Good food, but no rush to returnWith a scenic view of Port Jefferson harbor, the Fifth Season is a good place to eat in downtown. The food was quite good and ingredients were certainly fresh, although I am in no rush to go back…too many other restaurants to try and there wasn’t that “wow” that would make me want to return. The parking alone in PJ is a nightmare, and the restaurant offers no relief (unlike others which offer valet).6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMI enjoyed NOT sitting in theI enjoyed NOT sitting in the upstairs dining area, it was very loud. The food and service we received was very good. My "special appetizer" of roasted beets with arugula and goat cheese was delicious as was the entree of tile fish. I would most definitely return with fingers crossed that the roasted beet salad will once again be offered!!!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLove, but price fix is creeping higThis is one of our favorite places when we want a beautiful view of the harbor and wonderful food. We always go for the price fix, but it has been creeping up in price which might prevent us from coming very often. It used to be $24.95 and they had great wine deals to go with it. Now it's $29.99 and no wine. I'd gladly give up dessert for a nice glass to go with dinner! Otherwise, the help is always lovely. I just wish they would bring back the former deal so we could enjoy more often :-)6/2/2013 12:00:00 AM25th Anniversary made specialWe have been to Fifth Season several times but they went out of their way to make a romantic dinner for two special. Food was terrific and the service excellent. Our table was reserved with a view of the water and it was a beautiful night. The desserts topped off with congratulations chocolate writing was a very nice touch. We will definitely be back again.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNew babyThe appetizers were alot to be desired but Theron courses were outstanding !!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMHad great Filet & yummy lambHad great Filet & yummy lamb Osso Buco. The staff was more than accommodating, the food was more than amazing and we cannot wait to come back!!! Thank you Fifth Season for making our experience so wonderful. We will definitely see you soon!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find!We were in Port Jefferson for the weekend and looking for a nice restaurant and found Fifth Season mentioned on an internet search. We trusted the Zagat review and were not disappointed. We had the lamb osso buco and the duck and 2 of appetizer specials which were all excellent. The corn chowder was made with fresh corn from the cob and looked very appealing and also was very tasty. The tuna tartare had just the right amount of spice. The waiter was pleasant and although we did not order wine, he was very familiar with the bar menu (vodkas and whiskies) and the drinks were excellent and well made. A nice touch was a jazz duo - not too loud. There is also outdoor dining, but it was raining that night so we were all indoors.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy The FifthWe always enjoy The Fifth Season ~ the food is outstanding, especially the scallops!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways FantasticFifth Season never disappoints. The food was great and so was the service. Love the gluten free options (my friend eats gluten free). Great value for the prix fixe dinner!.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMmother s daythe people that work there were all caring on the dining experience. i gone there for mothers day . first time at resturant . i understand that resturants pump up the prices on such a day . but i was taken back by 65 prix fix for a meal at 3 pm . i believe they should have also should have alvaiable la carte . with that said . i now know why it was half emty upstairs dining room .5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a fav spot!I just love this restaurant! The food is always great & the staff is spot on. We eat here at least once a month, sometimes 2-3 times.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!I stepped outside my comfort zone food wise and I was glad I did. The meal was absolutely delicious. We had a beautiful view of the water. Perfect meal for our 25th anniversary. Our server, Mason, only added to our experience. This will be a regular for my husband and myself.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was delicious!Haven't been here in a few years but thanks to Restaurant Week we went for the 3 course dinner. The pork belly appetizer was done just right. I took home most of my appetizer, osso bucco, so I'd have room for the dessert, chocolate flourless cake. The diver scallops entree (additional charge) was also very good. Our table overlooked a piece of the waterfront and we saw a beautiful sunset.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the return trip! We've been to Fifth Season before and the food has always been good. This time, the food and service was exemplary! I don't know what has shifted since last year, but Fith Season is back on our list of LI favorites!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWent our for Restaurant weekWent our for Restaurant week with a friend. It was our first time there and won't be our last. The wait staff was exceptional. Food was plated nice and the flavors popped. An overall enjoyable dinner.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMReliable FavoriteConsistently good food and service. Menu changes with the season. Nice ambiance.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBristol LaneThe service was excellent. We had a very attentive waiter and he knew his stuff. Being that it was restaurant week, we presume the portions were a little smaller. But we did have lunch outdoors once and loved the atmosphere. They have a very good outdoor waiter/bartender. Impressive because after so many months, he remembered me on Sunday and said hello.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious! We love the Fifth Season. The food is ALWAYS great!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find in Port JeffersonWe enjoyed our meal tremendously...and finding a really good restaurant in Port Jefferson is difficult.
The food was very good. The service was outstanding. We only wished that we could have had a table overlooking the water. That, at this point, is reserved for the bar and lounge.
Neighborhood gem -worth repeated visits!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFABULOUS! My husband andFABULOUS! My husband and I greatly enjoyed our meals and the service and ambiance was amazing. Thank you for always giving us the best!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!Friends took me to Fifth Season for my birthday dinner. It was absolutely delicious! I selected the price fix on Friday night. For $30 I was able to get an amazing app, dinner and desert. The asparagus with poached egg appetizer was heavenly! Packed with fresh herb flavor topped off with a perfectly cooked, fresh egg. The men at our table loved the pork belly app. Everyone was happy with their meal and their drinks. We'll be back for sure.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always, we enjoyed ourAs always, we enjoyed our dinner. We go to Fifth Season fairly regularly because the food is consistently good and the menu varies enough to keep it interesting. The waitstaff was attentive and pleasant. This may not seem like I am raving about it, but for us to dine there often, it actually is a rave.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprise Dinner at the 5th SeasonFirst time we went and planned a special announcement for my kids and the staff was very accomadating.
