It was the freshest pasta I have ever eaten in New York. We had a very light pear ravioli to start followed by a duck pappardelle amazing mix of flavors. The main course was tuna and a seafood grill. Both dishes were some of the best ocean food we ever tasted. The service was excellent. It was a very comfortable place. No need for a tie and jacket. My wife had the 4-course "black truffle tasting menu" and it was stupendous; I had the grilled octopus (meaty chunks of octopus accompanied by what looked to be octopus carpaccio) and the house special soft shell crab - wow! And the service was simply the best I've ever experienced in the city, including the expert sommelier. It is quite expensive - my glass of wine was $18 and I don't want to say what the truffle tasting menu cost - but for a special occasion, well worth it. None of the fussy treatment, not snooty. Low key lots of Italians eating there, lovely friendly service. Real wait staff, not wannabe actors. Food was delicious. Definitely will return. Maybe too crowded and too close to other seats for a romantic dinner, but the food definitely was amazing. Especially they have Linda's feast course which gives you 4 appetizers, 2pastas, and 4 entrees finishing with desert. It was truly a feast as the servant mentioned. We shared among 2 people but could be shared with 3 or 4 if they are not big eaters. Pastas were a little too soft, but the flavor was perfectly done. All the appetizers were our biggest favorite.

We had the prix fixe lunch - both had scallops to start (sublime), my friend had the salmon and I had the tripe with polenta - superb.
And I can heartily recommend the palacinka for dessert - crepe with lemon and an overall citrus focus which perfectly complemented the heavier meal by providing a light finish.

The service is fabulous...perfect...not to much...not to little...the food was breath taking. I mean, bring out the fans, I might pass out from delight at Felidia's amazing palette. ALL delish...we ordered four dishes....I cannot begin to think of how anyone would find a single flaw in a flawless experience.

The pasta dishes were delicious, the tagliatelle and pappardelle pastas were aldente and infused with flavor. The fish dishes were all moist and tasty. 2 of my guests had to go back to work and they were able to leave after finishing a three course lunch on time. I am astounded that we can still find a $30.00 luncheon of this quality in Manhattan. The restaurant was most accommodating when I needed to change the time of the reservation and also in adding an additional guest. I did feel a little rushed to leave by the waitstaff, and the air conditioning was either freezing or not on and stuffy (we sat upstairs, so maybe this isn't the case downstairs), but the food was so great it was easy to overlook those two small side issues. I had been to Felidia's 2x in the last 5 years, the last being about 3 years ago, and I honestly do not remember the food being THIS outstanding.
Having said that, the space is pretty tight, and if you have a large group next to you, hope they are not loud. Then I had an appetizer portion of one of the signature pastas, cacao et pere. Felidia does an innovative twist on this traditional cheese and pepper pasta by stuffing ravioli with creamy pear! The result is fantastic, a slightly sweet filling perfectly complemented by the pecorino cheese. Finally for my main dish I tried the grilled seafood. Again, phenomenal. An overflowing plate with scallops, shrimp, calamari, lobster, and razor clams, perfectly grilled and tender, and lightly flavored with garlic.
