FiglioGotta love Figlio 2.0As a manager told me, "We've grown up." Hey we all moved out of uptown and so did Figlio following the original "crowd" out to the 'burbs. The menu has grown up as well. Wonderful pasta, pizza and entrees. We had something from all areas of the menu and can only say that it was amazing. The noise level is pretty up there and the only reason I don't go five stars is the small pours on the wine. 9 bucks for two ounces or so.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMEntire meal spectacularI recommend the Sugar Mama cocktail - sugary rim and fruity refreshing ingredients. The house greens and beet salad were both winners and huge. My friend ordered the sea bass with bokchoy. It was delicious and perfectly prepared. I ordered the gargenelli pasta dish with spinach, tomatoes, mozzarella and pork shoulder. Incredible! Pork was so tender. Everything was very fresh. After our food came, brought by another waiter, I had to get new silverware from another table. I had to flag down a manager for drink refills and the remainder of our order. The service definitely needs improvement. The food was wonderful and portion sizes are very big. We will probably go back to give it another try but it may be awhile. Ravioli were good but wouldn't order them again. Not big fans of the dipping sauce. Caprese salad was really good, lots of thick slices of cheese and tomato and basil. Could have used more oil and vinegar drizzled over it, as we ended up asking for extra. Would order again for sure. Bread service was good as well. Warm crusty artisan bread that they brought seconds of hot out of the oven. My husband had ziti pasta with sausage tomato sauce. Liked the sausage in the sauce but wasn't wowed by the dish. I had the sea bass. Food was good. I am a former NYer and I have yet to be blown away by the restaurants here in Minny.
Figlio comes close to my favorite Italian restaurant in NY. Wine list was great and reasonable. Our waiter was good fun and attentive.
Would definitely go here again, but probably not on a Friday evening. With speciality drinks you never can tell, but these seem to be put together thoughtfully. Great ambience, although in certain areas of the restaurant it can get a little loud.
