  • "The food was delicious and the ambiance was great. It's nice to find a spot right off Fifth that doesn't feel touristy. My only complaint was that the bathroom was not up to the same standard. There was an overflowing wastebasket in the ladies' room with tissues and paper towels all over the floor. Other diners were commenting on it as I walked in the door."

The restaurant was rather empty when we arrived and when I asked for our table for two to be moved away from kitchen we were moved upstairs against the cold window this after passing ten empty tables. Our mimosas were awful and needed to be remade. The server was totally in attentive. The server at the next table was presenting all the food. Telling the diners the diff types of oils the diff types of crostinis. Our server just put it on the table. The food was very good. Nothing else was"

  • "First of all, I love Fig &Olives. I have been to UES and Westchester location bunch of times. This is the first time I went to the 5th avenue one. Food and ambience were great as we expected, but the waiter was not great at all. He was little older which I thought was a good sign of him having experience. Actually, he was not friendly and the service was minimum. Even when I asked couple of questions, he just told us to look at the menu instead of explaining the dishes for us. I was a bit surprised and embarrassed because I took my special friend who was visiting from Japan and I wanted that to be a special treat for my friend. Although I love Fig&Olives, I don't think I would go back to this particular location in the future."

  • "It is always a pleasant surprise to find good food near Times Square, that isn't Italian. If you are a lover of fine olive oil, this is the place for you. Try the olives marinated in a variety of herbs. The crostini was divine. The carrot and beet appetizer, marinated in harissa spices, were wonderful. The chicken tagine was average, needing more spices."

  • "We came and stayed in Manhattan for the weekend (we live in NJ) because we had activities on Saturday and Sunday. Knew the name "fig and olive" and thought we'd give it a try. Loved the crostini appetizers! I had the Moroccan chicken with apricots and cilantro which was very good. My husband had the paella, which apparently was also good, although not a typical Spanish version. The wine and coffee were good, and the wait staff were excellent. Thank you for a wonderful evening"

  • "What a treat! Fig and Olive is one of my favorites but I hadn't anticipated the lunch time crowds. We were two friends who were reuniting after 50 years apart, waiting with a large crowd. To the rescue came Cesar, the very delightful and charming manager. He went out of his way to make our lunch a very special one. He guided us through the lunch time crowd and made sure we were seated at the time of our Open Table reservation. And then he sent over appetizers to apologize for both the throngs and the short wait. The service was delightful as was the food. Thanks to all!!"

  • "Fantastic food! A great choice when you are in Mid-town. A real tribute to olive oil and Mediterranean cuisine. The service overall was very good and professional, but two exceptions resulted in the mediocre rating we applied here. One person was not given his wine with everyone else, only to learn much later that his wine choice was unavailable. Another, which was corrected quickly, was that three of the four of us were served the wrong dessert. That said, we will definitely come back again and recommend it to everyone else!"

But our server was very smiley and friendly and pleasant. Crostinis were interesting and delicious and shareable, but the paella was a smaller portion than expected and the rice was too soupy. Chocolate souffle was waaaay too sweet -- no subtlety at all. Overall the place is nice, it's always crowded at lunch, but the food turns out to be just a teeny bit better than decent."

  • "I have loved this spot for years, and I finally dared to bring my kids(7,10,11). They are finally old enough to behave, and they absolutely loved it. They are very adventurous eaters, so I am lucky on that front. I was worried that the staff would be rude since this isn't a kid spot, but our waitress was extremely friendly. My lobsters salad was superb and the lobster bisque that my daughter ordered was less heavy than usual but with depth of flavor and a unique presentation. Even the rosemary chicken panini went beyond my expectations for a sandwich. There is no better spot to take a pause from an afternoon of shopping in the city."

  • "Went to Fig and Olive for dinner. Had a 5pm reservation and called saying I was a few minutes late (15)- this was not a problem they held my reservation and sat us right away. The tasting plates are a great deal for 7 dollars and were our favorite. My only complaint was one of the drinks- the el matador was SO unbelievably spicy. He loves spicy food and this drink was almost unbearable for him- Besides that the food was amazing, unique, and delicious. I had the paella which was lovely and he had the chicken tajin in a broth with veggies and cous cous- outstanding and beautiful plates ! Will definitely go back!"

They claimed I didn't show up and entered a dispute, when in reality I did attend and provided a 20% tip. Not a great way to say thank you"
