A word from Fifth Season
Local farms and waters are the inspiration for this New American restaurant that focuses on preparing menus using ingredients that change with each season. American microbrews and wines are carefully selected to pair with each dish our chefs create. Enjoy our House-Infused Artisanal Cocktails made
with seasonal purees and fresh squeezed juices while overlooking the Long Island Sound on either the outdoor patio, upstairs seating or cozy lounge. Established in 2004 in Greenport, this Zagat top-rated restaurant for both food and service moved in Spring 2008 to Port Jefferson harbor.

The salads were all pretty
predictable. The fish entre was well cooked but it could have used a bit more seasoning. The roast chicken was ok. (Nothing special) the apple crisp was outstanding. The lemon cheesecake was ok. Great server. Great cocktails. We usually go to pasta pasta but wanted to try something different. We weren't disappointed but we weren't impressed either"

We successfully stretched our meal
(five people) to three hours, like I wanted. Champagne waited at the table, as I had asked. My mom got her "happy birthday" wish and candle on her dessert, as I was promised. I was comfortable and relaxed here, thanks to the calm service. Nice big cocktails. Truffle fries planted a memory deep in my senses that I couldn't stop thinking about. Duck could have been pinker, but was fine. My nine year old gladly ate the crab dumplings and the burger. Filling, satisfying. The gas-burning "fireplace" was the cutest and the live piano and bass at the other side of the room was great. I was honestly surprised at how the tables filled up at this place by the time we left. Saturday night in Port Jeff in March? Wow."

If you want to have a few drinks
before dinner, they have a beautiful bar with elegance! I dont recommend the cheese platter appetizer! 3 liitle pieces of cheese and served with bread! Crackers would be better! I do have to say the swordfish was cooked to perfection! Delicious! My husband ordered the crab cakes which was served with some kind of lomain! Very cold! Loved the ambience but I definitely will try something else on the menu if we order appetizers! The service was also exceptional, very attentive staff!"

Our server was outstanding. He is
partially responsible for the great review. The food and drinks were very good albeit pricey. We had a great time and will be returning."

We've dined at Fifth Season for
many special occasions & they never disappoint. The wait staff are very accommodating...the chef accommodates for food allergies. Case in point...I ordered the fresh sea scallops not noticing on the menu that it was accompanied by lobster. I am have a food allergy to lobster. When the plate was presented in front of me...it became apparent that pieces of lobster were in the risotto. I mentioned this to my server who immediately removed the plate & came back a few minutes later with a fresh order of sea scallops with a multi grain risotto sans the lobster!"

We had a very nice dinner in a
comfortable setting. The Prix fixe has decent options and is a good value"

Took my girlfriend here for
Valentine's day and she absolutely loved it. The menu was fixed price, so I cannot comment on their usual selection of food, but the food we had was amazing!"

Our night started when my wife and
I arrived and went to the bar. We were served cocktails by the amazing duo of Beth and Colleen (best bartenders in Port Jeff) before we were sat. After cocktails and listening to the amazing guitarist in the bar (Eric McCormack), we were sat right at the time of our reservation. Every course of the meal was better than the last. We had an AMAZING cold seafood platter as an appetizer. Our entrees of Filet Mignon and Braised short ribs were unbelievable and we both got the Flourless Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake which was amazing as well. Our server, Yao was engaging, attentive and gave us service we had never experienced at any restaurant ever before. Kudos to Debroah (owner) for a wonderful staff and place"

We were delightfully surprised
after having our four course dinner. The highlights were the friendliness of staff and interesting interpretation of dishes. We ordered beef wellington, although they took a different approach on traditional method, it was definitely good. Portion sizes were average, but first course was only 2 bites. The restaurant offers a "local", seasonal menu- which did have some flaws (e.g. tomato soup in winter) and could have offered additional information, such as what farms the food was from. However, the duck was noted to be from Crescent farms, and was certainly delicious. Overall, I would recommend to give this restaurant a try. Oh, and if you bring along your kids, they are accommodating to kid's likings!"

My husband surprised me with a
dinner at Fifth Season on February 14th and it was one of the most romantic nights. All of the food was excellent with playful sensations for our mouth. Great time."

