A word from Finch & Fork: Corner Grill Cocktails
Finch & Fork is a Modern American Bar and Grill centrally located on the corner of Carrillo and Chapala streets in the heart of Santa Barbara’s vibrant downtown. Chef James Siao draws inspiration from the vibrant local ingredients located in the area including local fishers, farmers and ranchers to craft an ingredient driven menu of delectable social plates and soul satisfying larger plates all meant to be served with artisanal wines, craft cocktails and great beers in the warm embrace of our convivial bar and dining room.

Finch & Fork’s bar program focuses on cocktails that are fresh, light and approachable. Santa Barbara’s most forward thinking mixologists; work their magic on clear spirit classics like the Moscow Mule and Bramble but also pay homage to the whisky classics like the Manhattan and Build Your Own Smash- you name the fresh fruit, the spirit and we build it in a mason jar at your table.

I recently dined at Finch & Fork while staying at the Canary hotel in Santa Barbara. The restaurant and bar is located on the property, and I couldn't pass up the convenience. My server was especially attentive and offered some great suggestions for dining. The negroni cocktail I started the evening with was fabulous, and judging from the energetic pulse of the bar adjactent to the restaurant, the bartender is very skilled. My ribeye steak dinner was perfectly portioned and deftly prepared (they had me at chimichurri). There are a lot of wonderful dining and lounge options in the State Street area; I recommend Finch and Fork, they provide the quality of experience that I've come to expect from Kimpton hotel restaurants.

Last Tuesday I had lunch here, again. Sixth time in as many weeks. Creative, flavorful dishes coupled with the quiet, classy atmosphere make this place one of my local favorites. Add well poured cocktails and prompt service, and this place is certainly a winner. Will be back!

I have eaten at Finch and Fork about 10 times. Every time: awesome food and superb, professional service. They are all about making the dining experience special, while not driving you nuts with over-attentive service. Not once have I had an issue with anything ordered. Lovely, lovely food, perfectly prepared. This was the first time I was slightly bothered by the noise level, but it was prime time on a Friday night. Typically, this is not an issue. They manage to be elegant and not stuffy at the same time. Everyone around us seemed to be having a great time.

We went here for a late night dinner as well as Sunday brunch during a recent trip staying at The Canary. The dinner options seemed tastier and the artisan cocktails were amazing according to my fiance. For brunch, we tried the F&F burger and the pulled pork breakfast burrito. The burrito was not my favorite, a little bland and soggy, but the burger was incredible. We got the Sticky Toffee Cake for dessert which was the best part of the meal. The service was a little sub-standard for a hotel restaurant of that caliper.

We (my husband and I) decided to try this restaurant for a pre-concert dinner after reading so many glowing reviews. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. Excellent cocktails paired with the amazing deviled eggs and blistered pepper to start the meal - we also managed to polish off two jars of the complementary pickles. The ribeye and duck main courses were perfectly cooked and the portions were perfect - left just enough room for dessert! We loved the milkshake and creme brulee, although the milkshake was clearly the standout (really delicious and different). The service was friendly, helpful, quick, and just attentive enough. We're already thinking about when we can go again!

Recently made our first visit to Finch & Fork for a special occasion (b-day dinner for my 20 year old foodie/son). We picked it based on reviews and it did not disappoint. We all loved everything and yes, the milkshake was a hit! We tried just about everything on the menu and it was all great. I'd highly recommend giving it a go!

The lavender crème brulee was excellent. The berries were very tasty. We were a party of six for a work birthday lunch. Our waitress was adorable and made good recommendations. It took too long to order and get food. The lamb burger was bland. The chicken was dry in the chicken and fig. The soups were amazing - butternut squash and the onion. Every special request we asked for was ignored: no onions on the burger came with onions. No croutons on the salad came with croutons. We were not served at the same time. I would still go there again but I would let them know about any time constraints and order accordingly.

