The original Figlio sat in the heart of Uptown Minneapolis at the iconic corner of Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue from 1984 to 2009. For 25 years Figlio was the place for first dates, nights out with friends, and killer Italian cuisine.

Award-winning Executive Chef J.P. Samuelson is carrying on the Figlio legacy, staying true to everyone’s favorite signature dishes while introducing new Northern Italian and Mediterranean-inspired flavors resulting in a menu of lighter, healthier fare.

  • "A group of us from work had lunch here. We were able to have a nice lunch in a reasonable amount of time without feeling rushed. We each ordered something different and enjoyed our food. All of our food was brought out at roughly the same time and none of it appeared to have been waiting. Our server was friendly, helpful, efficient, and not intrusive."

  • "We enjoyed dining on the outside patio away from the hot sun this day to celebrate a granddaughter's 14th birthday. The matre de made her feel special with a surprise Tuscan sunrise drink of blood orange juice and soda. No cheese pizza on the menu just a pepperoni pizza so we order a pepperoni pizza without the pepperoni, perfect. From the flavorful basil/garlic strozzapreti with it's rolled noodles and the steak salad with a generous piece of perfectly cooked steak everything was great. The birthday girl selected a complimentary dessert which arrived with a candle and a scrumptious chocolate/mouse cake and ice cream attached. Friendly and attentive staff made it a pleasant visit."

When a (replacement) server came, she was great and mentioned the server we were supposed to have was MIA. The dining experience was less than impressive though, especially when attempting to entertain a prospective client."

  • "The food was delicious, once you got over the fact that it was cold. With two fried appetizers on a dead Sunday night you'd have to assume at least one would be warm right? Service was pretty decent, not obtrusive, but not vacant either, despite the lateness with which we stayed. Feels a little too expensive for the portions we got however. Beautiful place to dine though, and the food would have been excellent(if overpriced) if it had been warm."

  • "My wife and I had our first date there nearly 20 years ago in their Uptown location. When it closed, we were sad, but I must admit, there new location is just as vibrant/trendy. Great food, amazing drinks. They have great themed days throughout the week. Our wedding anniversary happen to hit their Thursday date night, which is an appetizer, two entries and desert for $50!"

  • "Convenient location in West End, SLP. Peach panna cotta dessert was outstanding. Pasta was tasty, but small portions for price - not shareable. Delicious bread seemed to be by request (not offered, but provided). Unusual Cesaer salad - sparse dressing, topped with undercooked egg half - was large enough to share for lunch. Outdoor seating is along a busy street, so we chose to sit indoors. Decor is upscale, but waitstaff were in t-shirts. Music/vibe/service all seems to be tuned for the 20-something crowd."

  • "Entrees really missed the mark and they came out cold. ~ Ravioli dish seemed as if it came straight out of the frig. ~ Tortellini dish tasted like bad mushrooms leaving no room to taste any other flavors. ~ The Fish dish was fine but certainly did not have a freshness to it. Appetizers, desserts and wine were great! ~ Fried Olives where tasty ~ Wings had a lovely sauce ~ Chocolate was very nice ~ Cheese Cake had a nice Almond flavor ~ Bottle of Pinot Gris was wonderful Staff ~ Manager was very professional handling the entree situation ~ Waiter needs to enunciate and project not speak behind his teeth and mumble. Over all he was pleasant, professional, tried his best. People next to us had red pasta dishes. They were not impressed."

  • "Tried this on a wim with some picky eaters in the group. To start we went on a sunday and they have all day happy hour on food and drinks. SCORE!!! They had a great selection for mixed drinks along with craft beers. Menu easy to read and decide from. The food is to die for. The staff was pleasant and good to work with. Overall pleasant experience and the picky eaters enjoyed the food."

  • "The server was nice but was not knowledgeable about the wines at all! He told me the house "rosso" was a chardonnay. My son's meal was clearly ordered without parmesan and it arrived smothered in parmesan. The atmosphere is nice. The outdoor dining is small and on a main road with no fence or anything to separate the dining area from the walkers on the sidewalk. The food was fair to poor. Everything was overwhelmed by too much garlic."

