Diner Reviews
  • "It was the most Amazing Time of my life. Been in Ferre before, but this time was special. I made a reservation to have diner with a good friend (I haven't see him for more than two years). Our server Justin made our night unforgettable, got us a nice spot in the restaurant, made a good recommendation of champagnes, my friend and I stay there for hours, because the our server made us feel special, and at all times he was on top of the line with entrees and diner recommendation. it really was a special moment for me and my friend, and all the experience was great, absolutely I will return, I really don't have any other words to describe the enchanted experience. other that it was AMAZING and UNFOGETTABLE.... thank Ferre !!!!.. Isis & Ricardo."

  • "Perfect location if going to Bass Hall. Valet has your car waiting after the event. Efficient and helpful service. Too few vegetarian dishes. Three of us ordered the pork tenderloin medallion special and there were problems with the dish. When we complained, we were told that the chef was on his honeymoon. It appears other arrangements should have been made in his absence. The calamari, however, was excellent. Two people selected the pizzas and were pleased with the size and taste of the toppings (not as happy with the crust but it was fine). We also had dessert. The person who ate the sorbet variety thought it was great and the cinnamon gelato was good. The wine list was good."

  • "They got a great service. I wanted to share one appetizer with my friend. They split in half so that we dont have to fight for foods. I thought that was very considerate."

  • "The food is delicious. I had the special - Halibut. It was cooked to perfection,. My only complaint (and it's not really complaining) is that what was said to be a bed of mashed potatoes turned out to be more of a pillow. I substituted the kale sprouts, but almost could not find the substitution."

  • "Went at 7 PM on a Friday night. Grossly understaffed. Sat for over ten minutes before the manager/bartender asked for our drink orders. Ten minutes later we had drinks. Then we had our appetizer order which was forgotten. Asked for a beer when dinner was served- forgotten. Restaurant bills itself as Tuscan Italian- I don't think so. With the exception of a pasta and meatball dish and four pizzas, there was not a single Italian dish on the menu. There are four non-pizza dinner entrees- trout (not Italian), rib eye steak (not Italian), salmon (not Italian) and chicken (sort of Italian) dinner."

  • "Arrived about 5:30, reservation was for 6:00, however, when hostess called earlier in the day to confirm reservation, I asked if 6:00 was early enough, and she said it was liable to get busy around that time. To enjoy dinner at a more leisurely pace, we showed up early, and were the first ones to be seated in that area. Courtney was our waitress, very friendly and courteous. Asked for suggestion on wine and she made a recommendation which was excellent. Food was very good (steak and salmon .) It was quite a bit busier after 6 PM, so it was nice to have our salads and dinner order placed. Overall, very pleasant. A little pricey, but not out of line, given the convenience to Bass Hall."

  • "Our service was excellent. Their Calamari, pizza, seafood salmon special and pasta dish was delicious. We had a large group that trickled in and Ferre was still able to serve our meals together!"

  • "Excellent food and atmosphere that enhances ones symphony evening. Be sure to request a quite area if that is a priority."

  • "We enjoyed great service and the food was excellent. Two of us had their seafood special and it was done to perfection. The wine list is adequate and the recommendation from the waiter was spot-on. All-in-all a great dining experience. We had planned two hours for dinner before the Symphony and actually had 30 minutes to relax before heading across the street. We came back for a glass of wine following the Symphony and, again, had excellent service."

  • "The service was excellent and remained totally mindful that we were going to Bass Hall, but absolutely did not rush us at all. The food and drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend it."

  • "I have been coming for years but feel it has really gone down hill!!! The menu is not near as good and very limited. Very disappointed in it. It is convenient if you are going to the plays at the Bass. Should also keep the bar open for a drink after bass performances"

  • "This time had an early dinner; pizzas, salad & wine before concert at McDavid Studio. We told our server, Alex, that we had to be in-and-out in an hour & he attentively made sure we were served but not rushed."

  • "We loved the complimentary valet parking. The food is chef designed in-house and we loved the bread and chips before our meal. The chips are not out of a bag, but prepared and baked by the chef. Entree's are $15 to $35. My wife stated, during the meal, that the bread was some of the best she had ever eaten. Our service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and helpful. As we were attending a performance at the Bass Performance Hall, we needed our to go box held until later in the evening. The staff at Ferre were happy to hold this for us. The Ft. Worth location is perfect, right across the street form Bass Hall. When we came to pick up our car, it was waiting right in front of the restaurant. We will be eating here again, for sure."

  • "It was nice that they had a special menu for Valentine's Day. What was not nice was the slam-bam-thank-you-maam service. We were served our appetizers fairly quickly and finished with our entrees 45 minutes after we sat down. That's way to fast for a good restaurant. The food was good, but not exceptional."

  • "It was Valentine's weekend and right before a Bass Hall performance. They tried to accommodate as many people as they could so it felt very crowded, especially since everyone was on a romantic date. It thinned out as soon as people started heading over to Bass Hall. On other nights I've been there it isn't this crowded. The food is wonderful and the waitstaff are professional and engaging."

  • "It was our first time their and cannot wait to get back! The prix fixe menu was wide ranging yet I look forward to trying their everyday food menu if the ambience, service and wine list stay the same!"

