Diner Reviews
  • "We made a dinner out of the half salads and small plates. Each of the small plates were large enough for two to share and made for a great "tastings" dinner."

  • "This place was perfect!! Took my boyfriend for his birthday dinner here. Such amazing service, very positive and friendly atmosphere... And the food... Oh man! Unreal! It was mind-blowingly good. Especially the dessert!👌😛 definitely coming back!"

  • "Great dinner outside on intimate patio, delicious cocktails."

  • "My husband and I wanted a nice place for dinner and our daughter recommended Faustina. We were extremely impressed with the level of service and quality of the food. Our server, Amy, was outstanding! She recommended menu items and checked on us several times to ensure a perfect dining experience. The food was superbly prepared and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this restaurant."

  • "Came with a friend and we split some bacon wrapped dates and short ribs w/ polenta which were both delicious. Then I had the lasagna which was perfect for me as it was low on the ricotta and covered in mozzarella. Also included zucchini and various sausage meats. Couldn't finish it though. Would have loved dessert but selection was just ok. Great Spanish wine!"

  • "The 3 appetizers we ordered were all wonderful. The 3 entrees were less than stellar. All were over salted. The scallops were fishy and there were only 3 in the whole dish. I would not recommend for dinner. Possibly for drinks and appetizers. Also, it was a very warm day. The air conditioning could not keep up and the restaurant was extremely warm. They kept the door open as well which didn't help."

  • "Really enjoyed the experience. Nice feel altogether. Liked the fact that you felt comfortable dressing casual or dressing up. Very lovely service. The prices are reasonable and I think excellent for how good the food is. New place for us and we will for sure be back."

  • "I was excited to have my birthday dinner there. I had heard nothing but good things about Faustina and was looking forward to it with friends and family. When we were sat down and given our water, my friend automatically spilled it due to the uneven tables masked by the tablecloth. We had to be careful where we put our drinks. Service was slow and to top it off, my seafood pasta was very watery and not very flavorful. I was very dissapointed in the food and service. As the sun went down, our light at the table was broken so we pretty much sat in the dark for about 30 minutes. Overall, I wish I had gone somewhere else."

  • "My husband and I decided to try Faustina for our anniversary this weekend and fell in love with the restaurant (and each other, of course...). Aaron, our server, was funny and involved with every table. He made each of his guests feel important. The food was nothing less than amazing! We ordered way too much but loved every bite. I recommend anything from the seafood list. We are looking forward to an excuse to return again!"

  • "Food was over cooked and little taste. I had pork tenderloin and was well well done. Waiter was just ok. The food came before we were finished with salads."

  • "We decided to make a meal out of small plates, wine, and dessert. Our server was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, available, and funny. He gave us some great recommendations. I highly recommend the Bacon Wrapped Dates and Oscar Filet. The atmosphere was lovely. We could talk and enjoy ourselves with out having to shout or whisper. We will definitely be back at Faustina again to try some entrees very soon. "

  • "Very cute restaurant with exceptional staff. We had an early dinner on a Sunday so the place was a bit dead - I can easily see a great ambiance/energy on a Friday/Saturday night though and look forward to returning! I ordered a couple things off the small plates menu (fried goat cheese, bacon wrapped dates and beet carpaccio) and all were exceptional! My husband had a tomato soup, Cesar salad and linguini davali (sp?) - both his soup and pasta were VERY peppery but the staff took care of both and comped dessert! (Blueberry souflee and creme brulee! - both not to be missed). Looking forward to returning and trying more of those small plates!!"

  • "Party of five. Excellent food reasonably priced with fast service. Portions were large and well presented. Seafood pasta and chicken linguini were perfect choices. Even the bread with oil and balsamic vinegar was excellent. We went through two full loaves. We'll go here again."

  • "Faustina has always been a favorite of mine for dinner and I'd never been for brunch. We needed a last minute place that took reservations and I'm glad we ended up there. Everyone loved the food and my favorite is the Faustina benedict. Instead of an English muffin, they use polenta, which is a nice change. Their mimosa selection was great and my friend loved his Bloody Mary, too. "

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed this downtown Salt Lake City find! Great mix of patrons and dress styles, from business to nice-casual. The service was prompt and the food was flavorful and fresh. I recommend the cioppino and the lamb chops. One minor gripe is that the banquette seats sink a fair amount when you sit down; anyone 5'7" and shorter may want to ask for a table with standard chairs unless you'd prefer to be closer to your scrumptious meal. "

  • "I had reservations for 6 on the patio at 1:00 pm. We were still waiting at 1:30 pm. Instead of waiting further, we took a table inside. It was very busy and very crowded. Our server, who was very nice, took a long time to bring us water and take our drink orders. As I mentioned before, it was very crowded...we had to stand in line a long time to get our food. I have eaten at Faustina's many times and was very satisfied with the service. However, I will not go back for a Brunch. The food was good, but the line was too long and the food was not replenished in a timely manner."

  • "For what was charged, the food plates were empty and not maintained. Had to wait 15 minutes for prime rib, one of very few main dishes. The meat was tough and we only had butter knives to cut it. Too simple and not at all worth $30.00 a plate. Nothing exceptional to spend that much for lack of good food. "

  • "Place was very crowded but service was very good. We plan on returning for an evening dinner soon."

