A word from Fiamma Restaurant
Fiamma Italian Restaurant has been serving up award winning Nothern Italian style food for several years now in Dilworth. One review described the food as beautiful and uncommon. Here is what you can expect to find at Fiamma... homemade pastas, rustic meat dishes, fresh unique salads, fresh fish, made from scratch desserts, great Italian wine selection, friendly service, and fair prices. This is a true taste of Italy.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Love the service and food. One of the dishes we ordered was a little bit salty. They made another one for us which was really good. Best seafood rissotto"

  • "Awful service it took them 20 minutes to acknowledge us while we were standing awkwardly at hostess station. After 45 mins we only had flat sodas and still waiting for a high chair for the baby. The service was so awful and the restaurant so noisy we just had to leave. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and your money and go to Toscana's for real Italian food and awesome service and ambiance"

  • "A great restaurant! They work very hard to make your visit delightful. One of our favorites."

  • "Tried Fiamma during Charlotte Restaurant Week and it was great. We never knew it existed . Had to change my reservation twice and each time they were more than helpful. I ordered the Lamb Shank and it was so tender and flavorful and the Gnocci that came with it were delicious. All five meals were great and the presentation was beautiful. The Veal Milanese had just a little to much salt for my taste, but was tender!"

  • "Everything that we had was prepared perfect! Can't say enough about how the staff tries to go at your pace for dinner. They're not rushing you along."

  • "I was so excited to go to Fiamma after reading their menu for Restaurant Week. I love bolognese sauce so was extremely disappointed when my plate arrived. There was hardly any meat in the sauce and the sauce was basically clear tomatoe sauce. When I've ordered bolognese sauce at other restaurants, it's so thick you can eat with a spoon. I asked for extra sauce but that still didn't do the trick so asked if I could order something else. They accommodated me and I ordered the mushroom ravioli. It was better but the noodle/filling ratio was was off. I think there was maybe 1 tsp of filling in a large ravioli. Do not think I will go back. Service was also mediocre."

  • "We really enjoyed our meal at Fiamma. I believe our waiter was Matthew. Very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. The quality of the ingredients and the preparation were outstanding. We tried the beef carpaccio, one of the salads, lamb shank and the snapper fish of the day. The flavors were so vibrant, it made us feel as if we were dining in Italy."

  • "Was not as good as I remembered - maybe it was due to a set menu for restaurant week. The Salmon was not fresh, had a fishy smell and tast, and the vegetables were - well, OK! I was expecting much more. Doubt if I will go back."

  • "Lovely in every way! We always go during restaurant week since it is a bit of a trip for us at other times. If I lived in the neighborhood I would dine there more often. All of the food is exceptional - wonderful combinations of flavors, always fresh ingredients, and lovely presentations. This Italian food is a light fare and you feel as if you have had an excellent dining experience without an outrageous price. This gem of a restaurant is hidden in a strip mall - so similar to restaurants that you find in Europe. Why pay a high price for dinner becauce of the restaurant's location...their high overhead?? The wait staff is always attentive, well trained and extremely professional - which only adds to the ambiance of Fiamma!"

  • "We went for the first time for restaurant week and couldn't have chosen a better option. Excellent recommendations from our server and very friendly staff. Best Italian food I've had in Charlotte. We will definitely be back."

  • "Thought the selections were terrific - nice lamb shank and chops. I had the red snapper special that was cooked perfectly. Wait staff very attentive. Nice, small, intimate dining spot - we are headed back tonight!"

  • "From the perfectly cooked scallop appetizer (on cauliflower puree!) to the unusual thinly sliced octopus, our three course dinner was delicious from appetizer to desert. I had porcini filled ravioli in a butter sauce. My dinner partner had perfectly cooked lamb chops. Elegantly presented pana cotta and crème brulee were just the right size and just the right touch upon which to end a lovely meal."

  • "The food and the service were both amazing. I love this restaurant and can't wait to come up with another excuse to have a night out."

  • "Traveked almost an hour to try out Fiamma. Well worth it. Service was outstanding and the food was superb. we'll be back"

  • "Average Italian dinner with a nice atmosphere and very nice service. Scallops weren't fully cooked, and veal Milanese was over cooked. Great bread and desserts, but nothing special. My cocktail special (pomegranate spritzer) sounded better than it was - not bad, but little Prosecco. We were there for Restaurant Week, and the menu did have a lot of nice options."
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "We really enjoyed our meal, everything tasted wonderful! My only disappointment is how quickly each course came out, especially when I wasn't done with my entree and they laid my desert down. It was resturant week but there wasn't a huge crowd in the resturant yet."

  • "i spent my anniversary there this weekend and as always the experience was wonderful. i had the same server as last time and he is great, kudos for him"

  • "Excellent service. Very busy during Restaurant Week and the kitchen was very efficient. The beef carpaccio, red snapper, and lamb chops were all very good. The Crema Bruciata was the best dessert. The Ravioli was a little dry, it needed more sauce. The texture of the tiramisu was good; it had very little flavor."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "Such a neighborhood gem. I have been here a few times now and it does not dissappoint."
    Dined on 7/15/2014
  • "Fiamma's homemade pasta and their tiramisu are super yummy. Five stars. Good food and good service. I will definitely be back the next time I'm visiting Charlotte."

