  • "We discovered Fiamma only a year ago, but it is now our favorite restaurant. We travel to Italy often and I can tell you the food at Fiamma matches anything you will find in Italy. The veal dishes are especially remarkable. The service is always friendly and genuinely caring. The staff seems to go out of their way to please everyone. I wish the wine menu was more extensive, but if you don't see any wine you like, just ask. There are more and better offerings off the menu."

  • "We went here based on the reviews. We are former NYers searching for good Italian in the south! The pasta is homemade and was very good but still nothing can compare to NY Italian, sorry! The server was really good for the first round of drinks, specials and ordering after that we were NOT impressed. The restaurant was busy but there were several tables open so we can't imagine the excuse for leaving us for long periods of time and watching our main meals just sit waiting to be presented, nothing was really 'hot'. The food was not as great as the waiter explained (the preparation and ingredients used). We'll try Fiamma again but hopefully they will invest in updating their interior as it's dated and VERY tired, Robert Irvine should visit!"

  • "This was my second visit to Fiammas and both visits were relaxing and delicious with personalized service and food options (be sure to let them know if you crave something not on the menu). Each part of the meal, from the fresh bread and pesto to start, palate cleansing sorbet, and home made pastas to the delicious handcrafted desserts, is perfectly seasoned and portioned at a reasonable price ($15-20 an entree ranging from pasta dishes to veal options). I will definitely be back!"

Our waiter asked questions, made suggestions based on our preferences and provided a wonderful experience. Would have provided 5 Stars on service except there was no one to greet us for 5 + minutes when we arrived for our reservation. Restaurant is smaller, so reservations suggested on weekends"

  • "After hearing about the great food we've been wanting to come to Fiamma's for some time now and finally made the 20 minute trip from Ballantyne. I was not disappointed with the food, ambience or service. But like everything I've seen so far in this area, most restaurants are in strip malls. However, once inside you did not get that restaurant "chain" feeling. The service was exceptional. My husband and I were immediately and warmly greeted and seated. The food came out fast. The bread unfortunately was a little stale but the pesto olive oil mixture made up for that. It was a wonderful evening but my husband did not like his seafood as much as I enjoyed the pork chop. The chocolate molten cake was delicious! We will be back again!"

  • "Having been to Italy a few times it was great to see a wine list and menu that was reminiscent of my time there. The ambiance suffers as the place is in a strip mall and the layout of the interior feels like you're walking through a snake. The service was borderline very good but I had to reduce it to good as I stopped a few times to wonder where our waiter was; the place was about 25% capacity but I don't know how many tables he was servicing. The focus of the menu seemed to be on veal and fish so you might be disappointed if you're looking for southern Italian (e.g. pasta pasta everywhere) cuisine. The prices reminded me of Italy (not cheap) but my wife and I enjoyed it overall for an after-Valentines night out."

  • "We had a party of 6 at 6:30. The wait staff is usually the best in Charlotte but tonite (Valentines Day) was a hectic night. I am glad we got their early because when we left at 8:30 they seated a party of 12 and party of 15. As small as that restaurant is they should have not taken reservations that large on that nite. Many open tables that could have been filled with the overflowing crowd of small parties waiting to eat. Food was very good although my rack of lamb came out at least 10 mins after the other orders. Service was was just ok. We asked for bread 3x and never got it. It was a pity because usually everything is perfect. We will go back on another nite but not on Valentines Day again unless we go at 5pm. Lesson learned."

The restaurant was crowded and tables a little tighter than I prefer. Though the noise level was somewhat high, it gave the restaurant a nice vibe. The service was exceptional despite the crowd and the pasta and wine were excellent. I never felt rushed, in fact, we were offered additional fresh bread to enjoy."

  • "This was a nice neighborhood restaurant with above average food. I chose it for a special night and out of town using open table and it wasn't a special night restaurant. That was my fault. They sat us in a small corner table just large enough for 2 plates and drinks and the tables are packed tightly. I was underwhelmed by the ambience. It's in a strip shopping center as well. The service was great. The prices were more reflective of a select restaurant rather than a neighborhood gem with our entrees running $32-36 a piece and wine priced accordingly."

The food was exceptional as in has been in previous visits. On a night when the "house was packed," their kitchen staff and wait staff rose to the occasion!"

  • "I have been here twice and have only eaten the specials. Both times they were outstanding. I did taste a regular menu item which was delicious and fortunately my daughter could not finish it so I had it as a leftover the next day- still great! I don't recall the name of the dish but it was a pasta with shrimp dish in a spicy ( not too spicy) red sauce. The caprice salad was the best I've ever eaten with fresh made mozzarella and tastey tomatoes especially since they were out of season, and no shortage of the bouquet of fresh basil atop."

Culinary high marks go to my wife's tomato, mozzarella and basil appetizer, my rigatoni bolognese entree, and both our desserts - creme brulee and cheesecake. Our server was very knowledgeable and nicely attentive. His recommendation on wine was excellent and his recounting of the history of the restaurant - formerly The Rhineland Haus - just topped off our evening."

  • "Love Fiamma. We have never been disappointed. We went for Queen's Feast and their menu provided many options for each course. The food is amazing and you also get a pallet cleanser of sorbet and a final Lemoncello. Their fish is always fresh and they usually have a number of specials to choose from. The service is excellent. They start with some bread and a pesto. Even when crowded the food arrives quickly. Caprese salad has fresh made mozzarella & good cuts of tomato (no ends) They usually have at least one home made pasta on the menu. Pana Cotta is a wonderful way to end your meal. I recommend Fiamma to anyone that is looking for a good meal and a good time."

Beautiful artwork, intimate setting Service was slow due to restaurant week business - no one greeted those waiting for 8:30 reservations until about 8:45, after we looked for help. Sorbet and cocktails served between courses were a very nice extra touch. Friendly atmosphere coupled with excellent food and a leisurely-paced meal made for a great night out."
