  • "My girlfriend and I went to FIG for her birthday. Our meal was incredible. We wanted a variety so we shared two appetizers, got an appetizer and entree for our main course and also got a side of Okra with our main course. We had two servers that took great care of us. They made great suggestions, were very easy/fun to talk to and were extremely knowledgeable. The food is world class and it's very reasonably priced. We eat out all the time and Charleston and there are so many great restaurants. FIG is my new favorite in Downtown Charleston."

  • "We have been to Fig a number of times in the past, but it had been several years since our last visit, and the food was as good as we remembered it being . Everything was perfectly prepared - everything extremely fresh, lots of wonderful favors, lots of perfectly prepared fish and vegetables. The service is informal but professional and very attentive. The tomato tarte appetizer is just as amazing as we remembered. Our only complaint is that the room gets a little noisy at times"

  • "In a city that is a known mecca for foodies, this restaurant is a stand out. Fresh, farm-to-table cuisine prepared with great imagination without being overwrought. Standouts were the JOHN’S ISLAND TOMATO TARTE TATIN made with local tomatoes which were roasted overnight then "hung" for 3 days (I'm guessing in a mesh bag or cheese cloth) to let go of most of their moisture. The resulting intensely flavored "confit" of tomatoes, served on a round of cheesy pastry, was spectacular. I'd put this in the "don't miss" category."

  • "We dined here on our trip to Charleston for our 20th anniversary. A local told me that tables were hard to come by due to demand. I learned why! The food was exquisite, the service was outstanding. This was our favorite meal of the whole trip. Highlights included the gnocchi, tomato tart, swordfish, okra, and the graham sammy for dessert. The atmosphere was clean and upscale but not pretentious. If you are in Charleston put this one on your list!"

  • "Absolutely everything was delicious, but the seafood stew here is one of the best things that either me or my dinning partner had ever eaten! The staff was very, very careful with food allergy restrictions, as well as being friendly in general. It is a restaurant for a special occasion due to the price, but so, so, so worth it. If you have the chance to visit, do not pass it up!"

Ambience and service below comparable restaurants. Feel like has become trendy tourists trap. Hate it, we have too many other great choices. See ya FIG."

  • "This was my first time dinning at Fig and the occasion was a business diner. The restaurant came highly recommended by colleagues and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere and noise level were perfect for business dinner and the food...the food was incredible...fresh, simple yet complex, well balanced, and just a delight for the taste buds! I will definitely return to Fig with important clients but I now look forward to taking wife as it is as romantic as it business friendly!!!"

  • "Some of the best food and drinks in town. I am a repeat customer and have never been disappointed by the quality of food and cocktails. Always great, always imaginative. Many good fish and seafood entrees. All very fresh. One small complaint is that if you have early reservations (5:30 - 6pm) the waiter will try to push you out the door quickly so they can get to the 8pm reservations. I had to ask our waiter to slow down after bugging us three times for our order. Just a small complaint and something they need to watch out for. I will continue to come back!"

  • "If you have never been to FIG, you must go! We've been many times and it is always just as wonderful as the last time. Their new pastry chef has created some amazing dessert options so even though it is difficult to save room, try to! The gnocchi and nine vegetable salad are both delicious. Any place with a one page list for making your own Manhattan clearly has a fantastic bar. Their specialty cocktails are always inventive. Easily our favorite place in Charleston!"

  • "This was our first time dining at F.I.G. AND WE ARE VERY GLAD THAT WE DID. From the time we walk in the door we felt very comfortable and welcome. Ryan did a great job explaining the menu and his suggestions were spot on. The ricotta gnocchi were as he described as pillow like and melts in your mouth! The only complaint if there is one is that there were to many for an appetizer size portion. Even though we almost licked the bowl clean. The head cheese and pate were also wonderful with the pairing of wine that was suggested. Everything was wonderful all the way through the dessert of frozen blackberry curd and sheep milk cheese, the fresh tiny figs love them. Truly one of the best meals that we have had in a very long time."

  • "We enjoy trying new and highly recommended restaurants when we make our yearly trek to the beaches of Charleston. This year FIG was at the top of our list. We were able to make a reservation using Opentable. Our service was wonderful but the food was only passable. Most diners choose the Grouper. The fish was dry but the sauce was a delight. The potato purée was delicious, but I make that at home! The gnocchi was excellent but the sauce was generic. Wine selection is good and price is comparable to other like establishments."

  • "We heard through personal recommendations and numerous online reviews that FIG was a must for anyone coming to Charleston. We were going for our honeymoon, and we love trying new and different restaurants. We were a little confused by the atmosphere, which was very loud and vibrant, but once we got a table, we got into the flow of how much fun everyone was having. The food was delicious and unique, and even though my wife and I don't drink, FIG has a number of fun "mocktails" that we could select from. The menu changes frequently, but we loved the fish stew and mustard-crusted porgy. Fish at any restaurant in Charleston is going to pretty great, but our dinner was especially delicious. FIG's kind of a foody scene, but it's a lot of fun."

  • "I'm super surprised at the high ratings this restaurant received, and reserved a table because it had such glowing reviews. The wine list is very poor in comparison to many Charleston restaurants, and even after giving clear detail on the kind of wines I enjoy, I received 4 different cabs that all tasted like the same, bitter wine. I found the menu unimpressive, and although we ordered multiple dishes to share with the group, I didn't find one that I was particularly fond of. I dine in Charleston at least 6-10 nights each month, and this pales in comparison to Fish, Charleston Grill, Eli's table, and dozens of others. I won't be returning."

  • "OMG, I am soooo GLAD we booked a reservation for this Charleston favorite. Everything my husband & I ordered was EXCEPTIONAL. 3 things stand out in mind... the 9 vegetable Salad was the most AMAZING salad I have ever eaten (I promise!!!), the homemade ricotta stuffed gnocchi was DIVINE and that homemade chocolate crepe dessert was OUTSTANDING. If you haven't tried this restaurant, you must make a reservation ASAP."

  • "The food was not as creative as marketed, the prices were high due to this lacking, and the location was loud with many parties. I felt the location was overrated and I was disappointed. I do not agree innovation was found in this kitchen and hardly finished any of the plates I ordered. Fig's Sister restaurant, The Ordinary, is by far the better find."

  • "Wow!!!From the second I walked in I was impressed. Beautiful decor, friendly, very nice bar area, and even the bathrooms are extremely nice. Service was superb. Food was SO tasty, fresh, and with each bite the flavors were just popping in my mouth. There is no shortage of fresh, tasty, trendy restaurants in Charleston, but FIG is the best of the best. Reserve early or walk in right at opening and they could probably get you in."

  • "If I could give Fig 6 stars I would. I have been 3 times this summer and every time it is a wonderful culinary experience. One of my very favorites is the 9 vegetable salad. I also think the news dessert chef is doing a great job. The sorghum cake and Calvados ice cream which has always been a signature dessert is great However the new desserts like the buttermilk and blackberry leche as well as the mascarpone ice cream sandwich with the peach sorbet were out of the world!!!"
