  • "My wife and I dined here for my birthday on Tuesday, and we were very pleased as usual. We are locals and always enjoy our experiences with Field's and their staff, and they even provided free desert given the occasion. Highly recommended for quality steaks, seafood, craft cocktails, impeccable service, friendly staff, and don't forget to order the Lobster Bisque - which is a signature to this fine facility. If you've never been here before please give it a shot next time you're in town - you won't be disappointed."

  • "Spent 6 months on a work assignment in the Dells area as a young professional in the mid 90's and fell in love with the barbecue ribs (and their homemade sauce) at their old location on Hwy 13, when I believe they were called Fields Steak and Stein. After more than a 20 year absence, now returning with our children for a vacation weekend, imagine my surprise in ordering the same meal and getting the same fantastic service and taste! The meat falls of the bone and the sauce is a pleasant mixture of sweetness and tanginess. In the interim, I've had barbecue ribs in many places, all over the US and other locations, but these rival the best I've had. I'm sure the other menu items are just as nice and served with the same quality."

  • "I recently took my girlfriend out to dinner as we were both in need of a romantic night alone together. Before going I heard great things about Field's but that it was expensive. I wasn't sure what to expect. Field's offered the greatest restaurant experience we have ever had. The atmosphere and food is second to none and it ended up being the best date we have ever been on. We will return again."

  • "Very nice, the food was fantastic. I was surprised there were so many young children there, but it wasn't noisy. If the children were unruly I would have been disappointed. This seems like the kind of place you'd go to get away from the noise and confusion of the Dells. The lobster bisque was out of this world! Service was attentive without being intrusive. Great evening out!"

We never save enough room for dessert, but order it anyway and take it home because they are beautiful and delicious."

  • "Went to fields in the dells for our birthday night out. Made reservations asking for a window table, which we got. Our wait staff gave us exemplery service with a touch of humor. I tried something outside my usual - the grouper special and was not disappointed. Food was fabulous! Dinner ended with a birthday dessert. Would highly recommend for any special occasion or even just a night out."

  • "The Lobster Bisque was outstanding. The steaks were all the right temperature, but underseasoned. We had to use table salt and pepper to impreove the taste. We shared the steaks due to their size. We were charged $5.00 to share the steaks per couple. I do not mind paying for a split service, because usually the plates come already split from the kitchen. Not the case at Field's. They brought the steaks in one plate, and an empty plate so we could split them at the table! Charging $5.00 for an empty plate is absurd! The steaks were a bit better than Outback, but twice as expensive, and then, a split charge of $5.00."

  • "My wife and I were wanting to get away for a date night and enjoy our time together. The whole place has a Frank Lloyd Wright architecture feel and felt comfortable. The upper tables have a view of the pond and the central fountain. Food and drinks were outstanding and we can't say enough good things about our server and his willingness to make sure we got our food the way we wanted it. There was live piano music throughout our meal and the restaurant. My wife and I went over to the bar area after our meal to enjoy a cocktail and make a few music requests of our own. A fantastic evening overall!"

The Field's Salad and Losbster Bisque fit that bill...our duck, risotto, shrimp and prime rib would fit more the good rating. Still worth checking out as this is one of the top three restaurants in the Dells area....so maybe three nights in the Dells is a good idea!"

  • "For the price ($150 for two with tip) I was not impressed with the quality of the food. The spinach salad was good, but the steak looked broiled and had NO sseasoning, and the martini was quite weak/watered down. The strip side of the porterhouse was quite tough, and the Bordelaise sauce needed more bone marrow for richness and less wine reduction. While service was excellent and server knowledgable, the food was sub par. As a chef, I tend to expect high quality food at fine dining establishments, but was not impressed and would not dine here again."

  • "My husband and I got a gift card for Field's as a gift. We decided to try it the Saturday before mother's day. It wasn't super busy, when we were there (6:00 reservation), the service was great and the speed was terrific, but the food was meh, especially for the prices. I could spend just as much in downtown Madison and have an excellent dinner."

  • "We have been going to this restaurant for sometime and have never had a bad experience. Since we don't live to far from the restaurant we do like to go on Friday nights since they have a special 'Local's Menu' which usually has a meat or fish special, which is similar to what is on the menu but a few dollars less. They don't ask for any ID so anyone can ask for the 'Local's Menu". I had the prime rib and my wife had the Buffalo Salmon which were both great. We had the 3 crème bullae for desert."

  • "My wife and I love this restaurant! Our most recent visit was for our 1 year anniversary, and everything was top notch. The wait was minimal since we booked a table through OpenTable, and we were given preferential treatment. The service is amazing, all of the wait staff were willing to answer any questions and meet all of our needs. The food is always incredible! We love their steaks and seafood, and this time did not disappoint. The drinks were made very well, my wife had a Field's Signature martini, and I a Woodford Reserve cocktail. They had a wonderful pianist and singer in the bar which carried throughout the restaurant."

  • "This was about my third visit to Field's, we only go when we are at the Dells. As I expected top notch! We had our three kids with us and our waiter was very helpful with our pre-teen..helping her find a meal that was not small and not too big. He helped talk me into the fish special which I would have never tried (tuna) and I was sooooo happy!!! We never go to upscale places with our kids, this was the best restaurant we could have taken them for the first time. I mentioned to the hostess that I had miss placed my birthday card and the manager was at my table the minute I was seated and asked for my info and told me he would check with the person who sends those out and if all was good he would credit my card. "

  • "Great table, lovely view, beautiful restaurant, piano music, friendly staff. Our family went for Easter dinner-four specials chicken, ham, prime rib, and lamb, at a reasonable price point (from $17-$20). Needed 1 gluten free menu-they don't one, server had no knowledge of which items to avoid or choose. We ordered, then our server returned to report they were out of the lamb shank (though a lamb chop item available for $47). Ordered prime rib, they were out of that too, steaks off menu ~$30-50). Mother-in-law ordered chicken Marsala-came as a gravy, thickened with flour, which of course she could not eat. She traded plates with someone who got ham. Ham was lean but boring, one note flavor (salty) even with orange sauce to sweeten it up. "

  • "This was our first time at the restaurant. It was crowded due to Easter. The service was excellent, we were seated immediately. The noise level in the restaurant was very high. I could not hear anything the server said about the specials. The palm trees were attractive but they need to be washed off and cleaned. I would not choose this restaurant for an intimate dining experience."
