Ferreira CafeThough we had to wait 1/2Though we had to wait 1/2 hr at the front of the restaurant for our table (despite having made a reservation), and though the young girls playing hostess ignored us completely after the initial greeting - we were eventually addressed by the more professional maître d' who offered us a glass of delicious white port to thank us for our patience. Once we were seated, we waited yet another 10 min. before our waitress offered us some water and drinks. After that, the dinner was flawless and the owner himself was extremely gracious. We love going to Ferreira because the food and wine is so excellent. Everything was perfect, excellent fish and seafood portuguese specialties, very unique in Canada. Amazing list of Portuguese wines. Service is good. Our waitress was pleasant and friendly. However, the bus staff were not. They were always too quick to remove plates as if in a race. At one point, my wife had her plate taken away while I was still eating - and she had not finished yet! Reservations had been made on line very simply, and the cafe easily handled a necessary last minute change in the date. Service was attentive; food, especially the fish, was very good.
