Fig & Olive - Fifth AvenueExcellent serviceGreat service and food was timed perfectly with drinks. Simple brunch menus that was full of fresh foods.
Would go back in an instant.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst visitAll of our meals were delicious. Chicken tajine and shrimp risotto were both wonderful. Would definitely go back6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat midtown upscale lunchThe only negative was I asked for upstairs when I made my reervation. Did not get that. Everything else was really spot on.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNOISY and DeliciousThe acoustics could use some tweaking...we sat down at 1 15 PM and hearing my clients' voice was difficult.... very efficient wait staff.. good food and good value... will try and schedule early... 11 30 or 1 30 next time...6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter than I rememberHavent been in a while but went for a business lunch. My chicken entree was great as well as dessert!! Service seemed slow even after the place cleared out a bit.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNice for a business chat....Business partner and I had a very adequate lunch at this midtown gem. Pleasant maitre d and the wait staff were very patient of our time spent on decisions of what to order. Salad and Italian sandwich selections were good choices.
Very enjoyable time.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMReally yummy figs and olives! We were a group of 4 who went early before a show and were so pleasantly surprised. The crostini were amazing, the fig and olive salad delicious, and the desser amazing. The entrees were so-so (paella, salmon, chicken) and we wished we had done more crostini instead, but great experience overall and definitely would go back!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is splendid! The food is faultless at Fig Olive- great variety, impeccable taste and flavours, well presented. The cocktails are also superb and not the regular same old. It was perfect for a group dinner. The ambiance was a bit 'fast asleep' for us though- bar too quiet and generally an older crowd dining there, vastly different from the experience at the Meatpacking location.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Meal and Service!Best meal I've had in a long time! The Mushroom croquettes were to die for!! Also, the crostinis were amazing! I ordered the Chicken Tajine as an entree and was WOW'd by the yummy flavors and textures! A must for anyone visiting NYC. I loved it!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice placeI had been to Fig and Olive numerous times and they did not disappoint me at all. It is a great restaurant, once more the crostinis were delicious again. You should try all of them.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGood for a work lunchIf you do not have a reservation during lunch, it is very difficult as it gets very busy. Good place to bring co-workers or clients for a lunch meeting.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and atmosphereVer y godo food, diferent flavors, invites To come back To traste other plateas.
We are turists and west twice because of the nace Ford and atmosphere6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMHip, saavy and delicious! So convient to the "Red Door" day spa on 5th! We love the price fix luncheon
menu. We lingered over our lunch and F&O were fine with that.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMmidtown "normalcy"I wanted to treat my college son to a nicer lunch rather than the ordinary pubs we frequent.
It's a bit pricey with smaller portions but the food quality and service were excellent. Tables are very close together. All in all, kind of what's expected at an upscale midtown restaurant. I'd go back. So would my son ;) But I'd be more inclined to take my wife as the lighter fare suits us both just fine.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was good but not as greatFood was good but not as great as I remember. I ordered the squash blossom and ravioli but got a hard, greasy stick that was supposed to be the blossom. The ravioli were hard. The paella was a huge disappointment. Not sure I will return.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAll Around GreatMy husband and I had a wonderful dinner here with my best friend's early twenties, son. He was visiting from out of town and while the restaurant isn't perhaps the hippest place by New York standards, the food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was just cool enough to be interesting for him.
Also, by happenstance other friends showed up at the bar for a drink and there was a bit of a martini shaker incident. While a martini was being made, a piece of the shaker flew loose and the beverage went flying. Apparently, the restaurant could NOT have been more gracious to our friends, in every possible way. It takes a lot of class to do the right thing these days. We love the Fig and Olive!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMALWAYS WONDERFUL!!!Food is ALWAYS fresh. Service is Great! This is our Go To Place whenever the hubby and I are in NYC.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA very good experience overallA very good experience overall on our second visit to Fig and Olive. Our party arrived 20 minutes early for reservation and we were cheerfully greeted and seated immediately. Although 5PM on a Saturday evening, there were surprisingly few patrons as we started our evening. Service was pleasant, allowing us to take as much time as we wanted. Food was brought at the right pace, prepared to the exact request of one of our party who wanted fish cooked more than would be usual. The noise level as the restaurant filled was much quieter than on a previous visit, which was very welcome. We lingered over dessert and coffee, never felt rushed. Only con is that the menu is somewhat limited.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful dinnerThe restaurant week menu included a fe surprises. Really excellent.
But the wine list was too pricey.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSalmonIt was OK, not great but everything else was delicious!!5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGenerally a good experience,Generally a good experience, and I've gone back several times over the last year. They could improve the experience a bit by putting less salt in the food and by doing something to dampen the noise.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food for a decent priceThey had a fixed price menu for $45. It was excellent and very filling for dinner. We asked for a table window and were accommodated. Staff were very pleasant. Would go again.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!Excellent quality at very reasonable prices. The chicken in a skillet is the best chicken I have ever tasted! (I know... chicken? Yes, chicken). I would make a detour to go back. No hesitation.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-Fixe Menu was amazing!Pre-Fixe Menu was amazing! Great food great restaurant5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat lunchloved the service and the ambiance. the gazpacho is a must taste!!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSpain and Italy in NYCLoved the food (taste and presentation) but the quantities are too small in some cases. The ravioli is literally 5 ravioli pieces, and the Creme brulee is the size of a Tequila shot glass.
