Good good if pricey. Seating upstairs is tight - not much wiggle room. A bit overwhelming. We were seated near the kitchen but it was quite smokey. We had to be reseated.

The food is expensive, but the quality is worth the price. The clientele is mostly financiers and their expensive women, and the tables are a little close together, but overall the experience is great. The only minus is that the server did try to up-sell us to more food than we needed, especially when we (all petite women) specified we wanted small meals

  • Incredible Evening

My fiancee and I spent our 4 year anniversary here and were blown away by both the food and the service. The waitress was very attentive and upon learning that it was our anniversary, gifted us 2 glasses of excellent champagne. She also was very receptive to my fiancee's dietary restrictions; the chef consulted with us via the waitress. The food came out promptly, and it was absolutely delicious. We started with the cheese platter which had an assortment of fine cheeses and spreads to accompany them. I had the Mediterranean Branzino for an entree, and my fiancee had the salmon. Both were out of this world. The ambiance is also lovely. Floral displays and gorgeous wine racks everywhere. It was truly an incredible evening. Worth the price!

It was a nice brunch, in a very pretty restaurant. Great menu options for everyone, including my vegan sister. It's a good price point as well. Their service was painfully slow. Painful, and then they charged us for bread while we waited. Not the best move.

The pre-fix brunch here is nothing short of fabulous! They really put together a great menu, overall. However, it took about 15 minutes to even see a waiter who at first declined us for a moment until he realized we were trying to order a bottle of champagne and not our entire order. Still love the food and overall atmosphere that it won't deter me from going back, especially if I am trying to have a 2-3 hour brunch.

Server didn't notice we had not received our food and everyone else around us who came in later had theirs. When we asked, he quickly went to the kitchen and 10mins later emerged with our entrees. Food was clearly sitting under a warmer for some time (salmon was dry, pumpkin ravioli was chewy); he claimed our food just took longer to "plate." He tried very hard to redeem the experience, as did the manager, by checking in frequently and offering dessert on the house. Experience was mediocre at best and I'm not sure I'll be making a trip back anytime soon.

Great vibrant scene with delicious and innovative flavors! The small plates are worth sharing and having as meals! The Heirloom Baby Beet and Burrata salad melts in your mouth! The truffle mushroom croquette is amazing and make sure you soak up the sauce with the bread! So amazing! The innovative crostinis are incredible- the Goat Cheese with Carmelized onions & the Manchengo and Fig are tow of my favs! I'd rather fill up on all of these then order dinner. But the back part of the restaurant is quite noisy and a little difficult to have a conversation. And of course the raspberry mojito was fabulous!

I always love visiting Fig and Olive. The restaurant on 5th ave is not as beautiful as the restaurant in Meatpacking, but is a great pick for an early dinner after shopping or before a Broadway show. We ended up composing our own five course menu consisting of all appetizers, which our waiter was more than fine with. The oysters, the crostinis, the carrot soup, the tartar and the apple sorbet were all delicious. The only negative I can think of is that the restaurant is super cold (people actually wore winter jackets inside).

I've been here a few times and always have a great meal. Went with a group of 5 and had a very nice table upstairs. We got a few apps to share - particularly liked the mushroom croquettes and variety of crostini, though everything was tasty. Service was great too. Overall, a really nice dinner - will definitely go back soon.

The food was great, but the service terrible. Worst than poor. the waiter, had to bring 3 times the crostinis because he kept bringing the wrong order. the waiter did not know what he was offering, confused a burrata crostini with a crab crostini, which shoudl be almost impossible. the service took for ever. we were seated at the first floor nex to the window. the waiter would seldom come near our table. couples seated in other areas, came, ate, and left and we were still there waiting. the day before we had dinner at the Fig & Olive Meatpacking and we had a wonderful experience. My recommendation would be, don't go the 5th avenue location at night, or stay away from the 1st floor waiters....

I was in NYC for the weekend visiting my boyfriend, and we decided to try this place. The wait staff was extremely friendly, even though it was busy and we showed up a little late for our reservation. The food was some of the best I've had in New York, and everything came out in a timely, but not rushed manner. The cocktails were also quite tasty. Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Second time to Fig and Olive. I always bring a group of at least 5 or more. Ambience was consistent and nice for a group. However, the quality of the food has dropped dramatically. Cous cous was dry and tasted like sand. The waitress comped a desert, but I'm really not one to complain so it's awkward when you have to provide a negative response to the food quality for the Calibur of guests that Fig and Olive targets. Also, service could be better, the server was good, but the second time I have been to F&O and the mode of the server is much to serious and seemingly condescending attitude towards guests.

We wanted to dine at the meatpacking location, but went to the 5th Ave one as a back up. I'm glad! THe service was very good. Our waiter knew the menu well and made a great recommendation for an appetizer. I read a few reviews where some complained about the noise level. We didn't find the noise level to be a problem at all. This was a nice place, with a good vibe. The food was very good and the service was excellent.

Went for dinner with my boyfriend on a Friday night at about 8:30. Service was fantastic and allowed us to sample wines before purchasing by the glass. We ordered a sampling of crostinis for an appetizer. The goat cheese with caramelized onions and the prosciutto with fig were our favorites. I had the provence chicken. While the presentation was nice ( the chicken was served in a hot plate), the chicken was rather dry and tough. There is nothing "special" about F&O in that it would stand out in your mind amongst all the NYC restaurants, nevertheless it is a good restaurant with good (but not out of this world) food. GO GATORS!
