Diner Reviews
  • "Fig and Olive is always a great experience. From the time we walk in and are greeted by Aryn until the end of the meal we always enjoy ourselves. My wife had the lamb chops which are served under a glass dome which contains the smoky aroma of the perfectly cooked chops. My tuna was cooked exactly as I had requested and was moist and tender. The two managers - Paul and Dave - are always around to ensure the meal progresses smoothly and to answer any questions about the menu items. While all of the staff is great, we ask to sit in Gentian's section if possible."

  • "Food was delicious, however not plentiful, served on a huge plate which made it even more meager looking. Was way overpriced for the less than generous portions."

  • "Amazing dishes! Delicious Crostinis! Tasty cocktails and amazing certificates. Thanks for a great time!"

  • "Food was good, but prices have risen over the past month. If not ordering from the $35 prix fixe menu (beverage not included), the cost of a glass of wine, appetizer and entrée averages $50. For a local evening out, I would rather travel into the city. Lower your prices, and I will be back."

  • "I asked for lamb chops rare and when they arrived on my plate there was no red inside, just pink and brown. The server never checked with me to see if the meal was as ordered. When we found the manager and explained this to him, he said he would replace them. I said no thank you, it would disrupt the flow of the dinner. He did give us a cheese plate and another dessert to take home. Bottom line the food was good. I liked the fig and olive salad and the desserts. The lamb chops were good, just not rare."

  • "The place was busy when we arrived, we were seated right away. The food was really good. Overall, a great place to go."

  • "Went here with a couple girl friends for my birthday. Great place, food and people."

  • "We used a Groupon and it turned out to be a great deal! Plentiful appetizers, a bottle of good wine, delicious and artistically prepared main dish. Warm chocolate cake was good, not great. My only criticism is the noise level but that seems to be the situation at most trendy restaurants these days."

  • "Had two appetizers for lunch and both were excellent. Mussels were the largest I've ever had and so well prepared with just the right seasonings. Ordered artichoke and expected a big artichoke and instead received hearts blended with parm cheese and toast. Very interesting and delicious. My friend had a salmon burger and she loved it, but felt there was too big and heavy a bun. She would have enjoyed less bread. Will return."

  • "Food was superb! Wait staff professional! Wish we weren't seated next to a very noisy loud group of ladies that hadn't been out in a long time."
    Dined on 3/27/2014
  • "The Fig and Olive salad is outstanding! The Prix Fixe menu is the best bargain and more than ample sized portions - highly recommend the chicken tajine and the paella.. The chocolate pot for dessert is heavenly."

  • "Love the food as always; great dining experience and beautiful design"

  • "The four of us agreed we had a great meal. I especially love the mushroom croquette. Staff are efficient and attentive. There is a welcoming feeling when you walk through the door and everyone is very accommodating . Great place to go when you don't want to drive into the city. Nice restaurant for wine and tapas if you don't want full meal."

  • "The manager found a table for our large party of 8 on a Sat night. He really went out of the way to ensure everything went smoothly. And the food was excellent."

  • "Fig and Olive Westchester never disappoints. The food is always good and the Crostini variations are always enjoyable. Everything is fresh and the service always good. It does transcend the fact that it is situated in the middle of a small mall (Lord & Taylors, but still a mall), but once you've entered and are seated, you completely forget where you are. The food is fabulous."

  • "My wife and I went to dinner here during Hudson Valley restaurant week. We ordered from the price fixe special menu and were very happy with the available choices and the quality, presentation, and service. We had an excellent meal at a very good value. My wife said it is her new favorite neighborhood restaurant after just one meal. The regular menu is a bit pricy but for a special occasion it is a very nice treat."

  • "Loved the dinner at Fig and Live. Not my first time there but the chef was really "on" the only complaint I have is it is a bit too noisy when it is packed with people. My salmon was really delicious and cooked just as I ordered it with a crispy skin to boot."

  • "Terrific across the board. Great service, great food and and great bright open ambience. We will be back!"

  • "My friend and I went during restaurant week but did not avail ourselves of the restaurant week special lunch. Instead we ordered from the regular lunch menu and had a lovely lunch."
    Dined on 3/19/2014
  • "Food was terrible and didn't have any flavor. The meal that I had was the chicken plate from the restaurant week menu. My meal was comprised of three chicken thighs, I really didn't know a fancy restaurant like this one would serve the thigh part of the chicken and call it a meal. My friend had the risotto which looked like it came out of a rice a roni box. My overall experience was not good and I will not return to this restaurant."

  • "This is the third time here, this time with my children. It was Restaurant Week. The menu had several good options. It was enjoyed by all."

  • "It was bustling at lunchtime, yet the service was attentive Our waitress strongly suggested some items -- more as if it was a given that's what you were expected to order. Overall, we enjoyed the lunch. The mushroom croquettes were so delicous that we both agreed that we would come back just for them. We originally were interested in the lobster bisque, but then saw that including lobster meat came with a $6 extra charge. My friend's chicken paillard came with quite a bit of salad (on top of the chicken). My fish (they ran out of cod so salmon was substitued) was ok. We were both quite happy with the smooth chocolate pot de creme for dessert - nice way to end the meal. This is a nice place to lunch with your girlfriends on a shopping day."