  • "For $30 per person, it was a very disappointing Easter Brunch. Salad bowls were empty the serving table was very messy; main dishes were lacking. it took us 10 minutes to get water--our server never really checked in with us. We are new to the area and felt this would be a good introduction to a highly rated restaurant, but our experience was not and good and I doubt if we return. The management should have been more prepared for one of the busiest days of the year. "

  • "This was our first visit. Reviews were very good, so we gave it a go.... Dishes were cooked well and quite yummy. Also presentation was eye catching. Great waitress. Attentive. We will absolutely visit again (and spread word to our friends). Thanks for a fun birthday dinner. "

  • "We were surprised to find the restaurant uncrowded on a Saturday evening. Out waitress, who said she'd been working there for 4 years, was superb - friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. The menu had so many excellent choices that we knew we would have to return for another visit very soon. We loved the goat cheese appetizer. The butternut squash soup was OK, but not memorable. The entrees were all excellent; I had the Linguini Diavalo, and it was very flavorful and not overly spicy; my wife enjoyed the lamb chops. We will definitely return next time we're in SLC."

  • "They had a large group next to our table that delayed our food, the wait between appetizer and the meal was too long."

  • "We have been to Faustina twice in the past year. Mothers day brunch food was very good but the service was unacceptable. We had to get up and get our own coffee. At our most recent visit, April 2014, again the food was delicious-yummy but tiny small plates such as polenta with ribs- but the service was subpar. We had to ask about the specials, our server did not fill our wine glasses once and brought the wrong entree for one in our party. They should fix the hole in the ceiling."

  • "The fried goat cheese is a must and the chicken puff was delicious. Unfortunately, I did not like the blueberry souffle but the waiter was kind enough to get me something else. It just wasn't pleasing to my palate but the couple sitting across from me really loved it."

  • "We ordered lots of appetizers. Bacon wrapped dates, fried goat cheese, 3 cheese Mac and cheese, chicken and salmon."

  • "Faustina has a very nice lunch menu. It has a pleasant ambience, excellent service, and consistently good food. The Chipotle cheeseburger is particularly good, as are the sweet potato chips. Also good are the salads and butternut squash soup. Service is always great."

  • "I've dined at Faustina three times over the past year, once for brunch with a group of 8, once for lunch with a party of 2 and once for dinner with a party of two. Every time, the food has been superb and the service excellent. Servers are pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. Recently, we arrived at 6:00 with reservations and were seated immediately. Within 10 minutes, I had a cocktail in hand. My husband had shrimp scampi which he really enjoyed. I had the two-way filet which had a small serving of filet Oscar and another with peppercorn sauce. Everything was delicious. We will definitely return."

  • "The food was wonderful, wine divine, and the service impeccable. The menu was simple and well thought out and provided a good assortment of options for any diner. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this fabulous find!"

  • "We chose Faustina because it had been on our "list" of places to try in SLC for a long time. We picked it because we were out for a birthday celebration with a group (10) and wanted something with a "fancy" feel and high quality food that a variety of tastes would like. Everything lived up to our hopes! The bread and oil/vinegar dip was outstanding! The food was fantastic! Everyone ordered something different and all the dishes were wonderful! The service was good, though a little slow, but nothing we minded about since we were there for a celebration anyway. I would definitely come back for the food, the atmosphere, and the experience! Great place in a cute little SLC neighborhood!"

  • "Went to Faustina for a small, three couples get-together on a recent Sunday. They start serving brunch at 9AM; we got there at 10AM, and it was peaceful and fairly quiet. Brunch food choices were excellent. We loved the pancakes drizzled with caramel...they melted in your mouth! Egg dishes were very good. They don't start serving alcoholic drinks until 11:30AM (crazy Utah law) so take note if you need a Bloody Mary or the like!"

  • "I have been going to Faustina 4-5 times a year since they opened, and I still really enjoy it. The decor and ambience is great. It is quiet enough to hear your dinner companions' conversation, yet lively enough to not feel like you're the only ones in the establishment. The Linguini Diavalo is my very favorite, and it didn't disappoint when I visited again last week on my way to The Leonardo. I will be returning sooner than normal so that I can try the small plates. The patio is great for outdoor dining in the warmer weather too! The service is always, and I mean always, impeccable. The servers are attentive without being overbearing and very knowledgeable about the menu and wines."

  • "Any choice made at Faustina is a great choice. The food is beautifully presented and tastes as great as it looks. Always order the blueberry soufflé. It's Devine. If you are not hungry enough for dessert just order the blueberry soufflé. It's that good."

  • "Although the entrees offered on the menu are somewhat standard, the small plates offer some creative options. Everthing arrived at the table meticulously plated for an appetizing first impression as well as arranged for maximum ease of dining. All of the items I tried were cooked flawlessly. Not to be missed: almond stuffed dates wrapped in exceptionally flavorful and meaty bacon, on the Small Plates menu. Service could not have been more helpful, educational or attentive."

  • "I've been in the food industry for over 11 years, and Faustina is the first restaurant in a long time to have me craving their food. Wonderful service, great ambiance, and their chef knows exactly what he's doing!"
