  • "Had the salmon tartare, lamb chops and chocolate mousse from the Restaurant Week menu. Everything was delicious and we were very full after."

  • "Wouldn't try again with other amazing restaurants in the area. Food nothing special and had to ask for too many things. Server doesn't read the guests. Stuffy at the host stand. Times are different-you are not doing us a favor by letting us dine there..."

  • "Great party. Enjoyed be all. Service and food extra.special."

  • "We had dinner on a saturday evening, reservation at 8.45. We had a perfect table overlooking the great bar with wines up to the ceiling. There was plenty of choice for wines, in every price-category. The food was very good. We loved the chicken tajine and the choice of Cafe Gourmand. Service was excellent, and the bill was reasonable for what we got. We will definitely return here."

  • "I have been to F&G before and this was the least memorable time. Food is barely ok. The service is not good. I ordered soup and the waiter forgot to bring it. When I reminded him he brought it towards the end of my meal and the lobster bisque was too fishy tasting and smelling. The specialty cocktails are super expensive and very tiny with out any taste except for the specialty ingredients...way to sweet and on the cheesy side of sophistication. Very passé. The appetizers are large and do not leave room for anything else. One of the vegetable sides/apps had a funny taste and even my vegan/vegetarian friend didn't want to eat it. We sat outside and let's just say the sights and sounds of the meat packing district are an assault on the eyes"

  • "food was unusually prepared and good for the most part. I did not feel that the staff was friendly or glad we were there. The restaurant is very comfortable and pretty."

  • "Fig and Olive was highly recommended to me by my brother and his friends, so my friend and I went here on her birthday for the first time. We were extremely impressed with the restaurant's layout, food and staff. We did not know what to expect, it surpassed all expectations."

  • "Great atmosphere, delicious selections. Perfect for date night or a special occasion."

  • "Management and wait staff left a lot to be desired on the particular evening we went. This restaurant was one for my bucket list but because we were not even acknowledged by wait staff or management for a full 18 minutes after we were seated (only after I spoke up very frustratedly, TWICE) I almost got up and left. Except that Scott, our busboy, saved us from leaving by taking our drink order and being very attentive from then on. Thankfully the food was incredible. I tried to find the managers after the meal and roamed the restaurant for about five minutes while our waitress and the bartender stared and chatted and shot us evil looks. Luckily I found both of them outside smoking together when I left out of frustration. Never again."

  • "The service was mediocre at best. The food appeared interesting but was bland. I would not go back to this restaurant. I expected much more..."
    Dined on 7/13/2014
  • "I loved their party music selections... which makes sense being in such a party town... it got me in the mood. However, I was not impressed w/ the lamp chops... chicken selection was much better."

  • "This was my first time at the restaurant. Food was outstanding, service was great. Ruth was our waitress, she was outstanding and experienced, she knew how to time each serving from appetizers to salad to main and then dessert. Was not rushed and enjoyed the whole night. Definitely going back."

  • "Our reservation was made with no hassle. We got there just on time. We were professionally ushered to our seats. Our orders were served in good time without a long wait. Our waiter was very knowledgeable with the menu and the preparation of the food. Good dining."

  • "This is only my second time at the Meatpacking location, and it definitly was amazing! It was a rare mild non-humid night and we were givin the option to sit outside. The outdoor seating was very plesant as not many cars drive down this particular street. The food was AMAZING as usual, so what really impressed me was the attentiveness of the waiter. Sometime when you sit outside, the wait staff will forget about you because you aren't part of the typical flow for them. Our waiter checked on us frequently, and I was never left with an empty drink. My new favorite Meatpacking Hot Spot for dinner!"

  • "Fabulous food -- interesting combinations beautifully presented. Fresh ingredients, delicious marrying of flavors. Easy to have a light lunch that thoroughly satisfies and is fun to eat. Intelligent wait staff who warned us off ordering two dishes with essentially the same ingredients. Will return for sure."

  • "If you look for a noisy, unpleasant place serving below average food this is your place! I'd rather skip dinner than go back. It is not worth a single cent considering that you have superb other places in the very close neighborhood. A waste of time and money."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "That's really it. The food was terrific. I had truffle mushroom croquettes and the Mediterranean branzino, then split the dessert sampler. Everything was terrific. My companion had the lobster salad and seriously considered ordering a second one to take home. This place is worth a try."

