Diner Reviews
  • "That was my first time at Fig&Olive for brunch. The menu offers good options. My plate was good and the dessert was AMAZING! YUM! However, the waitress seemed rushed and all over the place. She would come to our table but not make eye contact since she was busy looking around. No one asked me if I wanted another drink (which I would if someone asked!) - just need improvement on the service. Also, a waiter dropped the tray right behind me and cups fell on my back - which is fine, it happens, but he didn't even apologized for the incident."

  • "Fig & Olive is a neighborhood gem. So much city going on in Meatpacking, we frequent Fig & Olive regularly. The scene is wonderful. The food is spectacular... Always consistent. The wait staff friendly and so accommodating. This is a five star for sure. We've brought guests and they feel the same about Fig & Olive Truly a great dining experience"

  • "Can't say enough about the choice of delicious food, and how it is expertly prepared and presented. From chicken tangine to beef carpaccio to zucchini blossoms and goat cheese raviolis. Prix fixe dinner is a great value, even for non-dessert eaters like myself. Because the desserts are worth eating in this case. Tables a little too close together, but it is a complaint that I will live with. Nice to sit on the outside patio when weather permits."

  • "This restaraunt and its wonderful staff never fails to impress. I have been going there for romantic date nights several times a month with varying degrees of frequency. Despite that, the staff is always eager to get us our favorite table and sends over complimentary appetizers which is always an unexpected but wonderful touch that enhances the already wonderful experience. We have recommended Fig and Olive to all of our friends and will continue to return to what has clearly become our "Favortite Date Night Restaurant""

  • "Excellent service and attention to detail. The prix fix meal is a good bargain. Everyone enjoyed their meal - we all love the crostini both as appetizer and the dessert. And the restaurant is lovely."

  • "We heard some good things about Fig and Olive and decided to try it out for brunch. We made reservations, got seated on time, our waiter took our drinks order and since we were starving our appetizer and main course. 25 minutes later our appetizers arrived and still no drinks. After the waiter brought over our drinks (prompted by my husband), it took an HOUR for our food to arrive. By then my daughter was STARVING and we were ready to get And leave. When we finally got our food, no apology from the waiter, I had to ask him what was taking so long and he said they were short staffed with a large party. I get that things happen, but we noticed that there were several people who came after us that we're served their food earlier! NEVER AGAIN!"

  • "My first visit to the Meatpacking area. Great neighborhood! Loved the food, had Sea Bass, so good! Only dislike was the noise level. Live DJ was mixing good music, but over the top loud for. Resturant."

  • "Good food, good service. The noise though,is at supreme levels. Don't count on making conversation (unless one talks to oneself)."

  • "This was a first time visit and I went to celebrate my birthday. The food was great and so was the ambiance. The Hosts were great and accommodated us quickly. The service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress seemed to be rushed the whole time and uninterested in serving us. We had to flag her down a couple of times including to pay our bill. We honestly wanted to order more drinks and food, but she never came back, and when she did she never offered. Overall it was an okay experience. Would definitely go back, just would make sure I had a different server."

  • "Though I was disappointed in the service on this occasion, Fig & Olive remains one of my favorite NYC dining experiences. The flavor combinations and presentation of each dish are fantastic and memorable."

  • "This dinner was a return trip to Fig& Olive. My first meal their was a family outing on the weekend, and it was thoroughly enjoyed. This was a business dinner with several colleagues who enjoyed the professional service, and the well prepared meal. The atmosphere was conducive to business discussions, and everyone agree they would like to return."

  • "We made an early reservation for dinner, knowing it would be more quiet. This was our second time here. First time the place was full and the noise level was what you would expect in a full room. We actually arrived early, it is hard to time a walk down the HighLine, and they accommodated us with no fuss. Service was very good, staff was attentive. Food was as described on the Pri Fixe menu. Prepared just so. I had Seared Tuna, and it was not over done. My wife's Bouillabaise was great, she especially like the squid. Dessert was also well done, We had one of each, both were excellent."

  • "The food and atmosphere were great. New fav in the meat packing district!"

  • "The intuitive wait staff of the Upper East Side location are amazing, in anticipating your every need - - with a smile. The meatpacking location is the opposite. The are efficent but nothing more. The food is not comcsistant between the two locations., as it is far spicier, thus tastier at 52nd."

