FIGFig Doesn't FalterWe took friends from Atlanta to brunch at Fig. They said it was the best meal they had during their stay in L.A. I had the corned beef chorizo hash and it was delicious, as was my bloody Maria!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food overall, was veryThe food overall, was very good. We enjoyed the asparagus, pork ribeye, wild mushroom risotto, brussel sprouts and strawberry tres leche. We did not care for the blistered little gems (which were way too bitter - we could barely eat this and wish we had sent it back) or the lemon dessert which was very mediocre.
Also, while we understand the restaurant is "happening", the music was so loud it was very difficult to have a converation.
Finally, the policy of charging $7 for bread which turns out is 2 large slices of bread, is a bit absurd. We waited a while for our appetizers, so we requested some bread in the meantime. The bread also took a while and finally got to the table when our appetizers did.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love Fig!Fig not only has great seasonal dishes but the service is above and beyond consistently. Brian, the manager, was so attentive as was our server. We always have a great time there and having 5 star service definitely makes you want to return again and again. We are always Wowed by the service and how thoughtful and great the staff is overall. The drinks are also a MUST! Moscow mules are a favorite but seasonal specialty drinks always appeal. The food is seasonal and so we always have a chance to try new dishes.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat!I took my parents here for brunch while they were in town. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely go there again!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for sunny afternoonEverything on the menu sounded fantastic. Went for lunch and sat at an outdoor table. Everyone in the group was pleased with their meals. Love that there's free two hour valet at the hotel with validation. Will be coming back.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch! We came to the Fig and enjoyed Mother's Day! No expensive, pre-set menu, just the normal excellent breakfast burritos and chilaquiles were enjoyed by all! We even had the Chef, Ray Garcia, visit our table and bestow Morher's Day wishes. A wonderful and excellent choice!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgood fo food, bad for conversationThe food was innovative and quite good but the noise level made it necessary for us to shout to be heard. We would not go back because of the noise. we are all seniors.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial occasion appropriateIt was my wife's birthday in the spring. A great time for a trip to a famous Santa Monica hotel with a modern "in" restaurant. Expensive, but very pleasant. Interesting and unusual beet salad, fine ocean trout (akin to salmon), pretty good wild mushroom risotto, excellent wine, excellent and unusual dessert. Service was excellent and adapted nicely to our request for a different table because of the sun's angle.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFIG: MY FAVE PLACE ON THE WEST SIDEOSCAR is my absolute favorite waiter - all their wait staff should be trained by Oscar. Food is superb, atmosphere the best. Dining at Fig is a dining experience not to be missed. The acoustics are even spectacular. There was a huge party seated next to us, but we were able to converse without being disturbed. And, there was a private room on the other side of us, separated by only a curtain, and they were whooping it up, but they weren't a problem, either. Where else can you dine where you can have a private conversation and hear yourselves speak without having to say, "Huh, What?" constantly, because of the noise - and we had two huge parties on either side of us, and could hear just fine. THANK YOU AGAIN, FIG!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMUnusual breakfast dishes,Unusual breakfast dishes, nice setting near the windows by the pool, prompt service - only problem: the cappuccino was awful!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGood fresh organic food, butGood fresh organic food, but the steak was disappointing and very chewy. However, Fig branded chardonnay was excellent.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food- Happening SceneI have eaten here many times and the food is always fresh, seasonal and delicious. Breakfast I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes- YUM! And dinner I opted for a quinoa salad starter, tomato soup and meatloaf. All were delicious. My 2 year old got her own plastic, colorful utensils and it was one of the first times I ordered off the kids menu because they had great options. Her Burger was done medium rare with a side of brussels sprouts. We all enjoyed.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelectable. Highly recommend.Delectable. Highly recommend. The food is pristine, uncomplicated and flawless. I was blown away by everything we had, from the beet salad to the tongue to the fish over root veg. All perfectly arranged and cooked. The place is popular so the noise is quite high. Lighting is moody. Depending on where you sit, you might be squinting at your menus. Service: awesome.
I would order anything they had here. It's that good.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFig NEVER disappoints!Try to be seated in Oscar's section - he is THE BEST! Brought another friend for their first time and he loved it and can't wait to return. Fig is THE BEST on the West Side! Thanks so much, Fig!2/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant on the Westside!Always stupendous! Brought someone who hasn't been there yet.