  • "Excellent pre-fixe menu. 3 courses. Waiter was prompt and attentive. The place was busy, yet not noisy. We'll go back again."

  • "Felt like we were rushed through dinner. Food was certainly not worth the price and the service could have been better."

  • "Overall a good experience but cost to much for me personally Seriously for the cost of a glass of house wine I can buy a bottle For less! Everything was good to very good but will probably save a lot of Money and go elsewhere next time."

  • "For a specialized menu set at a price of $50/person, not including wine pairings, the food wasn't up to par. Our appetizers were pretty good (Caprese and the Parmesan Crusted Shrimp). For entrees supposedly worth $35+ (given the set price), ours were lacking. The salmon required a lot of lemon juice in order to bring out the flavor since the "red pepper sauce" was weak. The beef and mushroom farfalle also didn't seem worthy of this menu. The desserts were good for the most part. The chocolate mousse cake was very good and very rich. The tiramisu was tasty but not really tiramisu. As my girlfriend put it, it was tiramisu flavored with the texture of a cupcake. The tables were packed a little too tight in our area to accommodate many couples."

  • "My wife and I,for our anniversary and Valentines went out to Ferre restaurante. This restaurant was very elegant and the food was delicious. The only thing I would bark over would be its very narrow menu. It was of great delight that they give military discounts to mention. The choices I had was kind of foreign to me. Maybe because Im not that well versed in foods. But the waiter explained it to me like he knew what he was talking about. There was a soup that me and my wife tasted that was to die for( can't remember the name though). They had a nice bar and a huge selection of wines. Overall this was a great restaurant and would recommend it."

  • "Since this was my first visit here I will give it another try. The steak I ordered was not impressive. I will try this restaurant again and order something different. But I need to tell you the service was outstanding. Britney our server was a delight. The restaurant is looking a bit worn, could use a update."

  • "We tend to dine here only before shows at Bass Hall, which was the case this time, but always comment that it's worth a visit at other times as well. The food here is good to very good and consistent. The staff is well-trained and adept at being sure diners are served so as to be on time for performances across the street."

  • "Right across from Bass Performance Hall and just off Sundance Square is this wonderful gem - nice bar, comfy dining room and outdoor patio seating all with great service and food. We were promptly seated at the east end next to the wine bottles and had attention almost immediately. Our server was very knowledgeable of the wine list, and the wine captain explained even more detail to us. The wine was superb and not overly pricey. Staff were always available. The menu is straightforward, a few apps, salads, pizzas and entrees. No happy hour nor daily specials on this Saturday evening. We would have liked a few more options in small plates/lighter options. All in all a great experience for our early meal after a day at the rodeo and museums."

  • "If you like Grace, you will love this place. A little more upscale and with unexpected flavors like the agnottie which was essentially a braised brisket ravioli au jus, and a baby beat salad with butternut squash puree. Server did reasonably well with wine suggestions and restaurant was generous in offering tastings until everyone at the table had their selection. place was a bit noisy but not over the top and not unusual for this type of atmosphere. Dinner was about $50/person and pricing was in line with food/service/atmosphere and included 1 glass wine each (6 diners), salad, entree, shared desserts, and coffee. Don't try to come here without reservations on major Bass Hall performance night and don't expect a dine and dash."

  • "It was quiet and the service was prompt; however, there were only about four other people in the restaurant. I've only been once and it was almost 9pm on a Friday. I know I've walked by before and it appeared crowded. The wine was good. The food was good too. I enjoyed it."

  • "My husband and I went to the Bass Hall Sunday night, and since Ferre is right across the street, the location was perfect. Since the performance started at 6:30, we had dinner unusually early at 5:00pm, so the restaurant was not at all crowded. Our waiter, Alex, was excellent and was very knowledgeable about the wines and beers that they served, going out of his way to help us make the best selection for our meals. The bread and marinara sauce and crab fonduta appetizer were wonderful! I wasn't as wild about the beet salad as I had hoped. I prefer the pickled beet salad at Bolsa, personally. Both the filet and the sea scallop entres were prepared perfectly though. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening that I hope we repeat soon!"

  • "I visited Ferre last saturday for my boyfriend's birthday dinner, and we had a wonderful time! We had a group of six people, and enjoyed every minute of it. The wine list had some great selections on it, and our server was very kind. The rosemary bread served before dinner is absolutely delicious, and our dessert was phenomenal (we had the bread pudding). I will definitely be visiting again, and thanks to Ferre for a great dining experience!"

  • "Took my newest beau to a pre-theater dinner for his birthday. I had the Pistachio Trout which, on the menu sounded divine but lacked a little something in the translation. Pistachios where non- existent or maybe powdered? And the fish was cold around the edges but succulent. The side of roasted veggies were delish but there was also a corn frittata on the side which I thought odd and not very good. Beau had a chicken and pasta in creamy red sauce that was huge and, he said quite tasty. He did comment that the pasta choice, linguini, really wasn't right for the sauce - he would have preferred something heartier like rigatoni. All in all a lovely restaurant, great service, uneven food but I will definitely try it again."