  • "The food at Fig & Olive was phenomenal! It was my first time dinning there and it was fantastic. I definitely recommend coming here."

  • "A couple friends and I went for restaurant week. We all agreed the appetizers were really good. The crostinis were amazing. We could eat those all night with some Malbec. Beef carpaccio was average as was the carrot soup. The entrees didn't blow us away but the cheesy mushroom risotto was the best we had ever tried. Chicken tajine tasted like homemade Indian chicken curry without the spice. Veal Milanese was done well but the pesto pasta was overdressed in olive oil. The ambience was great. Perfect lighting for a romantic date or for dinner with friends. Rustic yet modern. Clean lines and elegant. Would recommend dining here to all."

  • "I love the food although they give you small portions. The service is excellent and twice we had the same waiter William who went above and beyond to make our visit wonderful. My 11 year old son loved William and wants him to be our waiter all the time"

  • "had a great brunch here. loved the vibes. service was great."

  • "Came her on Sunday for restaurant week.. The selection was very nice on the restaurant week menu. However, the lychee martini and the 10 cane raspberry mojito's were the best part of the dinner. The mushroom croquettes were very tasty! The lobster bisque was not as hot as it should have been. The paella was lacking flavor and needed a great amount of salt, the veal milanse was very tough but still tasty with the parmigian shavings were a nice touch. The chocolate pot dessert was also a tasty treat! WOuld come back for sure!"

  • "Brunch was affordable and very tasty. A great way to try out this restaurant without breaking the bank on dinner prices. The service was great too. The staff is well trained in providing an elegant dining experience."

  • "One of my favorite places. The food is great, the prices are fair and they accommodate the best they can for gluten-free. The noise levels however are always loud."

  • "Been to the ones in Manhattan several times. Glad they have one in Westchester, nice interior and good energy even though it's in a mall strip area. It would be nice if located along the Hudson River in Irvington or towns close to the river."

  • "Had an awesome experience! Wonderful food and great service!"

  • "We went for Restaurant Week. We have eaten at this establishment before and it has always been wonderful. Not his time. We sat towards the front of the restaurant this time. Appetizers were thrown on our table as the wait staff rushed to the next table. The appetizers were literally hanging off of the side of the table. The waiter disappeared for way too long. We had to get another waiter to call him. Our waiter spoke inaudibly and, frankly, looked like he was on another planet. When our food finally arrive, the wrong dishes were placed in front of us. They should not have been so overwhelmed, as was clearly the case. I certainly will wait before I ask anyone to join us at this restaurant anytime soon."

  • "This was our fifth visit to Fig and Olive and we continue to be pleased. Restaurant Week brought us here this time. The food was excellent, the service very good and the ambiance captivating. If the restaurant were closer to us, it would become our favorite place to dine."
    Dined on 3/10/2014
  • "This was a refreshingly different lunchtime experience. The menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine, and is imaginative and well presented. We had the restaurant week special, and unlike other reviewers who found portion sizes here anemic, this was not our experience. I started with a giant bowl of mussels, which were very tasty although slightly bereft of broth, followed by a cod filet accompanied by two different sauces. It was very good, but it had not been fully deboned so you had to be careful. We selected a chocolate mouse type offering for dessert that was not as inspired, but still a nice finish. But, bargain hunters be warned; a glass of wine ran my friend a cool fifteen dollars, so consider that if you are trying to economize."

  • "Food was delicious service was great. We were there for restaurant week so prices were good otherwise a little expensive."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "We used the groupon deal which worked nicely and the choices for the discounted price seemed to be great. However, the actual quality of the food was not good. The portions were very small. I ordered the paella that lacked flavor and was a very small amount. My husbands filet mignon was over cooked and burnt and came with hardly any mashed potatoes on the plate. The staff was nice but and the ambience was decent but we would not go back especially for originally listed prices. It's not even worth the groupon price sadly."

  • "I had heard about Fig & Olive many times, being a chef myself. I always wanted to have dinner at the Meatpacking district location. Being that my husband and I live in Riverdale we decided to try the Scarsdale location. We very much enjoyed our experience at Fig & Olive. The service was impeccable and the food was beyond delicious. We expect excellent food and service and that's exactly what we got."
    Dined on 10/26/2013
  • "The food quality is nearly close, but the wait staff and hosts are no where near as good as they are at F&O's NYC locations. We've been to the Meat Packing location about 6 times and every one of the experiences was positive and memorable. I always include my food allergies when using OpenTable, and no one acknowledged them on the two visits to the Scarsdale location. The host came to see how we liked our appetizers and said "Wow, it looks like you didn't even get any food"! He was commenting because all of us cleaned our plates, but it was arrogant of him to not ask if we truly enjoyed the food. Don't recommend going to this location with a Groupon. The host made us feel like second-class citizens when seating us."