Service was pleasant but could have been quicker5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThey are very busy duringThey are very busy during lunch, but the service was quick and the food was good. I would recommend their Fig and Olive salad.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was good but....The food was great. The reception service was excellent. The wait staff left something to be desired. He only checked on us once and not even when the food came out. Once he did come by he didn't offer any refills on drinks or if neede anything else.
Great for lunch. Never have been for dinner but would try it.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMÓtimo restauranteBoa localização em Midtown, bem lerto da 5th avenida. Boa comida com preço honesto para NY. Só não chegue tarde pois o restaurante fecha as 22:00 nos dias de semana. Recomendo tranquilamente.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Food is fresh and delicious. Service is friendly and efficient. Lovely atmosphere.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove those olive oils!!Great food but small portions! Staff members were friendly and helpful! Yummy appetizers with various olive oils and dipping breads.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day Surprise!I usually avoid meals out on Mother's Day as I find the service and food subpar...but our brunch at the Fig and the Olive was the opposite of my expectations. We chose it because the menu seemed good for our group and they did not jack up the prices as many did because of the holiday. All four of us loved our meals. The lobster bisque was lovely, my salad and chicken fresh and flavorful, drinks great, dessert delish, service very good. We will definitely return.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI had the octopus to startI had the octopus to start and it was so thinly sliced and so good! We also tried the crab cakes. They are served as 3 tiny cakes. Delicious. My main course was the penne and it was outstanding. We also tried the lamb chops and they were a winner, too.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodWent for my mothers bday and we had a great time. Great ambiance. Lots of big groups at dinner. The chicken tagine had too much kosher salt on it. But the carrot soup was good and the mushroom appetizer was perfect. At our table two fishes were ordered and they were cooked to perfection.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMalways a crowd pleaserFood is always tasty and the olive oil and bread on the table is a nice touch. The portions seem to have gotten small over the last couple years.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the food and atmosphereOur family of 4 including seniors and a vegetarian were all happy at a leisurely brunch. Great atmosphere for lots of talk, and the desert sampler was outstanding.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food, great service!Fantastic food, great service! The salmon crudo is a must. Fig crostini is a sweet start. We are never disappointed.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGood and healthy food forGood and healthy food for adults and children with quite some choice. Nice casual chic atmosphere. Very convenient if shopping on Fifth Avenue.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner before a ShowThis place was great! The atmosphere was impeccable and even though the restaurant had every table full, the noise level wasn't bad at all. The server did have quite a few tables towards the end, so the service slowed down considerably; however, it was still a great night over all.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLight & InterestingWent in here early before heading out to a Yankee game. Good cocktails listed on the menu and a better martini when asked for. Every small plate we ordered was made with a different olive oil and showcased them nicely. Try the Crostini selections are varied and each one good. The Octupus was definitely different and worth it. Would be a great place to share small plates with.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful brunch (Saturday)Had a wonderful brunch (Saturday) with family. There was a bridal shower going on at the same time, but it presented no problem in terms of noise, service, or food. A lovely day!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA truly fresh experienceIt seems you are eating somewhere on the Mediterranean. The food is really good, but it is the variety of dishes and their presentation that are so charming. Love the place.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent. TheThe food was excellent. The service however was slow with our wine arriving after our courses were half finished.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is always excellent hereFood is always excellent here but the noise is an issue.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and reception. OurExcellent food and reception.
Our waitress was quite unfriendly.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMore than a fig and oliveGreat selection and portions can be shared. Loved the crosstinis and the tuna carparcio Broad selection for vegetarians and carnivores. Relaxed comfortable atmosphere4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had lunch at Fig & OliveWe had lunch at Fig & Olive - fifth Ave on a Wednesday around 12pm, it hadn't yet gotten too crowded and our table was ready right away. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very attentive. I had the Filet Mignon panini and it was delicious. I forgot to take the detailed check after I left, but they were able to email it right to me the next day. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be going back in the future.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time atThis was my first time at Fig & Olive although I lived near the one on the UES when I lived at 63rd and Lex! Now playing tourist in Manhattan, a number of my friends recommended this place so I ventured to the one near 5th Avenue. I'm into salads but the waiter insisted we try the crostinis with a variety of toppings - he even picked their top three bestsellers for me and my guest. You pair those crostinis with a nice white wine and it is a lunch made in heaven! The shrimp and scallop salad wasn't bad either! I will definitely make a return visit whenever I'm back in Manhattan - quite a find! I can only hope that one day, a Fig & Olive will open in Washington DC!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe Love This Place! We love this place! The servings are generous without being too much, the menu is exciting and the staff is attentive without being overbearing.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently goodAlways terrific to go for great salads and other entrees.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AM
