. Both were excellent. The smashed baked potato with my steak was incredible. We also got olives and a jar of quick pickled stuff. My mom also had the strawberries and cream dessert. She said it was the best part of the meal. Everything was great and I would recommend with or w/o Axxess card."
