Excellent choices. Truffle and cheese fritters and veal milanese are outstanding. Tiffany and team gave great service. Tables are a bit too close for my comfort, but typical NY. Wish there was a regulation against that.

We wanted to dine at the meatpacking location, but went to the 5th Ave one as a back up. I'm glad! THe service was very good. Our waiter knew the menu well and made a great recommendation for an appetizer. I read a few reviews where some complained about the noise level. We didn't find the noise level to be a problem at all. This was a nice place, with a good vibe. The food was very good and the service was excellent.

Went for dinner with my boyfriend on a Friday night at about 8:30. Service was fantastic and allowed us to sample wines before purchasing by the glass. We ordered a sampling of crostinis for an appetizer. The goat cheese with caramelized onions and the prosciutto with fig were our favorites. I had the provence chicken. While the presentation was nice ( the chicken was served in a hot plate), the chicken was rather dry and tough. There is nothing "special" about F&O in that it would stand out in your mind amongst all the NYC restaurants, nevertheless it is a good restaurant with good (but not out of this world) food. GO GATORS!

That time I wasn't happy with my meal. The tuna had no flavor at all. Other people in my table were luckier. The chilean seabass was perfect. So was the wine. Well, it happens. Still like the restaurant very much.

The fig and olive salad was very tasty and good portion for sharing. For entree the Chilean seabass was drizzled with flavourful herb sauce, sitting on a delicious purée. The portion is medium sized, if you are hungry you might want to order a side too. The filet mignon looked very appetizing and the guest ate the whole plate. The raspberry sorbet was served with meringue and cream in a glass with berries sauce on the side. It was delicious, fruity and a light way to end the meal on a sweet note (enough to share) My only drawback was that it was difficult to get the attention of the waiters whenever we wanted to order. Also surprising that they did not have any brown bread. Service was swift once the orders were made.

Olive and Fig is great restaurant. Small, but fits in good numbers to have an atmosphere. Staff are very professional. Food, well probably the best we had in NYC in two weeks. Would recommend to all travellers. Prices were comparable to Australia, not cheap, but very worth while.

This is a high end restaurant. It is not a welcoming place. I had mentioned that it was my guest's birthday, not even a candle on either of the two desserts we ordered. My guest was left waiting downstairs while I was placed in the upstairs room. The service was perfunctory and rushed. We ordered a bottle of white wine. It was plopped on the table. I had to request that it be placed in a wine bucket. The restroom was overflowing with trash. The food was very good. The waiters, staff and front of the house are not serving their chefs well. That is a shame. I would not go back again.

The food was absoulutely outstanding-truffle appetizer with bechamel was heavenly, filet mignon salad divine, chicken tangine sublime (loved that all the seasonings were separate), pot au chocolate-like sex on a fork, perhaps better! The wine was excellent, even the cappucino was delicious. The waiter was pleasant, attentive, and very knowledgeable. I will definitely recommend Fig and Olive to my friends, and Ill be back!!

The ambiance of this eatery is quite nice and the dishes on the menu seemed promising, however the execution was reasonable. I had the gazpacho and fish with fig, the gazpacho did not taste extremely fresh (maybe some starch was added?) and overall the food was bland and not very exciting. Service is friendly.

I've heard of Fig and Olive before and always wanted to check it out. Let me tell you, I am glad I did. Ambiance is amazing, food is great, signature cocktail drinks are good, and service is good. Needs work in some areas, but the time I made a cameo they may have been short handed. Overall, I was happy. My girlfriend liked the place as well. We enjoyed it! Oh, dessert? Chocolate soufflé was really good. I am not a huge dessert bloke, so for me to like it, you know its good. If you get a chance or want to woo that special someone…well, what are you waiting for?

Great menu, with so many interesting options that when you go for the first time it will be hard to choose what to have. Starting from the Crostinis and little bites all the way to the appetizers and drinks you will start really well. We tried the Crab and the Burrata And both were great. As for the appetizers, DON'T leave without trying the truffle and mushroom croquettes, they're incredible. In the meantime they will bring you a sample of olive oils with bread which makes you wonder why olive oil is not more popular than it is. And I had a very nice Branzino and fig combination at the end. Super attentive and nice service. Only note goes to the setting, which if it is nice and hip stays more on the cramped side, with very small tables.

Made a reservation for our wedding anniversary and was not dissapointed. Asked for a table in a corner with a candle and it happened. Food was fabulous, my wife was so taken with the menu she did not know what to order so she ordered lots of appetizers to be safe. Next time we are in the Big Apple we will go back. We were also given 2 glasses of champagne gratis, without asking. Thanks for a wonderful anniversary dinner.

My friends and I wanted somewhere further east than our usual to try a nice supper. I had seen Fig & Olive's menu at various times, so I decided to give them a try. I can't stress enough how lovely the dinner was for us all. Not a thing was ordered that was not wonderful. Every appetizer, every entree, every dessert was flavorful and filling. Two of us had the chicken tagine, and I highly recommend it. Robust and spicy but not overly hot to the tongue. You dress it yourself, so you have the wheel when it comes to the flavor. To finish, two of us also had the CAFÉ GOURMAND which is a choice of tea or coffee and a smaller version of one of their desserts. It was an absolutely perfect end to a wonderful meal. The service was impecible.

Food was outstanding - especially if you like small plates. The menu is seafood centric with and emphasis on figs and cheeses. As typical for NYC, the tables are very close together and it was somewhat noisy. Also, many were dressed very casually. Therefore, I wouldn't consider it a great date night or special occasion location, but the food was terrific.

Had brunch at Fig and Olive on Fifth on September 6. While the average service and the average food were fine for a Saturday afternoon brunch where the Company I was with was more important than the meal, the end of the meal caused me to never return. As we were paying out check, a man walked through the restaurant begging for money and he would not take no for an answer. Management, waiters and bartenders just stood there as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. Even after the beggar was finally escorted from the restaurant, he was outside waiting for you as soon as you left. I'm used to begging in NYC, but inside a supposed high class bistro? No thanks, not again.