  • "Been here three times and continue to be impressed with menu and service. I love the menu and they have ten specials all the time. Wish they'd print up specials for people like me who want to read all the options. Highly recommend!!"

  • "I have dined at Fiamma multiple times and will keep coming back. I think it's one of the best restaurants in Charlotte. Unfortunately because of its location I bet many people do not even know it exists. Highly recommend for anyone that enjoys fresh, authentic Italian food."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "These people keep fresh menu specials at all times but keep the old favorites. The most delicate spinach ravioli, I think their signature dish. The fish entrees were also superb. The appetizers were excellent, three items and we were a party of four, no big deal as they were excellent, stuffed mushrooms and scallops."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "Only had a salad and entree both were spectacular. The Oso bucco was a bit small in size but everything was great. We will become regulars"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "I loved the food here. They serve you bread and breadsticks with homemade pesto that is really interesting and delicious. The tuna tartare appetizer was citrusy and had just the right amount of avocado. The palate cleanser was a great mango sherbet. The entrees came out in a timely fashion and were all good. They serve plenty of food here! The menu has plenty of standard options as well as fun, creative options."

  • "Fiamma is AWESOME in every way! Food was excellent, service was extremely attentive without being overbearing, and atmosphere was really quaint. Nice neighborhood restaurant with lots of character. This is one of the best Italian restaurants I have found in Charlotte. I'm a northern transplant from Pennsylvania, and am used to having excellent, authentic Italian neighborhood restaurants all around, and this is one of my favorites. I highly recommend to everyone."

  • "We enjoyed Fiamma on Saturday evening. Our waiter was most helpful. Our meals where over the top. Northern Italty influence and very well prepared. Veal scalopino served with home made pasta/tomatoes was delicious. My love's halibut was perfect. Defiantly an wonderful addition to our Charlotte choices. Donald"

  • "Came here for my birthday with friends. Great service and delicious food!"

  • "This has become our favorite Charlotte restaurant. On this occasion the food and service were exceptional. The home made pastas are excellent - especially the ravioli, which is my wife's usual. On this night, the special veal shank was served with wild mushroom risotto and was excellent. This restaurant is consistently good and our server this night, Matt, went out of his way to accommodate our food and wine experience."

  • "We were looking for a new place and found it! Completely exceeded our expectations; quality food, great service. We were pleasantly surprised about inside décor / ambience (frontage in small strip mall is deceiving). Authentic Italian food, and we know Italian food. We look forward to returning."

  • "First time at Fiamma. Great service; wonderful food; I had bolognese sauce with homemade pasta, although a bit bland I still cleaned my plate! Will go back."

  • "Another great meal at Fiamma! Each time I dine there it is better than the next! Food was superb, wonderful flavors and beautiful presentation. The Sea Bass with pesto was cooked perfectly and the presentation was beautiful. The gnocchi my son ordered was like dining in Venice! And to top it off, we had the best waiters we have ever had. Matthew was incredibly knowledgable and never missed a beat. In addition he recommended an Italian Ripasso wine that I would never have ordered, and it was fantastic! Fun to try something different! As an international media consultant I travel the world and eat in some of the best restaurants, and I have never had better service! Matthew could work in any 5-star restaurant in Rome, Venice or Milan!"

  • "My wife and I have eaten our way from Lake Como to Palermo but have yet to encounter the same fresh, meticulously prepared dinning experience the US... until now. From drinks to wine selection; attention to detail; plating; sophisticated conversation with wait staff-it was a perfect evening. And I can back this up because we brought two chefs to dinner with us and they were as enthusiastic as I have ever seen them. Bravo"

  • "This is our new favorite restaurants. Portions were big enough for sharing. Best risotto!"

  • "Started great - attentive staff, good food. We then ordered dessert and after-dinner drinks. The drinks arrived, and we waited 20 minutes without dessert. The server placed the bill at the table without asking if we were ready. I mentioned we were still waiting on dessert (it was listed on the bill). She left the bill on the table and dessert arrived a few moments later without comment. The server later walked by to grab our credit card, but no one ever stopped by to ask if there was anything further (I would have liked more coffee), or apologize for the dessert oversight. If we're going to pay over $100 for dinner for two, I object to a bill before we've received our food. All told, we'd go back for the food, but with lower expectations."

  • " When we arrived the restaurant was very quiet. It was Thursday evening. Eventually the place filled up. Service on arrival was very attentive and prompt but fell off a bit as the restaurant filled up. I had beef carpaccio and our friend had the tuna tartare. The carpaccio was excellent. .My friend said the tuna tartar was also very good. Our main courses were seafood risoto and the dover sole on special. My wife said her risotto was both plentiful and very good. The Dover sole was prepared in the kitchen and was cooked very nicely. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and will go back to Fiamma."

  • "This has been one of my favorite restaurants for a long time! We went on a weeknight, thus was not so busy as the weekend usually is. Yoshi, also my favorite waiter, took especially good care of us! Everything from the wine to the various courses of food were his recommendation and were top notched! Everything was fresh and MOST delicious!!!! Our only problem was that we didn't save room for dessert! HIGHLY recommend!"