The service was very basic, and the food was not outstanding as the waiter made it sound like: my wife ordered salmon pasta, and instead of salmon filet it was salmon crumbs..."

  • "I have not been to Figlio since it has moved from Uptown and I was a big fan of it when it was there. A friend & I went here to have a dinner for my birthday and we had a corner booth in the bar. It was a nice day and the patio was busy and we could tell that our server George was very busy. That being said, it did not affect the great service that she gave us. She was very attentive, friendly and gave great recommendations. We started off with the beef carpaccio and bruschetta and they were both presented beautifully and were delicious. I had the beef and pork tortellini as my main meal that was amazing as well. Overall I would highly recommend the food and the service."

  • "Thought it would be a good place to take the family for a birthday celebration. It took over an hour from the time we arrived before actually getting our food. The food was good but had been sitting awhile. The ambiance was nice. Outdoor seating is okay. The manager did adjust our bill but he didn't seem very happy about doing it. It's tough to keep a three year and a seven year old entertained for that long. Also had to send a drink back twice before they got it right, a vodka gimlet."

  • "We had a reservation for a group of 7 family members at Figlios. The experience was very good with the food and service. Our party sat inside next to the screened window and could take in the light outdoor breeze at our inside seats. The two appetizers, fried calamari and hot artichoke dip was great tasting. Many of us had the pistachio crusted halibut entree which was moist and flavorful. For a Thursday night, the establishment was at capacity and noisy. Additionally, it's a noisy location in the West End Shoppes due to the main street causing the traffic noise which affects the outside table diners. I would go again for a unique dining event."

  • "After having moved from the area my wife and I were visiting the Minneapolis area and made reservations. We had very much enjoyed Figlio's when it was located in Calhoun Station and wanted to experience the new location. We found the service to be great. Our waiter was quick to greet us, professional and attentive to our wants and needs. The food was wonderful. We tried two appetizers (the calamari and the carpaccio) and found both to be very tasty. After two appetizers we chose to order a smaller entre. I had the smaller portion of tortellini while my wife had soup, a tomato, basil, and garlic soup. Both were well prepared and very good. We ended by sharing a fruit tart which had an amazing crust for dessert. We'll be back."

  • "I ordered shrimp pomodoro and the angelhair pasta was lumped together. It was as if it hadn't been stirred while boiling. The shrimp was soaked in butter which also isn't my preference. My friend ordered a lobster dish and felt she had to search to find the lobster plus the overall flavor was fine but nothing remarkable. Service was good and we enjoyed each other's company so much we didn't bother have food sent back for lumpy pasta."

  • "Longtime fan of the prior Figlio's in Uptown. Have tried the new West End location on 5 occasions for lunch. Each time the food was a disappointment. Several examples are pasta (undercooked), calamari ("new" recipe was greasy, undercooked, with fried lemon slices that we all mistook as edible, and the number of calamari pieces were maybe 12 at the most), pizza (over baked, cheese was microscopic), chicken pasta soup (advertised as the original Uptown recipe - it wasn't close). Food does not justify the prices. Our last tab for 4 with 1 shared app., 3 cokes, 1 beer, 2 sandwiches, 1 sm pizza and 1 bowl of soup was $84."

  • "Went out for a girls night. We were brought water but then our waitress did not even ask us what we wanted to drink when she came back 10 minutes later. We had to ask her!! One meal did not come out with everyone else's and by the time it did, part of it was raw. It took 2 hours to get through a meal for 6 of us because of the slow service. At one point the waitress even asked us if we were in a hurry. The manager comp'd a drink or side salad from each meal and the meal that arrived late and raw which was fitting and appreciative but she overly defended the waitress instead of being more apologetic about our poor service."

  • "We had not been to this new location. What a hidden gem. The food was just great!! We had bruchetta and carpacio and 2 kinds of pasta and hailibut. All were outstanding.Our server was terrific. We cannot wait to go back. Great place to go before a movie. Loved it!!"
