  • "This restaurant was very quaint and we thoroughly enjoyed out visit there. The food was excellent, very well prepared! This is perfect for a very nice romantic evening on the town for a couple. The only thing I would've like to see was valet services, and that would've made our evening perfect!"

  • "Loved everything from the setting (sat out on the porch), the service (knowledgable and personable), and the food (reason enough to visit) "

  • "We celebrated my wife's birthday at Fig Tree. We both had veal chops, a superb meal. The intimate setting made our time together special. Ask for the second floor seating. We'll be back again soon!"

  • "The food + waitstaff were great. First time at this restaurant + as we pulled up there were people dining outside it looked just lovely. We walked to the hostess desk while eyeing the downstairs interior which had nice lighting + decor. She greeted us + + then took us upstairs to a tiny room where I guess some might find romantic but I found to be just really dark, snoozy + uninspiring. I wondered why we weren't given the option of eating downstairs or upstairs as my husband had overheard the guests behind us who were also checking in be asked. Our reservation was later in the evening(8:30) and when we arrived and left their were tables available downstairs. Husband thinks we should give it another shot but definitely downstairs next time!!"

  • "If you go, get a table downstairs or outside. The tables upstairs are in small bedrooms that make for awkward conversation."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed our dinner at Fig Tree and were particularly pleased with how the restaurant fit into the old house that it's in. I had halibut, which was very well prepared. The accompanying salad was also good. (My wife had escargot and raved about it. She also had calamari on her salad and said that it was quite good.) Bread was served with a wonderful garlic paste. Altogether, a great experience."

  • "Atmosphere was very nice and service excellent. Menu was interesting with unique offerings. Items we ordered were enjoyed, but quite frankly, notwithstanding an appealing presentation, the price did not match up to the offerings in my opinion. Enjoyed the experience but would not be inclined to return for a second visit."

  • "Really nice anniversary dinner. Could not have asked for better service and food."

  • "Unfortunately the food did not live up to the price tag associated with it. Service, location, quality of food were outstanding but flavored we're not complex and or had too much going on at once."

  • "From the first appetizers, to the excellent selection of reasonably price wines, to the choice cheeses with our salads to the main courses perfectly prepared we were delighted with the quality, the presentation and the service. Then we decided to try a variety of desserts. Each was absolutely perfectly prepared and a delight to the eye and palate. Amazingly our desserts seemed to simply evaporate in short order. The whole experience was great fun and we all were able to converse and hear each other due to the low ambient background noise and quiet service staff. We each tried an item new to us and everyone was completely pleased with the selection. Zach's wine suggestions were also perfect for each dish."

  • "Definitely a wonderful and romantic environment for a special couple. Quiet and relaxing. Chill ambiance. The food was delicious and well price. Everything was great. We shared mostly appetizers so I couldn't tell you much about the entrees, but dessert was butterscotch crime brûlée. Delicious. Enjoy !"

  • "Went there for my mom's birthday dinner after reading many reviews from various sites. I made my reservations the day of and was fairly nervous because last time I went to a highly regarded restaurant I was very disappointed. But from the first course to dessert my mother and I was beyond happy with the food and the service."

  • "The special on that night was pork chop. While the chop was excellent, the"french fry" sticks had a slight taste of freezer burn....disappointing, but that was the only thing. The rest of the meal was excellent and our server, Eddie, was outstanding. We do recommend The Fig Tree."

  • "I booked our reservation at The Fig Restaurant after doing online research to find a fine dining, "date night" restaurant in close proximity to Theatre Charlotte. The only negative reviews I saw were complaints about small portions (which I consider a GOOD sign) and a few reviewers who complained that their elk was tough. My husband and I asked our server for food recommendations and she said the elk was a perennial favorite, so we both ordered it -- but we requested the chef's preferred temp medium rare, since it's a very lean cut. OMG, that meat melted in my mouth! The sides (spaetzle and red cabbage) were fantastic as well, as was the escargot appetizer, the wines, and our desserts. We did not go away hungry. Highly recommended!"

  • "The Fig Tree is located in an older house with dining rooms upstairs and down. It is maybe 2 miles from the Westin Hotel and the Convention Center. We, three of us, dined in a small intimate dining room upstairs. Nice ambiance, excellent food, outstanding service, good wine list. A very enjoyable place to dine with special friends. Reasonable prices for a restaurant of this quality. I would definitely go back!"

  • "I took my wife to Fig Tree for our 10 year anniversary. We started at the bar where we looked at a menu, decided what we were eating and asked the bartender for a wine recommendation from their extensive menu. He chose a french wine to go with our elk and veal chops and he sure did not disappoint. The wait staff was impeccable, our food was cooked to perfection. I had the elk with spatzel and red cabbage. That cabbage was to die for and paired perfect with the spatzel and elk. My wife had the veal chop with fingerling mashed potato (these were incredible). Even the dinner salad was something to brag about. We ended with the beinets, cappuccino and cognac. Thank you Fig Tree for making our anniversary amazing."

