The atmosphere here is open and airy, yet not loud. We had a great conversation among 4 people during the peak of lunch hour. The food was fresh, good and overall delicious. I like my food with a little more seasoning so if I had one critique it would be to season it a bit more.

distracted wait staff, loud setting with whining kids everywhere, high prices, overly-seasoned food and a menu that is WAY over-the-top complications-wise made for a "we'll never make this mistake again" experience. this place has the bones of a great restaurant, but the execution is just plain weak.

I brought 2 friends who had never been here, and 1 friend who had only had dessert here before. They were blown away by the quality of the food and the amazing service. We were celebrating a birthday, and the waiter brought my friend a lovely slice of chocolate cake with a candle! It was a wonderful way to celebrate. Can't wait to bring more people here to experience it!

We brought our visiting niece and her friend for brunch. The interesting menu items - both breakfast and lunch oriented - proved creative and delicious. The service was outstanding even though every table appeared to be occupied. The two girls had several specific requests which the waiter met without question. I especially liked the tortilla soup. Everyone tasted the chicken and remarked about the flavor. The pumpkin dessert was most unusual and great tasting.

I remember dining here when Fearing's first opened - a completely satisfying fine dining experience satisfying what you would expect from Dean Fearing. Fast forward to 2014. WHAT HAPPENED. Starting from the greeting. Hostess could not have been more rude. The team up there was less than warm, hospitable, and professional. Then, the waiter takes the men's orders before the women. Then, the waiter drops our appetizers on the ground with no profuse apology but instead a "I will bring out the crabcakes that I dropped". They did not replate the appetizer but instead just dropped off 2 crabcakes after the rest of the party was onto the second course. Entrees were heavily oversalted, and I could go on and on and on and on, but I won't.

I don't normally give five stars because I will often question the validity of similar reviews. On food, service, and ambiance I had to give five stars on each. The menu was not overbearing, with enough choices to meet anyone's cravings. The chicken fried lobster w/filet will go down in my top ten entrees ever. The staff is professional and knowledgeable, but not pretentious. The atmosphere was comfortable, with a relaxed (but special) feel. Prices at $40-$60 (or so) per entrée are a little outside my comfort level for an "every day" place, but for those that are OK with those prices, I could see this being a great "regular" spot. The staff was warm and friendly. It was perfect for my wife's 40th b-day celebration. We'll be back!

We were seated 20 minutes past our Open Table reservation. Due to their popularity, they pushed us past the formal dining room and put us in what looked like their breakfast/lunch room. It took 20 minutes after being seated to have a cocktail delivered. Once the cocktail was delivered we were rushed through three courses in 50 minutes. The food was mediocre at best. It is as if it is being produced as dumbed down "southwestern" at a theme park in Orlando. We just moved to Dallas a month ago and live within walking distance. It is doubtful we will return.

I have eaten at Fearings several times, last visit was not stellar and I thought I'd give it another try; it was a mistake, the food quality has significantly deteriorated. The service is still great. I must not be the only person who feels this way, as the restaurant was less than 50% full at 7:30 pm on a Friday night.

We have been going to Fearing's for our anniversary and other special occasions for almost 6 years now and this restaurant never disappoints. This was our 20th anniversary celebration and we were treated like no other. From the complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival to the incredible meal and scrumptious dessert. We sat at the chef's table and we were greeted by the Chef de Cuisine (Chef Dreyer) since Chef Fearing wasn't at the restaurant that evening. I highly recommend the chef's table. Something that made it extra special: My partner offhandedly mentioned that my favorite dessert was creme brûlée to the waiter. Sadly, it wasn't on the menu, but the pastry chef made one for me just because it was mentioned. Without asking.

After hearing so many good things we were both surprised at how bad the food was. The scallops were burned, cold and dry. Everything on the plate was just very dry and flavorless. And, we sort of felt like we were being rushed to get through dinner. Would not go back or recommend.

The antelope sirloin is the best tasting meat I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly, succulent, and flavorful! My wife had a beef tenderloin and loved it as well. The rabbit enchiladas and fried lobster were aso very good. We went for out anniversary and our waiter, Andrew, was great. He took very good care of us. It was a Monday night at 8:45, so there wasn't a crowd. Only 4 or 5 other tables were occupied the whole night. It made for a nice, quiet dinner and the service was very quick. We loved Fearing's!

Food was great. Support staff was very good. Our waiter, however, was not attentive and appeared to be far more concerned with the table next to us. For example, while he was taking our order, he stopped midway without saying anything and began servicing the table next to us. Obviously that was very rude and unprofessional but also down right bizarre. Not the kind of service one would expect at a place where the average price per person is around $100.

Had at least three different waiters and no one introduced themselves. Waited forever after sitting down before being asked if we wanted a drink - then wanted drink and food orders at once. They brought out and uncorked the white wine before I even had finished 1/4 of my cocktail. I tried the wine at his request but stopped him from pouring it. He obviously wasn't paying attention to us. I had to ask that the white wine be put in ice. The lobster was overcooked but the tenderloin was good. My scallops and fried okra were also good. Cheeses for dessert seemed like they came from Whole Foods - nothing special. And no one acknowledged the birthday we were celebrating except the girl who sat us. We won't be back should have gone to Abacus

I was in Dallas on a business trip and had a free solo evening. I stumbled upon Fearing's menu; it sounded novel and interesting. The front desk staff was very warm and welcoming. I sat at the long counter overlooking the kitchen and was waited on by no less than three attentive, engaging staff. The food on the menu lived up to my hunch: the BBQ Quail appetizer was amazing; it had me sucking those tiny little bones. I had a curried lamb chop garnished with grilled shrimp; weird combo but delicious. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the secret weapon of this dish is the grilled shrimp. The topper: several visits by Mr. Fearing himself, who appeared to love talking to his customers about his food in a genuine way. I'll be back.
