  • "Fig & Olive was recommended by a colleague who lives in the area. Great recommendation. It was the last evening of DineLA and got a great deal on the prix fixe. Love that they incorporated items from their regular menu, although the prix fixe does not offer the full serving. Regardless, it was just right. My hubby had the boullabaise, which was prepared perfect. The seafood arrived 'dry' and they poured a carafe of lobster bisque over it. Nice presentation. The rosemary herbed lamb chops (+$6) came out smokin'. Nice smokey flavor, but probably could use a little more spice and seasoning. We ordered the 3 crostinis although I wished we would've gotten the 6. They were amazing. Everything was amazing. Great evening."

  • "Came here for DineLa Restaurant Week - seemed to have the most intriguing menu. We just loved everything about the restaurant from it's modern Med design to the inventive menu to the wonderful rosemary bread and olive oil for dipping (heavenly - we took a bottle home with us). We just couldn't decide what to eat - we shared 3 crostini (excellent), he had the lobster bisque and I had the tartare - both were very good. He had the filet (very tender) - I had the lamb chops, which had a really wonderful flavor and nice char- perfectly cooked - I wanted to gnaw at the bone ... The desserts of chocolate crème pot and the sweet crostini were really amazing with my fresh mint tea. Service was very good."

  • "The food was interesting. Gazpacho was a bit spicy, and I prefer smooth to chunky, but that's just me. The chicken tajine was interesting. The desserts were delish....pot de crème and strawberry shortcake. Service was excellent. Staff was very attentive and on the ball, and very nice, not snooty like at some restaurants."

  • "It was the last day of LA Restaurant Week and it was packed! Unfortunately, our table was an after thought upstairs stuck in the back with no view. It was extremely cramped quarters and the people around us couldn't even back out of their chairs without us moving. Otherwise, it was a lovely, modern restaurant with great service and food!"

  • "We were thilled with everything but the food. It was pretty, priced right, served well...but...it was tasteless. How can a french omlet be tasteless? my partner had gasbecho and mine is sooooooooo much better...he also had pialla (?) and it was also pretty but not good. Since my partners great nephew is in management of your restaurant we were excited to go as we were entertaining friends...but the cook doesn't know how to cook well enough to be at this fine restaurant."

  • "Delicious bread, oils, crab-cake benedict. Half of our party took advantage of DineLA, the other half of the regular amazing menu. Everyone was in heaven. We are educators who were celebrating an end to a successful summer program and wanted to thank our Teaching Assistants. They felt very appreciative. Only glitch -- our waitress disappeared. Another one came in to take wonderful care of us but she was stretched and didn't come by as often as she might have. Still -- such a great find! We will be back!"

  • "We are only in the area a few times a year and always make sure to include this restaurant during our visit. Always great food, that is vert creative and presented beautifully. This year we did the Dine L.A. Menu....what a great menu and great value. The regular price of my Filet Mignon salad was equal to the price of the three course special menu. Great atmosphere and terrific service."

  • "Really liked the food, ambience and for the most part, service. I did not like asking for a Sauvignon Blanc glass of wine and being brought it and finding out it's the only one on the wine list and the most expensive. It's really noisy when it's full. Best to go on off hours if possible."

  • "I took my wife to Fig & Olive for her birthday, and...we LOVED it!! The Fig & Olive salad was delicious, and the truffle mushroom croquettes were... beyond scrumptious!! She had the lamb chops...I had the filet mignon. I really loved the ambiance too...not really wild and modern (like BOA), but just "elegantly casual." Service was terrific. We WILL be back there, soon!!"

  • "We did dinela and maybe their food was disappointing because of it....? I really wanted to love it but the food was bleh. We got the carpaccio which was typical and too salty. The lobster bisque tasted watered down. My salmon tartar was bland. My husband's mussel arborio tasted fine except they gave very little seafood. We sat upstairs and it seemed that was where they sat all the dinela folks. The downstair is nicer with a ny feel. The dessert was good for both our meals especially my husband's chocolate mousse. The service was good. Overall we were disappointed with the food."

