met here on wed. pm-was pretty busy, glad we had reservations. ambiance was nice, sleek, modern. apps(crostini) were good. order 6 different kinds ($21) and vary it. the caramelized onion/cheese,crab and the shrimp ones were tasty. good start. The dinners were a little variable: the goat cheese ravioli with squash blossoms was very good, the truffle risotto excellent, chicken jardine flavorful, the branzino very-eh. peapods it came on were raw, not a great flavor if you're not expecting it and the fish only ok. i would not recommend the sangria. it sounds way good on the menu, but doesn't live up to it and i love sangria of all types. dessert warm choc souffle really a chocolate lava cake (good one, though), raspberry ice great.

The food was amazing and customer service was impeccable! My friend made a mistake on her order… Not the mistake of the kitchen, yet they easily & without question, replaced her meal. Signture drinks are great!!! Raw bar for appetizers were great. Desserts were amazing. Mouth is still watering from the tagine chicken....

i was meeting an old friend who was visiting nyc and i was looking for a nice place to meet up and have a chat. i looked in the area near her hotel (times square) and convenient for me too, i live uptown. fig and olive ended up being the perfect spot! it had a great atmosphere, was just far enough out of the spot light to not be over crowded with tourists. it had a fantastic menu selection with smaller plates if we just wanted a light bite and a cocktail, and unique tasty entrees too. the service was very good as well. i would highly recommend if you're looking for a fun, interesting place to take some out of towners, or just meeting up with friends. fig and olive will not disappoint! and i can't wait to check out the other locations!

This is a great spot, right near Saks and they have a yummy lunch menu. I have stopped here many times and will be back. They made a few changes to the menu. Nothing that inspired me, but I loved what I did have. I had lunch with my daugher and we split the selection of crostinis, which we always love. We also split the steak panini, which was wonderful, and shared the crabmeat and avacado salad...which was equally delicious. No dessert, lunch was great.

Everything about the Fig & Olive was perfect. We had a table for four in the center of the second floor. The restaurant was fairly busy, but we didn't notice or hear much more than our on table conversation. The wait staff was courteous, knowledgeable and non-intrusive. Food selection was excellent. We chose the Pre-fix menu and everything was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for business lunches, or intimate get togethers.

1 The waiter suggested my sister and I share the classic fig and olive salad because it is so big. It arrived and was really just barely enough for one person. 2 On top of that, they left out the figs in the fig and olive salad. The main ingredient left out? How is that possible?3 We ordered a portion of penne pasta with a simple mascarpone tomato sauce for the two children to share. We explicitly specified they were to share so they provided two plates for them. The pasta came and the waiter placed the bowl on the table. Not only did he not serve the two children as most restaurants do at this level but he didn’t even provide serving spoons for us to do it ourselves.

Our server was attentative and explained the menu and specials. After our wine was served, the waiter brought us a delightful olive oil tasting flight. The appetizer crostinis were outstanding, as well as the cheese and olive platters. The Bronzino for 2 was delicious and deboned table side. We also had the fllet mignon, which was cooked to perfection. Our meal was completed with a dessert sampler- just perfect for everyone to get a taste and not feel guilty. This is a keeper!

We had an overall great experience. Food was delicious and our waiter was excellent, but the reservation system was unacceptable. We had reservations for 7:30pm and were seated at 8.30pm. This was particularly frustrating because we were only a group of 3 and one person in our group had to leave at 9pm. I understand it was the last day of restaurant week, but the restaurant had a pre-fix menu and should be knowledgeable enough to anticipate the rush. Seating us an hour late when we had reservations and were a small group was ridiculous.

Wonderful food, very attentive service. One caveat - reservations are a MUST. I booked on the premise of being "on the safe side," not having any idea what a destination this is. Even with 1pm lunch reservations, we had to wait over 10 minutes to be seated because the place was so crowded. Worth it, just be aware that it's a place with buzz - skip it if you're looking for quiet and intimate.

I have dined at the new Fig&Olive in Chicago several times and decided to try the 5th avenue location since my prior experiences were extremely positive. Unfortunately the seafood paella was severely overcooked and mushy...Maybe it was the throngs of patrons who were dining there for restaurant week but it is high unlikely that I will eat there again.

Second time here, this time trying out the brunch menu and more of the crostini. My friends loved it (they'd never come before). It was quieter than the first time I came, which was in the evening. The food was still fantastic though--I had the truffle fontina and it was filling enough that I couldn't finish it. Both my friends were in love with the chocolate pudding and we ALL managed to finish that. The dining space is spaced out enough that even when this restaurant is crowded you feel like you're not going to knock anyone over, which is something I appreciated and forgot to mention last time.

Went for restaurant week. Food was yummy, service is great. I have had our waitress in the past as well and she is incredibly knowledgeable and great at helping you decide between dishes... if your the sort to have that issue. The TRUFFLE MUSHROOM CROQUETTE makes my mouth do a happy dance, and you cannot go wrong with any of the crostini's.

My husband and I loved it. I was not expecting such sizable portions for restaurant week. Lamb chops and filet mignon were cooked perfectly. I totally got the dessert but my husband would have loved more of the deconstructed strawberry cheesecake. We were seated on the second floor which was very comfortable. Families, birthday celebrations, only happy people in the place. Next time we will go to the Meatpacking District location. Oh yeah, we bought the Fig and Olive CD, too.
