The Meatpacking location definitely lived up to the high standards that were set as well. We treated Mom to brunch for Mother's Day this year and it was wonderful. The food and drinks were great and we especially appreciated that we were not rushed due to the hustle and bustle of the crowd given the day it was. I don't know if our server said one word to us, actually -- perhaps a few to get us started. A server with charm, personality, great suggestions and flexibility makes the whole experience come together. Our server this past Sat. was missing these qualities. I will always go back -- but don't fall into the trap of aloof, elitist service, F&O! You're a gem. The floor manager, Diane, is amazing and orchestrates the seating of walk-ins, reservation holders and late-comers with great ease, professionalism and energy. She always makes us feel so welcome and she is definitely one of the reasons we come back again and again. Not to mention the amazing, fresh, delicious dishes that were served by the friendly and wonderful waiter, Eddie.
All in all, a wonderful time was had by all. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to one and all. The olive oil tasting was quite interesting. We all liked the food, but I don't think it was so exceptional that we would be itching to go back again next visit. A few days later, a manager of the restaurant contacted me and invited me in for a complimentary dinner in the hopes of changing my mind about the restaurant . . . and it sure worked! This past Saturday I had dinner with a friend at Fig & Olive Meatpacking and we had a wonderful time! The restaurant is gorgeous. The staff are all so welcoming. And the food was exceptional! We ordered a fig and cheese crostini and the crabcakes as appetizers, and both were very good. The entrees are what really hit the mark! I had the lamp chops and my friend had the filet mignon, and we both practically licked our plates! It was perfect and she really appreciated the atmosphere and service provided by the establishment. The menu selection was very good and the quality of the food excellent, whilst not being expensive. The staff managed to seat us on time during the busy Easter season. The service was excellent , the food was delicious and the ambiance was great. My friend actually asked to to see a copy of the weekly lunch menu so he can plan his next visit.

My Wife and I shared the Lobster Salad, Crostinis, Lobster Bisque, and Tuna Crudo. For entree we shared the Branzino. The whole table-side element was really great.
For Dessert we shared the tasting, not sure who "Andrew" is, but it was delicious. As well as the Marzipan Cake. That was very good as well.

This time I tried the Fettuccine Shrimp Mascarpone, even though I rarely eat pasta. Absolutely amazing!! The sauce had great flavor and was not heavy in texture. Of course, the pasta was high quality along with the jumbo shrimp. Even though my friend and I were stuffed, we ordered the dessert sampler which is perfect for a sweet ending. It has a little bit of everything and is great for two people to share. Also the staff is very attentive to your dining needs. The waitstaff and bar crew are focused, attentive, professional and friendly. The sad thing is we always order the same dishes, as we love them so much: tuna carpaccio, the fig gorgonzola tartlet, truffle risotto, and pumpkin sage ravioli.
I guess we'll just have to go back again to try the other dishes. Not only is the food fantastic but there service could not have been better. I have brought visitors from out of town to eat here and this has been there favorite restaurant each time.