  • "Although busy and pretty noisy, we managed to have a romantic dinner . Enough room in between tables, excellent service, impeccable food , everything modern and fresh and friendly . Itight become a favorite place for us"

  • "Every dish -from the appetizer to the dessert- was delicious. The best dish my wife and I tried was the chicken tajini, highly recommended and really representaive of the flavors you'll find in the restaurant. The warm chocolate souffle and the creme brulee cheesecake were also particularly memorable. The only blemish is the timing of the service. While the main course was brought about two minutes after the appetizers (we weren't even halfway through), dessert took forever. However considering everything we loved it and will come back."

  • "This place is ridiculously overpriced fir the quality. $13 wines marked up to $60 and $42 steaks that didn't even taste like prime."

  • "Had not been back in a while, and decided to have an early dinner last Sunday. Fig & Olive remains outstanding for its food, service, drinks and ambiance... and the seating is comfortable too! The menu is creative and the wine list comprehensive. Friendly server helped put it all together. Also appreciated being seated, although one member from our party was running late. Thanks... Will certainly be back, soon!"

  • "Their Veal Capaccio is the B. E. S. T !!! They also have good wine selection at moderate price and the service is outstanding. Fig & Olive is one of my favorite so I go often for lunch and dinner. They never made me disappointed!!! I love Fig and Olive.."

  • "Really enjoyed our meals. Tuna crudo and Primavera Lobser Risotto were really good. Desert was a letdown. (skip the creme brulee cheesecake). Service was a bit slow."

  • "Great place and the food is excellent. Only complaint (and its a big one) is that the music was way too loud."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "The food here was amazing, but what really does it is the ambiance. Combining earthy colors and soft jazz, the Fig & Olive makes you feel as if you were in Casablanca, Morocco."

  • "Love coming here - the ambiance, service and food is always delicious. I could eat a whole meal of the crostinis alone!"

  • "Great atmosphere and ambiance, live house DJ, great drinks. Had an Opentable reservation for 9 pm for 4 but still had to wait 30 minutes to get seated. What's the point of a reservation then? Manager came out apologizing once we got seated and gave the table an appetizer on the house- Nice gesture. Ordered the lamb. Inconsistent cooking: My meat was so so quality, way too fatty cuts. Gnocchi had a burnt flavor. Although, the other plate at the table was perfect though- great meat, consistent gnocchi. Would definitely stay away from entrees next time and stick to the small plates. Loved the house DJ spinning awesome live tunes. Great house cocktails- solid bartenders. Perfect place for a late dinner to get the night started."

  • "Had another great dinner at Fig & Olive in the Meatpacking District. This is one of my go to date spots, but took a business colleague here for dinner, which worked really well too. Was pleasantly surprised with prosecco and a tasting of crostini, a veritable smorgasbord that delighted the foodie in me and somehow managed not to spoil my appetite for the delicious dinner and wine to come. Looking forward to another meal here again soon!"

  • "Went for dinner with out of town friends and had a great time. We ordered several crostinis to share which were tasty. The house music is thumping but not so loud you can't carry on a conversation. Overall, a good time."

  • "The food was delicious; the service wonderful; the ambiance open and airy. My guest and I had lunch during Restaurant Week. The noise factor was moderate, however, I suspect it might be high at dinnertime with a full house [of patrons]."

  • "I have been wanting to dine at Fig and Olive for a long time but never had the chance or reason to. It was what I expected and even more!! The food was amazing!! It is pricey but it is worth it! • "Heard so much about this venue when visiting the City that never sleeps. I don't know if it was a Saturday thing but the resident DJ was on the decks in the bar and it was simply extremely loud in all areas of the restaurant. I love music I am not an old ..... but we could not hold any conversation or even give our order without shouting. This is surely too much. Food was good but the experience was just ruined. I think it's a situation where no one would complain ( just not cool) but if one person did and they took it down by 50% everyone would think that's great this place still has bags of atmosphere, good music and I can also talk to my friends over dinner.at e pump up the volume after 10.30 to attract the pre clubbing people to bar"

  • "We all started our sunday afternoons off the right way- with Prosecco. I had the French 75 and it was great. As for food, I opted for the "south of France poached eggs with salmon". The 2 perfectly poached eggs were perched on top of a slices of gravlox and avocado, on a crostini smothered with a layer of a ricotta-harissa-cream cheese spread. Though I was afraid the spread would be too heavy for my taste, it was surprisingly light and delicious, the harissa not overpowering but adding just the right amount of flavor. I also got to try some of my friend's fig and walnut pancakes- some of the fluffiest pancakes i've seen, and super delicious. I loved the open, airy vibe, and convenience of having a brunch reservation. I will be back!"
