The original Figlio sat in the heart of Uptown Minneapolis at the iconic corner of Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue from 1984 to 2009. For 25 years Figlio was the place for first dates, nights out with friends, and killer Italian cuisine.

Award-winning Executive Chef J.P. Samuelson is carrying on the Figlio legacy, staying true to everyone’s favorite signature dishes while introducing new Northern Italian and Mediterranean-inspired flavors resulting in a menu of lighter, healthier fare.

  • "Out server dropped by the table maybe four times over an almost two hour experience there. Then, we watched her eat pizza off a back rack that was visible from our table and then immediately handle another table's food without washing her hands. Told the manager, who did nothing about it. Won't be going back."

  • "Longtime fan of the prior Figlio's in Uptown. Have tried the new West End location on 5 occasions for lunch. Each time the food was a disappointment. Several examples are pasta (undercooked), calamari ("new" recipe was greasy, undercooked, with fried lemon slices that we all mistook as edible, and the number of calamari pieces were maybe 12 at the most), pizza (over baked, cheese was microscopic), chicken pasta soup (advertised as the original Uptown recipe - it wasn't close). Food does not justify the prices. Our last tab for 4 with 1 shared app., 3 cokes, 1 beer, 2 sandwiches, 1 sm pizza and 1 bowl of soup was $84."

  • "Went out for a girls night. We were brought water but then our waitress did not even ask us what we wanted to drink when she came back 10 minutes later. We had to ask her!! One meal did not come out with everyone else's and by the time it did, part of it was raw. It took 2 hours to get through a meal for 6 of us because of the slow service. At one point the waitress even asked us if we were in a hurry. The manager comp'd a drink or side salad from each meal and the meal that arrived late and raw which was fitting and appreciative but she overly defended the waitress instead of being more apologetic about our poor service."

  • "We had not been to this new location. What a hidden gem. The food was just great!! We had bruchetta and carpacio and 2 kinds of pasta and hailibut. All were outstanding.Our server was terrific. We cannot wait to go back. Great place to go before a movie. Loved it!!"

  • "First, watch where you park. There is valet parking, so you might want to consider that. Otherwise, there is a lot around the corner from the restaurant where you can park. Do not park across the street at the Jimmy John's/Verizon/Rainbow parking lot....security patrols it and will have you towed...or so I heard. Now for the good stuff....Figlio has a nice outdoor seating area and it was a beautiful night, so I sat outside. I started off with a meatball bruchetta appetizer that was really good. I then had the hanger steak dinner, which was very tasty and cooked perfectly. Lastly, was a banana cake for desert. It was delicious. I will definitely be back. In addition, there are some great bars to walk to after the meal...."

  • "I would not return. The food was O.K. The service was erratic. After visiting our table to deliver drinks, we had to find our waiter to take our order. After dinner, the coffee was lukewarm. It did not appear that the service was well-managed."

  • "First time at Figlio. Went with friends for lunch. We all ordered a lunch combo. Thought the server was attentive. I pointed out what I wanted and thought I was clear. As we wait I receive a salad. Asked server why no one else received their salad, he stated they ordered the combo (first clue). Food arrives and I have this massive pizza for four people (second clue). Food was great. I thought I was having the sausage flat bread (at least that's what I ordered) but instead I guess I had a sausage and apple pizza. All in all the bill came and my meal alone was 3 times what i ordered and server seemed appalled when I asked him to adjust. I would go back but I guess I'll make sure to have the server point out what I order next time."

  • "All the restaurant staff were friendly and welcoming. It was my first time there and I would definitely go back. The servers we had brought a funny and entertaining atmosphere to the table and were very helpful, especially on this first time visit. The menu has great options for all kinds of food lovers; it has more than just Italian food choices that taste great. The food was scrumptious, perfectly done, and came in a timely matter. The only draw back I notice was that the tables were kind of close to one another, but it did look like they had more spacious seating in back section of the restaurant. Overall, it was a pleasant experience that I would enjoy again."