They delivered the surprise note in using the dessert menu and the night was a real hit!
Food was delicious, staff was excellent and we will surely be heading back there in the near future.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great meal, my goAlways a great meal, my go to place in Port Jefferson. Top notch servic, seasonal menu, and great ambience.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMI was there was several 19I was there was several 19 years ago when it was a French restaurant, so I had no idea what it would be like now. I was truly pleased to find it was still a super restaurant, even though the it was a different cuisine. The service and food were impeccable and I highly recommend it. I will definitely be returning very soon and quite often. Thanks for the fine dining experience again!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster dinner. Every forkEaster dinner. Every fork and spoonful from starter to desert was amazing. The depth and variety of flavors was sublime yet the dishes were not over done or over produced. This restaurant has always been a standout. Their standard menu changes with the seasons so you don't get a chance to become bored with the selections. This is a 3 Star worthy establishment. If you haven't dined here yet, well get on over there and treat yourself to something special. If you have gone before, now is a great time to go again.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was delicious!Everything was delicious! My husband has the fettuccine and I had the chicken, both were outstanding! To start I had the cream of cauliflower soup and my husband had fresh crab salad in a lettuce wrap (very yummy and creative) the soup was very, very good! Dessert was flour less chocolate cake and vanilla and chocolate gelato, so good! Service is top notch !3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat menuThe food was outstanding! We both had the specials, swordfish and strip steak. Everything tasted very fresh. I rarely order swordfish because it's usually very fishy tasting. Not this one. All staff was very courteous and attentive. The only thing that I would critique is the decor of the restaurant. Kind of boring, nothing special. Overall a great time.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious and theFood was delicious and the service was great. I love the seasonal menu.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen I made the OT reservation,When I made the OT reservation, I had requested side-by-side seating. When we arrived - no side-by-side meeting. Off to the bar and 10 minutes later - side-by-side seating with a view of the harbor. No issues at all - just pleasantness. If there's one problem it's the crostini and hummus - they're TOO good (we could have made a meal of them). Food was great - service was attentive enough but not pushy, and we were able to linger until most had left. We will be back...3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ALWAYS enjoy dining atWe ALWAYS enjoy dining at the Fifth Season. We discovered it during Long Island Restaurant week a few years ago and have returned many times over the past three years. Rather than overloading the menu with pages of selections as many restaurants do, FS focuses on a limited seasonal menu. Not only do I feel that the chef focuses attention to creating the perfect dish but this makes it more fun to see what's new from cocktails to desserts. On the ONE occasion where an appetizer was not to our liking the staff offered alternative options to ensure that we had a great dining experience.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother delicious meal!As always, we were super impressed by the great service and delicious fare that this community gem has to offer. We love that the menu is seasonal and that there are local wines and beers to pair with the food. We love dining here!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAll I can say is that it wasAll I can say is that it was OK. It is a little pricey so I would recommend it for special occasions.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite restaurantThis restaurant has to be our all time favorite! The food is excellent always. The service is very professional and curtious. We had my daughters rehearsal dinner here and it was so nice. They went above and beyond to make it special with all the attention to detail. Would highly recommend it!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ambiance. Great nibblesGreat ambiance. Great nibbles with drinks that were very good. We were disappointed in the mains but would try this restaurant again as it is a seasonal menu.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a girls weekend andIt was a girls weekend and we had a great time. The service was impeccable and the food delicious.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGem of a Resturant in Port JeffHad a business dinner, great food and service was exceptional. In fact the poor waitress had to keep coming back several times to take our food order because we were discussing so much over cocktails that we did not even have a chance to order our meal. She was great, the food was prepared perfectly and the ambiance was very nice. Had asked for view table at open table and was accommodated. Also I had to move the reservation a half hour becuase of the weather and that was no problem either. I received a call two hours before from the resturant to confirm as well. Will absolutly return.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery professional service,Very professional service, good seasonal choices. Wine list relies too heavily on local wines, so the selection is limited. I wish they'd seat us even if we're waiting for members of our party. It seems very inhospitable to have to wait in the crowded bar when tables are empty.1/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways renewed with seasonalAlways renewed with seasonal cuisine, menu evolves. Wontons were great.12/22/2012 12:00:00 AMOur waiter Everett was wonderful. Our waiter Everett was wonderful. Enjoyed the imaginative food and local favors. We'll be back.11/21/2012 12:00:00 AMGreat ambiance. No pressureGreat ambiance. No pressure to order...The waiter was very attentive and allowed my sister and I to enjoy our wine and the artisanal cheese plate. I really appreciated the cards that accompanied the plate to describe the cheeses we were enjoying. The caesar salad was crisp, fresh and not to wet with dressing. The gnocchi was delish. The live entertainment in the bar was a bit loud but not offensive. Loved the entire night!1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
