  • "Fig accomodated my request for a quiet table in a corner which was fine, but drafty (not fine). The maitre d' offered to get a blanket which was very considerate. My guest and I ordered dishes to share, including dates stuffed with blue cheese, beet salad, cauliflower risotto, and vegetable curry. The beet salad and especially the cauliflower risotto were delicious. The milk chocolate pudding cake was rich and creamy. Our quiet table was relative to the rest of the restaurant which was noisy while some might say "energetic". I found it difficult to hear my guest across our small table."

  • "Service was amazing. The waiter was very patient with me, and I had a difficult time ordering. He was super attentive, kept checking on us and accommodated our every need. We ordered the Halibut and the trout. Halibut was just ok, a little disappointing. The cilantro-lemon sauce and English peas on the halibut was a little too bland and underwhelming. However, the trout with the mustard sauce, bacon, and shaved brussel sprouts really packed the punch I was looking for. Strong flavor, and I ate every single bite. Side of asparagus and fries did not disappoint. The peanut butter crunch dessert was spectacular. Overall, I thought the 150$ for 2, including wine (one glass each) and tip was worth it."

  • "My wife had to drive to Santa Monica for a business meeting on Sunday. I planned on taking my wife for a nice brunch. I found Fig's listing and it sounded interesting. My wife and I owned a restaurant in Los Angeles in the 1980s and my wife taught Food Service Management at PCC. We have enjoyed trying restaurants world wide. My wife ordered a salad which was a nice size served in a bowl which was to small making it a challenge to put your fork in without some of the salad falling on the table. She had them put it in a larger bowl. The salad was very good. I ordered the poached eggs over chorizo and hash. I expected a nice spicy dish. It was anything but that, very bland and I had to add their excellent chili sauce to make it have any taste."

  • "Annoyingly loud with bad old rock and roll blaring. The restaurant tried to be cool and as a result just seemed annoying. The food ws good but the noise level made it a "never again" experience."

  • "Friends from Wisconsin were in town and staying down the street. I wanted them to have an amazing food experience and I had heard so many good reviews for Fig that i had to give it a try. And it did not disappoint. We decided to try "Feed Me" - four courses, chef's choice. Each course was better than the last but each course was amazing on its own. There was not a single dish that was just okay. Fresh, bright, great flavors, perfectly seasoned (no going crazy with the salt!) And a taste of just about everything. I will be back and I will put my dining experience once again the hands of the Chef. Thank you."

  • "I loved the food and the service was amazing. The only I wished had been different was the noise level. When I made the reservation I specifically asked for a quiet table for my date and I. Unfortunately when we got there we were seated in the muddle of the restaurant at the most awkward and loud area! I was upset. But I would definitely come back with a group of girls or for a bday part. *not suitable for first dates"

This dining experience was incredibly bad. How could the Fairmont have such a poor quality restaurant in it's Hotel. Shame on them"

From the moment we walked in, she was treated like a queen. The food was fabulous. The Bellinis were extraordinary. The brunch menu is varied to satisfy breakfast or lunch. The ambience was sunny and festive. I can't believe I hadn't visited Fig sooner."

  • "Took a girlfriend here for her birthday lunch---the service was extremely gracious (without asking they put a candle on her dessert). The food was scrumptious and the ambiance was lovely. It is a hip, classy place without the stand-offish attitude that often accompanies new hot spots. It seems to be a melting pot---each table comprised of different kinds of guest---families with small children, dates, clusters of girls out for an afternoon jaunt. A truly lovely experience!"

  • "The waiter did not know the wine list, or the food we were eating. We did the tasting menu, which can be fun at certain places. However at Fig every time they brought out a few item they did not know what it was, so we were guessing what we were eating. For the $800 meal for 5 people, I expect the waiter to be able to recommend and know the wine list and know what the food is they are serving us. Shocking bad. The food was good but a second grade level wait staff."

  • "I booked a table for 7 people for a birthday party and was extremely disappointed. I have the phone app that measures decibel level, and the level was between 90 and 100. This is a high enough level to cause hearing damage! We had to scream at each other to talk. In addition to the human noise was heavy beat music, which was way too loud. Any enjoyment of the food was overshadowed by how loud this place was. I can not recommend it."

  • "The food is an excellent, although I felt the portions were rather small. Not the best place for a romantic dinner, too noisy crowded, with uncomfortable lounge type chairs with table heights that are too high. But the service was superb. I had requested a table in a quiet corner and they delivered so hats off to them. Because the waitresses were really hot, I had to behave and to look, so not a good idea for a romantic date. Next time I will come alone. LOL. The wine and drinks menu is excellent but very expensive. They need to sort out their dining room tables. Go have a look at the tables at Kabuki in Pasadena guys, which are comfortable booth type seats at the right height and provides plenty of privacy and lighting."

  • "The DineLA menu was good; the salad was terrific, the chicken was plentiful and juicy and dessert was irresistible, much to my diet's demise. Great meal, nice table, unfortunately one extremely rude diner decided to put his/her call on speaker phone and it was VERY loud, louder than the sound of a TV running a sports game. Extremely annoying. At that point I feel that the wait staff or floor manager should have stepped in and asked the diner to consider the other customers in the room. Otherwise, it's a lovely place to eat. Not sure about the prices during regular menu days but the DineLA menu was a bargain at the price we paid for the quality we got."

Service was quite slow, and we waited a long time for our drinks and our order to be taken The Dine LA menu was pedestrian. My chicken was tasty but the veal dishes of my companions was not very good. Over all I would not recommend this restaurant."

  • "Love this place for its creative menu with lots of vegetarian/vegan options and ambience! We ordered from the Dine LA menu and they were kind enough to swap the risotto for a vegan vegetable curry (delicious)! Food was overall great, but service needs attention!! Our table was not ready for almost 20 mins after arrival, in spite of having made reservations and from then on everything seemed like eternity; right from getting the drinks menu to the check! Restaurant was quite full when we started, but was emptying out by 9:30; so not sure why the wait staff was not available. 15 mins after the dessert plates were cleared, had to wave down the manager for the check. Of course he was very apologetic and sent us home with a sweet treat :)"

  • "I imagine Fig being the perfect spot for a ladies brunch. I went with a few friends for lunch during restaurant week and ordered the warm quinoa salad, fish tacos, and chocolate panna cotta. I was very satisfied with the food and loved the ambiance - sophisticated but still has a bit of the laid back vibe of Santa Monica. My friends and I want to come back to try brunch or dinner on a regular day!"

  • "We were five for lunch and we all loved our soup starters (tomato basil soup and onion soup), really good, full of flavor but not overbearing! But three of us found our main course - two had sandwiches and one a salad - left a lot to be desired. Not bad food, but bland, nothing special. The other two at the table really enjoyed their main course - a lobster roll sandwich and a BLT. Dessert was a bread pudding with white chocolate sauce and strawberries ... ummmmmmmm, terrific, but the warm cookies, once cooled a bit, were dry. Service was extremely slow and not at all attentive. I would try the restaurant again if I was in the vicinity, but not a place I would seek out."