  • "Was seated promptly by a pleasant young woman. The olive oil served for the bread I believe had worcestershire in it. Nice presentation but very weird taste. Had to request parmesan. I ordered linguini with clams and my date angel hair pomadoro with grilled shrimp. The "preserved lemon" was so overpowering I felt I was eating textured warm lemons. My date's response as to how her dish was - "it's ok". Our waiter was pleasant enough. When we were ready to leave, out waiter approached us again and said he mistakenly charged my card to another table. He voided my card and then recharged it and gave us the void and recharge copies saying "if you see two charges then you'll know what happened". Overall disappointing. Will not be returning."

  • "We were pleasantly surprised with both the service and the food. After seeing a movie at ICON we walked around the corner with our two hungry children. The hostess asked us if we wanted to be seated in the bar area or the dining room. Apparently, the bar has "happy hour" all day Sunday. We wouldn't have known this and were very happy to sit in the bar. She found us a great booth in the back of the bar - kids loved it. Our server was fabulous, asking us if we wanted to taste the "happy hour" wine before ordering. The manager even came over a few times to check on us. We felt like VIPs. Will definitely be back. "

  • "Frustrating to get to the restaurant for lunch on Sunday only to find that they only offer the buffet or the bar happy hour menu. This is not noted anywhere with the menus on their website. Fortunately the server was kind enough to accomodate my request of a salad as I have dietary restrictions. I would definitely not go back though, not to mention, the restaurant was dead. Clearly this is not something their customers want either."

Due to being late (no fault of Figlio) only table avail was next to Hostess stand. Took it. BUT biggest prob was NOISE LEVEL. Undoubtedly perfect for Millennials, X Gen and younger. The din was deafening! Left without ordering. Sorry; I kno food is great, BUT"

  • "Never have been to this restaurant. Very easy to find. The inside is great, very nice decor. We had a table in the bar area, over looking the brick oven prep area that was fun. The tap selection is awesome and their drinks are delicious. The food was awesome! I had linguini with clams, my husband had pepperoni pizza, my friend had beef kabobs with a pasta that was delicious. Their tiramisu was amazing! "

  • "I love the open table app. We scheduled this reservation about 20 minutes before we arrived. When we arrived, we were promptly seated with no waiting on a Friday night. The staff were very attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly. I had the steak salad and it was delicious with just the right portion on steak. Our food was delivered extremely quickly. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "The waitress did a good job of recommending a wine. AFter that, it was all downhill. The chicken wings were not the Figlio wings of past. They were underdone and lacking the flavor of well prepared wings. My beet salad had little to no dressing, so lacked flavor. The wings to share, and my salad were served at the same time and the bread basket didn't arrive until a minute before the entre. The flavor of my son's dish was overpowering. This meal did not meet up to MPls restaurant standards."

  • "I assumed since Figlio is an Italian restaurant that perhaps the pizza would be a bit more flavorful and exciting. Mine was VERY overdone and the toppings were few and far between. Fennel sausage with apple pizza was really some sausage with even less apple and not sure if there was a sauce at all. I also wondered why they do not offer or serve Parmesan cheese with oil and balsamic vinegar. I was going to ask but figured i was better off without the added calories. It took two ours for dinner and we went at the pace of the server. I don't know, seemed a bit dragged out. My friend's chicken pasta was very dreadful to look at. The noodles were naked and looked like something I could cook at home (and make it look more appealing)"

  • "The menu is uninspiring and isn't quite sure what it wants to be. Mostly Italian menu choices, but then something like chicken satay is also present. The winter caprese salad's roasted tomatoes are mushy and flavorless. The pasta dishes are uninspiring and high-calorie. The closes "light" option is an angel hair pasta with shrimp. The salad offerings are weak and uninspired. The creme brûlée was very good though! "

  • "My lunch at Figlio's at West End was a bright spot in my day, serving as a perfect place to meet with friends. Figlio's white table linens raises the bar for upscale dining. The menu selections demonstrate that Figlio's has their pulse on today's customers, offering fresh, organic healthy selections in small to mid-sized quantities. The hostess and waiter were courteous and professional, doing their jobs, yet offering dining privacy at the same time. "