They had a great price fixed menu
for valentines days. Great value for what was offered. Food was delicious, high quality. Had a seafood platter which included lobster, shrimp, crab, and oysters. Also had a delicious ahi tuna. For dinner we got a fliet mignon and sea scallops, both incredible. Dessert was scrumptious, cheescake and apple crumb. Service was just as good. Very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend!"

My husband and I ate here on the
Saturday night before Valentine's Day in an effort to celebrate early and avoid the crowds. We were seated immediately upon arrival in the upstairs dining room. I was surprised at the amount of young children in the room. The 2 yr old child at the table next to us was annoying, but we made the best of it. Our server was very accommodating, the wine was very good and the food was delicious. The one thing I would criticize is the fact that the tables for two are very small and very close together. This kills any chance of having a romantic dinner when total strangers are sitting so close to you, you feel like you are at the same table. We would return if we had a larger group of people."

Overall me and my girlfriend had a
great time. Right on the water so you can walk around town after dinner. Food was good and so were the drinks."
Dined on 2/16/2013
My husband and I ordered the fish
of the day which was fluke. It was amazing, cooked to perfection! But the desert was the show stopper, pineapple upside down cake/mango Sunday. Soooooo good!"

There's something special about
Fifth Season .. we are limited on our dining budget so we have only visited this restaurant twice after being given Gift Cards (dinner & cocktails extend our budget). Although the menu is limited, it has enough to please each member of our group (we usually dine with another couple) and we have never been disappointed with our choices. The wait staff is attentive and if they seem to be busy, someone else from the staff stops by to see if everything is going well. The restaurant seems busy, yet the tables are nicely spaced and we are never rushed to complete our meal or evening out. The only thing I wish were different is that the room noise level is a little high, thinking of trying bar menu next visit."

Our dinner was delicious. And it's
a good thing because that is the only thing that brings me back here. I find the wait staff snotty at best. Maybe because we were all a few 10-20 minutes late for our reservation (although I had called to let the hostess know during that afternoon), we just didn't get off to a good start. She wasn't pleased that we ordered tap water and was very slow to refill our water glasses--we had to ask twice. When ordering, we weren't even picky. Although I did find it odd on a Saturday night to be out of a few things--namely the brie appetizer and there were only 2 Ahi Tuna specials left--so only 2 of the three of us at the table received that. Luckily everything arrived hot and was delicious."

restaurant. The food was delicious service was very good. Will definately go back"

As usual, my dining experience
here was great. It was a weeknight, so very quiet in the village and in the restaurant itself. Service was great and the food was delicious."
Dined on 1/8/2014
We went as a family and found the
atmosphere very elegant but warm and cozy. The service was great and the food came in perfect proportions for all. We really enjoyed our meal there and would definitely go back again."
Dined on 1/5/2014
I have been to the Fifth Season
many times and I have always had an enjoyable experience. This was my second New Year's Eve dinner at the Fifth Season and I would say that this years dinner was even better than the last. The food was delicious and the service warm, energetic, and efficient. I would definitely do this again."
Dined on 12/31/2013
We love Fifth Season and it is
almost always our choice for a special night out. This time things were just "off." We were at a cramped table in a corner, food was weak and service was terrible. (A low point - perhaps short on bread plates, someone reached through my arms as I was eating my entree to clear the plate - it was almost funny.) A $100+ meal for two is a splurge for us -- and was just a pity this time."
Dined on 12/12/2013
We've been to Fifth Season four
times now and they never disappoint. The "farm to table" concept puts fresh, local foods on the table and the chef's creativity puts combinations together that are surprising, unusual and always delicious. Our server was Connor and he was attentive without hovering. He was very knowledgable about the menu and made recommendations that were a hit with our out of town guests. We'll be back for sure!"
Dined on 12/29/2013
Imaginative food, well prepared;
an emphasis on seasonal, local food and local wines. Attractive, very open-feeling space upstairs; small room downstairs. Well informed and friendly, attentive service. The prix fixe is a real bargain."
Dined on 12/15/2013
The food was fantastic, loved
everything. Egg & Bacon appetizer was exquisite. Both the duck and Filet mignon were cooked perfectly and I love that their menu is in tune with the season. We arrived early to have a drink and I ordered merlot. Later when looking over the bar bill they charged 15.00 for each of the 2 glasses of wine instead of the 5.00 special price. I questioned the 2nd, bartender about the charge and she informed me that Merlot was not included but, Pinot noir was. Would have been nice to know when I ordered it! I certainly did not anticipate nor desire paying 15.00 for a house merlot. A cocktail was 2.00 cheaper! It put a little damper on our time at first but, thankfully the food and dining service made up well for it!"

