this is a small restaurant- could barely get into the seat at the table- had to take my coat off and take care not to get into the other dinners face at the table next to mine. there is no liquor here only wine and beer- very expensive wine by the glass. no wine bottles under $50.oo food was ok- overpriced as usual- i would have rated this better if the space wasnt so small- that really bothered me.

We had been wanting to try Fig and Olive for quite some time. Suffice it to day, the food was good, but certainly not great. Started with the crab cakes and lobster bisque (both fantastic) and tuna carpaccio (not worth your time). Hubby got the salmon (he said it was "fine") and I got the truffle risotto (I expected it to be so much better then it was). The place is cute and I'm glad we went, but I can't imagine we would go back so fast. Our waiter was inattentive- didn't ask how our meal or food was once. Just brought the check at the end. Also, every course came out 3 seconds after the last- felt rushed and unnatural.

We are neighbors and drop in to F & O with some regularity and I have to say that the staff there are really good across the board; very friendly without being overly casual or too invasive. The wine list is not huge but very good variety and decent price range. In short, a good option for a nice restaurant without the big big prices of some other nearby options.

The food was delicious, but the level of noise and small space between tables was a bit annoying. My suggestion would be for the restaurant to make a little improvement in the accoustic (such as placing foam accoustic panels under the tables and chairs), so that clients that wish to have a conversation during lunch would not get so stressed.

My only complaint about the place is that they sat us right next to this big vent. It was loud and dusty and really killed the ambiance for me. I know it's an extra 2 people that you're serving, but there really shouldn't be a table there. It's just not cool and quite frankly kind of uncomfortable. We would have asked for a different table but the place was full. Now I know that when I make a reservation to specifically request not sitting by that vent.

I liked the food a lot. My complaint is that the white cloth napkin pilled all over my skirt. I was returning to work so we asked for a lint brush but they did not have one. They need better cloth napkins. I will probably not go there during my work day again since I had fabric fibers for the rest of the afternoon.

I had forgotten how good food at Fig & Olive was. Was induced to return by e-mail offering 6 free crostini, and offer was fulfilled no fuss no muss. We had the manchego/fig, shrimp/avocado and crab/tomato - all simple and delicious. Went on to have the octopus and a faro/quinoa salad, my daughter the branzino. Everything was really very good and the chocolate pot de creme outrageous. Service was attentive but not obtrusive, we were seated at front of restaurant where it was very calm/quiet, and check came in timely fashion. What more could one want? We will be back.

Had 5 pm dinner with friends and there were many people having wine and appetizers or maybe finishing lunch - all-day opening hours keep a restaurant lively. We did not have any of the tapas, but rather regular dinners of paella and lamb chops and chicken, and it was all delicious, but would like to return for the assorted small plates at the long, attractive bar area. Good coffee and desserts, and the portions were perfect for us, although I think they might be considered a bit stingy by some diners used to a fuller plate.

We had a great dinner and terrific service. Our waiter also made some excellent wine suggestions for us. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because our table was next to the service station which was unavoidable unless we wanted to wait for another table to open up. All-around though it was a lovely dinner.

We had a very nice Sunday brunch. The crab cake eggs Benedict were excellent, as was the french toast. Also enjoyed the fig & olive salad. Service was very attentive, with frequent refills on ice tea and coffee. Portion sizes were on the small side (e.g., very small crab cake and one poached egg). Location nice for a group of six, and not too noisy. We would definitely go again.

Love fig & olive, have been to all the other locations. This was our first time at this branch and it was TERRIBLE from stale bread to a wine glass that smelled unclean. The food was okay, not on par with the other locations, though. When our dessert was unavailable at the last minute the strawberry crostini was substituted with a cherry dessert without informing us. After I checked the menu and asked what happened to the strawberry crostini I had ordered I was given a small bowl of 4 sliced strawberries. It was bizarre. Our waiter, who turned out to be the manager then told us "nobody died." Extremely rude and obnoxious. Will not be back.

I'm a fan of the Fig & Olive in Meatpacking so not totally objective, since I just love their decor and menue. The place in Meatpacking is the opposite of the Upper East side venue which is perfect, when you are looking for a place to have a nice conversation and still enjoy good food. The noise level is low if you don´t sit next to a loud group of people of course.. Where as in Meatpacking there is a vibrant bar scene, great DJ, many tables and thus lots of people talking louder & louder. During the weekend before going out I love to start my evening there. But for a soft dinner, Fig & Olive Uptown is a nice spot, which I highly recommend! Very attentive staff, the salads & desserts are so good! And the truffle croquettes, amazing!!

My husband, daughter and I went for a quick meal at the the Fig and Olive and $250 later, we were scratching our heads. The food was very good and the service was decent....the prices were so out of line for this restaurant, we will never go back. Having dined at many, many restaurants in NYC, we are accustomed to overpaying for our meals but this nondescript, cramped neighborhood restaurant did not fit the bill.
