Diner Reviews
  • "We are regulars at the FSG and once again enjoyed our evening with friends. The food is always wonderful and the service is efficient and friendly."

  • "Great dinner in a BYOB restaurant. Food was excellent. Staff was terrific!"

  • "Doug and his staff never fail to please. Food was prepared perfectly, served pleasantly and one can't beat it for $37 a Prix fixe. We have had two private parties here and keep coming back for dinner several times a year. Can and does get a bit noisy."

  • "Doug Runyen and his staff once more provided a fabulous culinary experience, and the wait staff led by Lee we're very efficient and most cordial. What more could a gourmand desire?"

  • "Saturday night with a party of 5. Small and has the atmosphere of a luncheonette. Lights are very bright. Very good food. Really enjoyed the escargot and duck. My problem however, was with the management or lack of it. There was a table of 10 that was so loud and obnoxious that we couldn't hear each other at our table. We asked the waitress if she could ask them to keep it down and she just shrugged. We then asked the very young hostess. Her response- "You ought to come here on a Sunday". Why do rude people get a pass when everyone else with manners has to suffer? This was a birthday dinner for my daughter and when I made the reservation, I asked for a quiet table or area. There are a number of good restaurants in Conshy. I chose poorly."

  • "This small, BYOB is a real gem for a meal with friends. The setting is casual and you almost forget you are in a restaurant. The service is attentive and friendly, but not intrusive. The price fixed menu contains something for everyone. We agreed to each order different dishes and share. With four different starters and four different entrees, it was still hard to pick a winner. Not a disappointing dish in the bunch! Baked Brie, escargot, pasta, scallops, pork chops, etc. were all perfectly done and wonderful. The desserts are also very good. One of the best chocolate cakes I've had in a long time. Plenty of street parking? I recommend reservations."

  • "We have been going to Fayette Street Grill for many years. It has always provided an excellent meal at a reasonable price. The menu selections are much more extensive than when we first started going there. It was tough to decide what to have but all of their entrees were excellent. Noise can be a problem if there are large groups."

  • "Great location to meet an old friend. Quiet enough for conversation, but vibrant and energetic. Outstanding selections for all tastes. Tantalizing presentation. Definitely will go back."

  • "Restaurant was VERY loud, decor was dated and food was acceptable. I had eaten at Fayette Street Grille about 5 years ago, I think its time they updated things a bit. The food was ok, the noise level was unacceptable and the plates were faded and mismatched."

  • "We have visited 4 times in the last year and every time it has been great. Excellent food at a great price! Fayette Street Grill should be listed in the top 50 restaurants in Philly."

  • "We had a nice night out at the Fayette St Grille. The price is very reasonable for its price fix menu. Starters were delicious, baked Brie was great! We had steak and fish and I really liked my husbands steak. I ordered the fish and it had a good concept with a blackened fish and a black rum sauce and sweet potato but it was just waaay too sweet, no blackened spice and we couldn't eat it! The whole dish was a sweet, gloppy disaster! White chocolate bread pudding was honestly the saving grace! This is a cute little restaurant that really has potential to be great if it tightened up the menu a bit, less choices done better and softened up the decor a bit too! Terrible lighting! Service was very nice, warm and welcoming!"

  • "We decided to try the Fayette Grille based upon the reviews. The price fixe dinner menu of $36 was not a good value. It would be better to have an option. The steak was chewy. We do not intend to go back. Try someplace else."

  • "Small, unassuming restaurant with fabulous food, perfectly cooked and presented; friendly service. Very reasonably priced. Noise level a bit too high, but everyone raved about the meal."

  • "My husband and friends go here often as the food and service are always great! We love that it's a byob! It is one of our favorites!!"

  • "The chef is incredible and the restaurant is gluten free friendly. The set menu changes seasonally and the servers are very knowledge. The only negative thing I can say is it can get very loud on a busy night. I suggest requesting a table in the front window or back corner if you have any older persons dining with you. My father had a very hard time there on Friday night. Regardless, this is my favorite restaurant in Conshohocken. Make sure to eat the cheesecake... It may change your life."

  • "Big fan of Fayette Street Grille. I work a few blocks away, and typically eat lunch here once a week. I have had dinner here probably 7-10 times. Food & Service are consistently excellent. For lunch I highly recommend the hickory smoked chicken (only on Fridays- lunch special), and the burger (probably one of the best anywhere). Also, the homemade soups are always great. For dinner, I have had several entrees, but the duck breast is the best. Scallops also excellent Great neighborhood restaurant, excellent friendly service, and a tremendous value"

  • "Fayette Street Grill is a great spot in Conshohocken. The food was delicious, the wait staff very attentive and knowledgeable of all the items on the menu. We had escargot and pork belly to start followed by scallops and braised lamb as our entree's topping the meal off with Peach Cobbler and a delectable Chocolate Cake. The lamb was falling off the bone, just perfect and the chocolate cake was perfect. Would definitely go back to try other items on the menu! If you are looking for a quite BYOB this is not the place, it was a little loud but for me I felt that lends it self to a great and lively neighborhood spot."