  • "I have dined at the midtown location and had a stellar experience. I expected a similar experience at this location. Great neighborhood. Visually very attractive, both the decor and the patrons. Youthful vibe. Seating very cramped. Noise level not conducive to normal conversation. Different vibe from the mid-town location. Food was typically very flavorful and appropriate portions. Ordered a few appetisers and they were all served simultaneously creating a challenging table arrangement which became an unpleasant dining experience. Overall, I will most likely not return. There are far too many options in this neighborhood to endure this less than satisfactory experience."

  • "I've been to Fig and Olive in LA and NYC. I love it. I think the food is great, drinks are great, and decor is so soothing. it's a bit pricey when you're done, so go for an occasion or if someone else is buying. be sure to order something with Figs in it. divine! and they brought free bday dessert, which was "icing on the cake"."

  • "Food is very good. 4 of us dined. We had the cheeses, olives, beef carpaccio & truffle mushroom croquettes to start. All fabulous. The mains were also good, especially the paella. The space is huge & attractive. We had a 7:00pm reservation & it was relatively empty. For some inexplicable reason, they wanted to jam diners into the smallest area possible. We asked to be seated elsewhere but were told they weren't seating guests in the more roomy areas of the restaurant so we were offered cramped or slightly less cramped. With regard to service it was good whilst we were eating but once the food was done it was practically impossible to get any attention for either a drink or coffee. Hoping it was an anomaly as food was great. Would try again."

  • "The Fig & Olive was outstanding. We enjoyed every bit of it, from the appetizers to our main course. The service was perfect. We would definitely go back again."

  • "My soon to be married friend and I went here for a girls night out. We were there early (7:15 reservation) and were seated immediately outside. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. We ordered 3 crostinis with the goat cheese and fig being our favorite. I ordered the Filet Mignon and my friend the Rosemary Chicken. Both were delicious but I think I liked the Rosemary chicken the best. Drinks were good. We got the sharing dessert and everything was great. Would definitely go back."

  • "I have been to Fig & Olive a few times and I absolutely love it! the food is delicious, the fig with manchengo crostini is a must. I had brunch with my friend and the service was great, the waiter was very attentive and helped us with our drink selection."

  • "Overall great experience. Desserts were weak, but meals and drinks were yummy. This is a high end chain that's offers a consistent above par experience."

  • "I have been to Fig & Olive Meatpacking before and the food is really scrumptious and so it's the ambiance. However, this time, the waiter gave us a pretty bad service, although late Sunday night restaurant wasn't busy at all. He was not acknowledged on the actual execution of the dishes, he was slow and never checked on us. He brought bread and olive oil with the entrees, after I asked 3 times. The berry crostata was scrumptious but had very little cream (custard?) in it. When I asked him if we could have more cream, he just brought a little pitcher of heavy cream... By the time we finished, I was too tired to complain with management."

  • "We have been to this restaurant several years ago, and were somewhat concerned about returning after reading some negative reviews. However, we found it perfectly delightful, with excellent, interesting food and attentive service in a lovely room."

  • "This is one of the best dating restaurants in NYC."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "It is a beautiful restaurant. The service was much improved from the first time I ate there. I tried the salmon tartar which was excellent. I would definitely go back."
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "The space is beautiful, but it is a large place oriented for a tourist crowd. I felt rushed from the moment I sat down. I had barely looked at the drinks menu before I was being asked what I wanted. Neither my waiter nor the waitstaff had any sense of pacing and my dinner was constantly interrupted with water being poured and my being asked if I had finished my course yet. The waitstaff was clumsy and inexperienced. The goal of this place is to get as many diners in and out as possible each night. Appetizers and drinks were good.....main meal was not freshly made.....simply warmed up. I would never recommend this place and I will never return."
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "After having dined at the two Fig & Olives uptown, we were looking forward to trying the Meatpacking District's version. What a contrast - this place is huge! It has to be at least 4 times the size of the other restaurants, so a lot of the charm and intimacy is lost. This is clearly more of a downtown, hip, trendy, energetic vibe. The food did not seem quite up to the standards we expected, but that might have been due to the difference in the ambience. Crostini were excellent, branzino was good, the tagine was disappointing."

  • "Delicious food for bruch, but had to ask for things too many times--like coffee refill or extra yogurt. Restaurant is decorated very beautifully."
    Dined on 6/22/2014
  • "Average service but great food & environment. Definitely should look at improving their service to match the food & ambiance."