We went there with the Santa Barbara Axxess card and for the 1,000 point dining bonus, so we scored big time. We were really pleased all around with our meal. The servers were quick, pleasant and didn't hang around too much which was nice. I ordered the special lasagna which was served in its own little ramekin and it was delicious. He had the judori (not sure if I am spelling that one correctly) chicken which was served with corn puree (give it a chance, it is really delicious) and a salad with apples. Both were yummy as were the complimentary homemade pickled veggies you get on your table. I would go again for a nice meal.

Perfect place to gather with your friends and family. Big tables for big groups. Wait staff well experienced and most importantly...patient. Food was better than average, but could use some plating presentation skills (I ordered the bagel and smoke salmon brunch plate on a Sunday morning and it was just 2 toasted bagel half, a couple of spoonful of capers, a big scoop of cream cheese and a few slices of salmon with red onion slices on top all on a plate. A better presentation would have been to put the cheese and the capers into small cups arranged opposite of each other on the plate with the salmon in the middle and the bagels on either side of the salmon. The caper juice made the bagel a bit soggy on the underside.

My wife and I went to Finch & Fork for the first time, and had an overall good experience. My rib eye steak was excellent, and I would definitely order it again. What really impressed us was that the manager came by during our meal to check on things, and corrected a very small problem with my wife's meal. He really wanted to make sure that we enjoyed our meal and our Finch & Fork experience.

We normally skip restaurants in hotels but we decided to try it because it was close to the Granada and offered free valet parking. We went early, 6:00 PM, to be able to go to the event and were greeted very warmly. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was very good, portions were appropriate and not too large. We skipped desert because of our time constraints but they sounded delicious. Pricing was moderate but not cheap. The tables were nicely spread out, the room was quiet so conversation was easy to hear and the decor was modern upscale. Overall very good and we will go back.

I had lunch here yesterday (10/14), my first time in since the change from Coast. Had the smoked salmon deviled eggs to start. I was impressed by the presentation and pleasantly surprised at the flavor. I will be getting this app again. Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich w/ fig jam for my main. Chicken was well cooked though not extremely flavorful. The cheese they used balanced well with the fig jam. My martini was well mixed and the atmosphere was quiet and unhurried. Verdict: A good place for lunch.

Great food, great drinks, and good vibe. The only thing I didn't care for was the waiter. He was just a little too awkward like he was trying to be buddy buddy with us but he never fit in. Had he just been friendly and served us then it would have been much better. Instead he lingered in front of us during our conversation and we tried to be nice, but it was just a little odd.

I am surprised to see "Cocktails" in the restaurant's name, and assume the bar-scene crowd is their target market. However, I dined recently with my teenage daughter who happens to be vegetarian, and we both enjoyed our meals immensely, so its not just for the cocktail crowd. Big thumbs up!

Our visit was on 9-22-2014 at 6:15pm. We waited 45 minutes after grabbing a drink for happy hour, than one of the gal in our group went to speak to the Manager whom took our order, and never to return, the waitress show up once to refill our water, and then just to give us our bill which is got the all our bill wrong. I would not recommend this restaurant and plan on call the Manager this week to complaint about service. I order the duck breast it was dry and the meat was hard, at this point I wasn't going to order something else or I would have been there another 45-1hr waiting for my dinner.

We consider ourselves foodies and I thought this would be a great place for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. I had previously had brunch here with my mom and sister and it was great. Dinner...not so much. The service was sub par for the price (go to the Lark instead) and the portions weren't just small, they were miniscule. I won't pay $30 for a grand total of 4 scallops. I wanted to love this place - the apps were good, brunch was fun, but they really don't impress at dinner time.

Have eaten dinner at Finch and Fork 5 times this year. Every time they have gone above and beyond to make sure our group was completely happy. Not that we've ever had to request a fix, because they get everything right the first time. Service is just right: prompt, professional, unintrusive. Atmosphere: a gem! It's attractive, comfortable, and rare for Santa Barbara: it's QUIET for dining, yet lively at the nearby bar! Food is farm-fresh, perfectly prepared, beautifully presented. My only quibble is that it's a bit pricey to make a regular habit for lunch, where I'd expect lower prices. I would love to pop in for lunch with friends regularly, but can't afford. But it's my go-to for special nights, and so convenient for downtown activities.