  • "Chef Runyen's new winter menu delivers, the same as all his previous change of seasons menus. Great new additions like the escargot appetizer, as good as I've had anywhere. Same is true for the beef and seafood entrees. Very nicely done."
    Dined on 1/24/2014
  • "We were a bit surprised by the fixed price approach here, but the menu was diversified and my spouse and I both found an appetizer and main course we liked. The service was attentive and friendly. And the BYOB was a real advantage here. If you like an open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work, this is a good place - just ask for a seat with a view of the kitchen."

  • "Arrived on time for 7 pm reservation but Stood at door for 5 min before greeted. We could see all 3 chefs standing doing nothing but no one came to help. When seated, there were no menus available ( all in use) and hostess knocked over our wine bottle. Mahi entree was juicy and good. But only came with 2 asparagus spears! Included desserts were weak. Half of them were bread puddings designed to use leftover bread. Store bought mango sorbet. It was so noisy my ears hurt and we had to scream to be heard."

  • "I'm never disappointed here. The selection variety for each of the three plates (starter, entree, and dessert) is always broad enough for any palate and well-prepared. I would prefer, though, that coffee/tea be included in the prix fixe. Seems like a chintzy way to upcharge patrons; how about just raising the prix fixe?"
    Dined on 1/4/2014
  • "We always like their reasonable prix-fixed menu. There is more diversity than the usual at other restaurants. All was well prepared, beautifully presented, and enjoyed by all. Favorites were the apps of baked escargot, salads, pasta and entrees of duckling and the mahi mahi. The chocolate cake for dessert was sinfully delicious. Many nights the down side of dining here is that it is much too noisy. This time, we came earlier so there weren't as many tables filled, and the noise level was tolerable."

  • "A terrific "deal"! 3 substantial courses for $36 and the food is delicious. Very creative, diverse menu for a small restaurant. Service is always A+. We go back often & we live 40 minutes away. Highly recommend this super BYOB."

  • "This is an unpretentious neighborhood BYOB with great food at a great price. For $36 you get a starter plate, entree and desert. The portions are generous, so much so, that my husband, who is a big eater, was stuffed at the end of his meal. We enjoyed the mac and cheese with shrimp, crab dip, duck breast, and sea bass for our starters and entrees. All delicious. Topped it off with cinnamon raisin bread pudding and dark side of the moon cake for desert, which were also great. The only critical comment I had was that my mac and cheese could have benefitted from a few more minutes in the warmer--it was a bit cool in the middle. But still tasty. The service was attentive and nicely paced."

  • "Fayette Street Grille is one of our favorite restaurants that has all the right ingredients - fixed price, fantastic food, and BYOB. Always an enjoyable evening."
    Dined on 11/24/2013
  • "Great prices on great food punctuated by rushed service and drab ambience. The hard working kitchen team (who you can see in the open kitchen layout) is overshadowed by the unfortunately downbeat decor (by day this is a Conshy business luncheonette). Your date won't appreciate the overly bright lighting and lack of music either - both easy fixes gone unnoticed - or the waves of food coming at you one right after the other. I might come back and bring the kids since each dinner comes with dessert."

  • "Excellent BYOB Prix Fixxe restaurant. Food and service first rate. Can't go wrong with any choice here. High level of noise more suited to excited celebration than romantic interlude but a first rate venue for enjoying a celebration with gourmet food."

  • "Great local BYO, with an always prix fixe menu at a very good price (3 courses/$36). For the price, the portion size was great, and our entire table was more than happy. We had the strip steak with chimichurri, the duck breast, the lamb shank and the scallops for entrees, and all were fantastic. The only problem with this place is when it's crowded, as it was a full house on a Saturday night, the noise level is pretty much to the point where you couldn't hear your dining group. I'm not sure there's anything they can do about this, and a busy restaurant is a good restaurant, but know going in that you might leave with a sore throat! Still, great local spot with great food."

  • "This was our second visit to the Fayette Street Grille, it was not a disappointment. We visited in the summer and looked forward to the fall/winter menu items. We all ordered different dishes, Chicken, Bass, Scallops and a wonderful stew with shrimp, sausage hominy black beans and other delicious items. Our starters were fantastic and the desserts were great, especially the peach cobbler and french cheesecake. We look forward to returning early next year to see what wonderful menu items have been added and changed."

  • "We ate at Fayette Street grill last week and it was wonderful. It is 3 courses for 36 dollars and is a BYOB. There were so many great choices for each course that it was hard to decide. We chose the escargot and pork belly for the first course and it was delicious! Our main courses were absolutely delicious too! We had the sea scallops, which were cooked to perfection and the stuffed pork chop which was to die for. For dessert we had the peanut butter creme brulee and chocolate cake. Our server suggested eating them together and she was right! It was fantastic! Fayette Street Grille is a tiny neighborhood gem and I would recommend it to anyone!"