We were there for my sister's
special birthday. They couldn't have been nicer! The food was great and they didn't rush us at all. The staff kept checking to make sure everything was fine. I would definitely go back!"

had a wonderful time. the food was
good, service was good and the drinks actually were very good and had alcohol in them."
Dined on 11/29/2013
I would recommend Fifth Season to
all my friends without a doubt. My husband and I enjoy the place very much. My dish was not as good as my husbands I would definetly grt the chicken next we go. Do not order the brisket. I was not happy with it at all!! We both had pumpkin soup that was fantastic and dessert was even better!! Gelato for me and flourless chocolate cake for my husband. We will surely return but i will never order the same dish again. Go with the chicken!"
Dined on 11/14/2013
Since it is a seasonal menu, it
will change from visit to visit The concepts are good and the cooking competent, but not bold and innovative"
Dined on 11/16/2013
One of my favorite restaurants
providing gourmet food without compromising nutrition or sustainable principles. If you are looking for vegetarian cuisine, I highly recommend the Fifth Season. A great dining atmosphere, cozy with excellent service, serving local, non-GMO, organic food art. Don't take my word for it - experience it for yourself."
Dined on 11/16/2013
Service wasn't great and my
husband's brisket was overcooked, almost seemed microwaved. My fish was very good except they put it on top of a pureed parsnip that overtook the flavor of the fish. Overall just average."
Dined on 11/15/2013
The fluke was dull and
disappointing but the apple pie (turnover) was excellent. The noisy toddler right behind my shoulder made conversation difficult and detracted from the experience."
Dined on 11/10/2013
Located in the heart of Port
Jefferson overlooking the harbor. Great chief, staff and fresh local produce and wines. I enjoying going back again and again."
Dined on 11/9/2013
I am usually a big of Fifth
Season, but this past Saturday evening was an exception. It was Restaurant Week so the menu was limited and any exceptions were priced accordingly. We ordered from the week's menu and were very disappointed. Both fish orders (flounder and swordfish) were dry and tasteless. The limited dessert menu was disappointing and uninspired. The restaurant was crowded and as a result we felt quite rushed. It was not up to their usual standards. The restaurant week promotion is not worth a visit; go when you can experience the best of Fifth Season."
Dined on 11/9/2013
I am a Fifth Season regular and
last week invited two friends to join me for dinner. I was excited to hear that mussels were available for the first course, but ultimately disappointed. The mussels arrived in a shallow bowl, rather than the traditional metal pot, they were VERY large and a number of them didn't open up enough and couldn't be eaten. Finally, the broth was not as rich as it usually is. I hope that this was an isolated exception, but it is disappointing when a popular signature dish can't be counted on. Thank you."
Dined on 11/5/2013
Beet salad was excellent. Brisket,
not so special. Flourless chocolate cake was amazing. Ambience very ordinary on a dark night, although I suspect that in the daylight the view of the water and Main St. must be lovely."
Dined on 11/9/2013
We had a romantic dinner by the
fire and really enjoyed our meal."
Dined on 11/8/2013
As one of our favorite local
restaurants, I have not written a review recently, since I would keep repeating my accolades. However, our friends, as well as my husband and I, enjoyed ourselves so much this past Wednesday evening that I must comment. We dined downstairs for the first time, since recent surgery prevented me from climbing stairs. Our servers, Sean and Nick, were outstanding in every way. The food was amazing, and I was so pleased I followed Sean's suggestion and tried the brisket. Each course was mouthwatering, generous in size, and prepared in a healthy way. We can't wait to return!"
Dined on 11/6/2013
My wife and I went there for
dinner during restaurant week. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the food from appetizers to desserts. The service was top notch and more importantly we never felt rushed. We're looking forward to going back again."