  • "This was my first visit to the Fig Tree and it fully lived up to the reviews. We started with the Gorgonzola/apple appetizer that us wrapped in the most buttery pastry I have ever tasted. I had the trigger fish and it was perfectly prepared. Others had the veal chop and tha scallops with the same results. Can't wait to go back!!"

  • "We thought the food, though very good, was overpriced. The portions, particularly the appetizers were very small. The most negative factor was the noise level. It was impossible to have a conversation because of the noise from surrounding tables."

  • "My husband took me here on a Thursday night to celebrate our anniversary. There were a mix of women on ladies night out and couples and even a few of what looked to be business dinners and all of the dining rooms were full. Even with a full house, the atmosphere was quite intimate and the noise level was acceptable. I had the veal chop and my husband had the lamb chops. Both were very good! We were able to request substitutions with no problem as well. I love that salads are included with purchase of an entree and the house salad was much better than I expected. We will definitely be going back!"

  • "Made our second trip to The Fig Tree restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, and though it was hard to imagine anything being better that the first trip, this experience topped it. Phenomenal wine, service and food and it only makes us want to come back again sooner. From the appetizers through the desserts and fabulous end-of-meal coffee (the French Press is to die for), this restaurant is tough to beat and it is easy to see why it has ranked so highly in the many restaurant surveys. If you haven't tried The Fig Tree yet you are missing out on a wonderful opportunity. I have been to some of the country's best restaurants and I would put The Fig Tree up against any of them."

  • "I celebrated a birthday at the Fig Tree with my wife on Sunday. We both had marvelous entrees (mine was a thick juicy strip steak) and we split a dessert of cherry crisp that was delicious. We had terrific service---not intrusive but good periodic checking in---and a very romantic table for two. The restaurant noise level was low enough that table conversation was easy and there was neither strain nor concern about being overheard by other diners. Lighting level was low. Originally my wife was concerned that it was too low, but it seemed fine as the night moved on. We recommend the Fig Tree for either a special occasion or for a night of fine dining in the neighborhood. The wine list and the menu are both first rate."

  • "My husband and I went for our anniversary dinner. Wonderful food and good, attentive wait staff. Would definitely go back again in the future. There was mild amount of background noise but nothing distracting. The porch looked lovely but we weren't offered a seat there and didn't think to ask since we were one of the first couples to arrive at opening. Would definitely ask to sit outside in the future! Inside was lovely but a little cool with air on so would recommend a sweater or wrap. Looking forward to dining at Fig Tree again soon."

  • "We had an amazing meal. I had champagne, foie gras with Sauternes, spinach salad, veal chop with asparagus, and the flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and marshmallow. Nicole was a fantastic server and the meal was flawless."

  • "My wife and I had a wonderful evening out at The Fig Tree. The entire experience was wonderful with the staff going out of their way to ensure a grand evening. A great wine list and a delicious menu which I hear changes with the seasons. This is a great place for a romantic evening or a special occasion. Worth every penny. We will be back!"

  • "Wonderful for a couple or small group. The weather didn't allow us to eat outside, but I'd like to try that next time. The bar area is very intimate if you want to start with a cocktail before dinner."

  • "The Lamplighter was our favorite restaurant. When it closed we struggled to find another restaurant with good service and quiet atmosphere. The Fig Tree is our new "go to" restaurant for special occasions. Good food, great service and lovely low key dining."

  • "Will definitely go back to experience perfectly made drinks. Savory appetizers and delicious deserts. The menu sounds great but the specials seemed to lack real pop & wow. Cannot say enough good things about the attentiveness, openness and attitude of the servers. It felt like we had individual service with some of the best. Always there when you wanted something and never in your face."

  • "We love fig tree! The food and service at Fig Treeare unparalleled in charlotte. This is a little nugget of an experience with romantic ambiance and the best of the best all around. The wine list is also lovely, with many solid options for ½ bottles as well as an extensive list of quality bottles. They were very accommodating to my gluten allergy as well. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "It was our first time at Fig Tree. We couldn't be more pleased! It was such a delightful experience! The staff was very gracious and helpful. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was upscale, but now stuffy. The home that is the restaurant makes it even more special. It was just outstanding! We definitely will go back and also recommend!"

  • "We have dined at Fig Tree on several occasions and it is always wonderful. If I can comment on one thing, it is the new tables for (2). They are small and in some cases you are very close to the next table. We were upsatirs in a room with (4) tables and we felt like we should be whispering. None the less, we love Fig Tree and will continue to visit and enjoy! Great food and exemplary service! Love the bar and staff!"