  • "For Dine n LA week we always do something old and something new...well Fig & Olive was our new experience and it wowed us at every turn! We were late for our reservation but was seated immediately. The water Mike (cool hair) was there within minutes and was very helpful! We started with El Matador cocktails and from that moment on our palates were pleasantly pleased!! The prices are reasonable and the portions are plentiful so there's enough to share...I will definitely return to F&O"

  • "We were greeted with a smile by two friendly hosts, who offered to take us immediately to our table but once we mentioned that our entire party hadn't arrived yet, kindly offered to have a bartender take care of us at the bar. Once our group was complete, we made our way to our table which was in the center of the room under the fig tree. Our server was incredibly attentive. Even the manager of the restaurant came to make sure all was well while we enjoyed our meals. From start to finish, we felt incredibly cared for. The food was amazing, which was matched by equally amazing service. The ambience was beautifully perfect for my dinner party. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my family, friends and clients!"

  • "Fig & Olive is a total scene - get dressed up and get ready for lots of people watching in a beautiful venue. The food is okay, I think the cocktails greatly outshine the entrees and apps (with the exception of the Crostinis, especially the strawberry one for dessert). The staff is nice, but they remind me of the stereotypical aspiring actors: Gorgeous but not the smartest around. However, everyone was very attentive and polite. Valet is $8. All street parking have a 2 hour limit until very late at night."

  • "Fig and Olive is one of the few top-tier LA restaurants that haven't left me a bit disappointed at one time or another, and is the ONLY place I've eaten so far for DineLA that didn't give me the vague impression that they reserve their best dishes for their regular menu. Case in point: the generous plate of succulent lamb chops served up last night. They bring them too the table garnished with a still-smoking sprig of rosemary (they were rosemary smoked) that left the whole dining room smelling like incense. My only complaint was that they were a bit salty, possibly from being brined, but the flavor was still fantastic. Service was a bit off, but our server and the manager more than made up for it with wine and dessert on the house."

  • "I''ve been there before for lunch and the atmosphere is totally different. I went to dine this time and the noise level is almost unbearable. You have to shout every time to be listened to, and on top of that you hear endless beat, beat music in the background that makes it even worse. I will never go back to dine for that single reason. Lunch is ok."

  • "We had another Dine L.A. lunch there on a week day, choice was excellent (quinoa salad, salmon tartar, chocolat pot de creme, wich was heavenly!). We had a six piece sample of their bruschetta first: yummy little toasts, just a mouthful of surprising taste combinations, loved the one with Marcona almonds & cheese and one with super tender bacon... Wine list is good, service friendly and not pushing. Room was full, but I could hear every single word my friends were saying,which - in L.A. these days! - is one of the strongest arguments for this lovely place. Great food AND not deaf the next day from yelling and music and something that sounds like a departing Airbus in the kitchen?! Come on, "Fig & Olive" really is an oasis of feel good!"

  • "I love the light and comfortable seating, the live rosemary bushes and the buzzy ambiance. As a food lover I enjoyed the olive oil samplers on the table and the bread is wonderful. The service was of much higher quality than one usually finds in LA, the wait staff unobstrusive but very responsive, they made us feel well taken care of while managing not to interfere with our dining experience. The crostini are my favorite, I will definitely be back to try more. The salads are amazing, perfectly dressed and with slightly unexpected but wonderful combinations of ingredients exciting to the palate. My lunch guest was a British author who has had many excellent culinary adventures and even he loved the food. We'll be back!"

  • "Opted for the Dine L.A. Menu. But added the crostini which I wanted my guest to try. The appetizers and desserts were excellent, especially the truffle croquettes. The entrees did not live up to our expectations.....fish in the paella was over cooked. Wines by the glass are very overpriced. Lovely ambience and friendly service, but be prepared for a very pricey bill! Enjoyed the olive oil/bread sampler!"
