  • "I have been to all of the Fig & Olive restaurants in Manhattan over the past few years and have never been disappointed with the food. This time I was. The crab & tomato appetizer was very good, but while the goat cheese ravioli was tasty, the other emulsion/confit did nothing to add to the dish. And the zucchini blossoms were hard and seemed like they'd been sitting around for a while. My guest had the yellowfin tuna which she said was good, but I noticed that she had to cut out a rather large piece of tendon from her portion. In the dessert department, don't change a good thing - the strawberry dessert crostini served now doesn't hold a candle to the pistachio shortbread/mascarpone/amarena cherry version I've had previously."

I would definately recommend the restaurant for foodies -- the food is high quality and Michael took great care of us."

Is a great spot for those looking for an easy midtown East/West location in the 50's, and it also offers a very excellent prix fixe lunch option as well, which I always choose from as there are many solid choices available. (I especially recommend the lobster bisque and crab salad appetizer.) Portions are modest, and the service has always been right on -- polite, proper and efficient. All in all, Fig & Olive is a spot I will continue to return to."

  • "Had dinner with family and friends (party of 5). Service was hit or miss. Drinks were very slow to arrive. Waiter answered many questions with "I don't know" but didn't offer to go find out unless prompted. Disorganized bus staff seemed generally disinterested in their work. Food was above average but nothing special. I wouldn't rush back."

We had a reservation and it appeared that we were about to be seated at a nice, round table near a window but ultimately found that a group that had walked in pretty much demanded that they be seated there (they arrived at the same time as we had but were in front of us in greeting the host(ess)); we ended up with two 2-person tables pushed together and it worked out. Food was great. Service was very good."

  • "We had a great dinner with friends at Fig and Olive. The food is creative and the menu is inspiring. We had a cheese plate that was incredible, well priced wine and beautiful entrees. The only reason I did not give it a five of five is the branzino was dry and it was paired with baked figs halves which felt a bit clumsy. I loved the figs, but it was difficult to mix the flavors into one bit and the figs overpowered the fish."

Branzino and goat cheese ravioli with zucchini blossoms were so tasty. We ended up with wonderful desserts - chocolate pot de creme, warm chocolate souffle and raspberry sorbet. What a great meal."

  • "We sent my parents here for their joint birthday dinner, as well as their 25th anniversary. I made the reservation on Open Table and noted the special occasion, hoping the restaurant would remember to say something nice when they arrived. My parents were greeted with a glass of champagne upon arrival, were wined and dined throughout the evening, and at the end of the night received a special dessert for the occasion. The staff took such great care of them and really made the entire night memorable. They said the food was fantastic and they are still talking about the dinner weeks later. Thanks to their great staff for all the care and attention they showed my parents. I would highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "Two weeks prior to reservation I booked a table for 10 for my cousins's bachelor party dinner. John the manager told me it wouldn't be a problem and ensured me that we would have the best table in the restaurant. The table/service/food was excellent. We ordered and assortment of crostinis and carpaccio which were delicious(especially the octopus). For the main course the waiter sold me on the lamb chops and sure enough they were incredible. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I would definitely suggest this restaurant for anyone looking for a high end dinner experience in the city."

  • "Located on 52nd b/w 5th and Madison this location F&O is more intimate than the Meatpacking location IMO. We passed a cool-looking bar and were seated on the 2nd floor. Service was prompt and attentive. Our waiter brought out a nice arrangement of olive oils from different countries and bread and he explained everything on tastes which was nice. We started with the crudo tasting and octopus a la gallega; both dishes were delicious. The crudo was a bit too heavy on the oil but the octopus prepared sashimi style was spot on. Entrees were the Mediterranean Branzino (well done) and the Yellowfin Tuna (medium rare). Again both dishes were very good, recommended. Two glasses of the french chardonnay washed everything down nicely :-)"

However, Bouillabaisse offered quite a small portion with only a few shrimps and (may be, could not tell) a scallop and was not worth the price ($29). Very busy even on a weekday and with "spotty" service. We however enjoyed it."

  • "This restaurant was recommended to us during our vacation in NYC. We stayed at the Waldorf so it was within easy walking distance. We had the brunch this Saturday - the whole experience didn't disappoint! The fig salad was so fresh and amazing, the omelet was delicious with fresh herbs, and oh my goodness, the chocolate dessert was out of this world! I wish we had a Fig & Olive restaurant in Orlando. I hope to visit NYC again next year and will definitely pay a return visit to Fig & Olive!"

  • "The first waitress that was serving us came over to take our order within 2 minutes after we got our menu. We told her that we were not ready. We were talking when she came over and interrupted again in only about 5 minutes and we again said that we were not ready yet. It seemed like she wanted us in and out of there and did not create a nice experience for us at the start. After that we got a different waitress who was wonderful and we proceeded to have a wonderful evening where we really enjoyed all the food. I would suggest that waiters do not rush customers, especially at the beginning of a meal at a late reservation."

  • "When we come to New York I like to come to F&O because the food is fresh and consistantly good. I love the cheese and iberico ham selections along with some creative crostini. The salads are light and delicious and I can always get a nice piece of fiah. The Bronzino is incredible. While the crowd is always a bit on the noisy side - it's lively and full of energy. The service is good and pace is relaxed unless you tell them you need to get to a show. I've done both and the meal was great regardless."
