A word from Felidia
Felidia is located in a converted Brownstone on 58th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Opened in 1981 by Lidia Bastianich, Felidia offers a warm atmosphere where you can still find Lidia greeting guests and fans.

Executive Chef Fortunato Nicotra has been with Felidia since 1996 and has brought an innovative touch to traditional ingredients and dishes from all the regions of Italy.

Some of the restaurant's signature dishes include pear and fresh pecorino ravioli, veal shank ossobucco and limoncello tiramisu.
Felidia also offers a delicious three course price-fixed lunch, Monday - Friday for $29.50 per person, making the restaurant great for business lunches or just a nice afternoon treat.

For parties of 8 or more, Felidia offers our group dining menu rather than the a la carte menu. The group dining menu is a five course menu and includes our most popular dishes and seasonal favorites for $95 per person.

We went for a work lunch and they have an excellent $32 prix fixe. It's just cheap enough that I can convince the company to take us, and then order dishes that have supplements without anyone noticing. I'm sneaky that way. Seriously though, very good value for very good italian food in this neighborhood.

Second visit Felidia. Ironically, my wife and I got the same table, upstairs with a great view of the entire room. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The service was prompt and attentive but never intrusive. My wife began with a butternut squash and bean soup that was seasonal and very tasty. I started with a sea bass carpaccio that was flavored with a spicy, but not hot jalapeño paste. Our entrees were both pastas, a spinach pappardelle with duck for her and a bevete with olive oil and garlic, with Brussels sprouts and shrimp. Both were excellent. In all, we got what we expected, a truly superb dining experience.

In the "gastro-jam" of hot, new and high-decibel eateries, Felidia is a sea of fine dining. Not stuffy or pretentious, but efficient and friendly, with some of the best prepared food on any side, top, or bottom of the Apple. Everything on the menu works. And the excellent staff makes everyone feel like a "regular."

Food is always very good here but very expensive. For a $200 (excluding tip) we were at a very small table, in the aisle getting bumped, table against a wall too short for the table, ceiling light in my eyes. We were early for dinner 6 pm so there were plenty of other bigger tables but my husband doesn't like me to complain, so we endured it. Not sure will go back.

It is not inexpensive, but worth every penny. Old world experience and new age service! The duck pasta was obviously homemade, & the. Sam chop cooked perfectly to med rare. The truffles were sooooo tasty and worth the expense. We try to go there every trip to NYC because Bastaniches rule!

Wow!! I have so many wonderful things to say about our meal at Felidia. First off, this is an EXCELLENT restaurant for gluten-free needs. The gluten free pasta is fabulous, as well as the rest of the meal. The service was some of the best I've received in NY. Our waiter took such great care of us and brought us complimentary special menu items to try. I can't wait to get back to NY and dine here again, and I will recommend Felidia to all my friends in NY as well as visitors 5+ stars!!

We were so looking forward to taking an out of town friend to Fleidia for pre theater dinner on a Sunday evening. The meal started off great with friendly waiters and very knowledgeable / polished captain. The wine we ordered was disappointing. When the server heard this he sent over the sommelier and she asked me what I liked. After a brief exchange she brought over a new glass and poured a taste. I said very nice and she poured a bit more. The huge disappointment however was the salmon entree which two of the three of us ordered. Both were so tough a knife was needed to try to cut it. The captain vas very apologetic. When the bill came we were charged $20+ for the wine pour. We were astonished.

This was a special occasion and Felidia delivered. The food was outstanding, as always, and the service was impeccable. Special kudos go to the sommelier, who solicited my input and selected two outstanding examples of the wines I requested, a Falanghina and a Sagrantino de Montefalco. The presence of Lidia herself was an added treat, and when she stopped by our table, she seemed genuinely interested and concerned about our dining experience. A memorable dinner and evening.

Perfect in everyway. Lidia even came to our table and took pictures with my wife an I. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing and it could not have been better. Heaven on earth! It was perfection from the food to each and every staff member. OUR only mistake was choosing the Tasting menu without telling them we had 8pm show tickets. It all worked in the end but you should allow 2 1/2 hours to fully enjoy this wonderful menu. We thought that such a hot spot like this would be rushing you through so they could turn the table. NOT the case here! They really want you to pace yourself and enjoy!!!!!

Food was bland and disappointing. Lovely setting, very good service, but virutally all of the local small italian restaurants put more care and flavor into their preperations. I would not go back. I think the restaurant fills up on its old reputation or tourists who don't know better. I would stongly recommend that Lydia pay attention to the kitchen because it is producing, bland, careless food.

The food was very good, but it just wasn't a memorable dinner. Dinner for 4 with wine is pretty pricey and given the price, it didn't have that "wow!" factor. I've had more remarkable Italian dinners in the North End of Boston. I'll stick to Lidia's cookbook and save the restaurant for others.

I scheduled a business dinner here for colleagues of mine based on some positive reviews I read. Without having dined there myself, the accolades I received for making the reservation, not only won me praise, but it also motivated me to make reservations for my husband and me a few nights later. Bartender Josh started the evening off with one of the best drinks I have ever had. The food we ordered was delicious and the service we received made us feel like we were celebrated regulars. We enjoyed our evening there so much that we made reservations to dine there again the following night. Only in town for a week and ate at the same place twice in a row...considering all of the options in NYC and that we are total foodies, that's saying a lot.

Went to Felidia with my parents, who were visiting and always complain about the noisy NYC restaurant scene. The ambiance and service at Felidia hit the mark. The top-off was Lidia Bastianich circulating and greeting tables. So nice to see a chef actually at their restaurant these days. We selected items off the specials, and the ravioli with duck and foie gras was off the charts. We were very disappointed by the salmon tartar with sturgeon caviar and pasta with clams -- both were fishy. Stick to the meats for an amazing dining experience; not the place for seafood.
