A word from Fatty Cue - West Village
A slightly more dolled up version of its Brooklyn predecessor, this location of Fatty 'Cue embodies the same spirit, energy and cutting-edge cuisine as the original. The space is artfully divided into three distinct areas, providing a variety of dining experiences. Chef Zakary Pelaccio and Executive Chef Corwin Kave's menu takes the original Fatty 'Cue tenets and applies them here to a more evolved menu.Continued

  • "Second trip, just as happy. I could have eaten a dozen of the bao chicken bao bao, and the bacon is all it's cracked up to be and more. But we loved the salads too. I don't know why more people don't go here more often."

  • "The brunch is fantastic here! We had a GILT VOCHER and got to try everything! The maple syrup grits tasted like ice cream, the bacon with salsa verde was a great combination of salt and spice, and the cheddar biscuits were super fluffy! Oh and of course we had the chicken and wafflest! Can't wait to go back for dinner!"

  • "Very nice staff. The food wasn't quite 100% though. My friends loved their pork ribs, catfish po'boy and onion rings, but my brisket sandwich was almost all fat, with very little smoky flavor. I don't mind some juicy fat, but where was the crust on the deckle? The meat was very tender, and tasty enough, but it was more like sous vide + pan sear than several hour smoked. I thought that was odd, and I even opened up the sandwich to pull the meat out and look at it. Maybe I just got an inner section? Still odd."

  • "Unfortunately, this place did not live up to what the menu suggests...super creative dishes, many missed the mark...the meat was especially unsatisfactory-chewy, tough and dry...a couple of dishes were lovely-tuna, chicken bao, but too many were not-brisket, ribs-and in a bbq restaurant? that seems unacceptable-cannot recommend"

  • "Enjoyed everything we ate (country frisee, poutine (w/ meat), buttermilk pappardelle, cheddar mashed potatoes (w/ bone marrow)!! The country frisee was especially great / an unexpected nice surprise. Ambiance was also a plus. Definitely will come back again."

  • "What can I say, some good things make it across and taste just as good. This BK mainstay delivers. Seems to attract the same sort if crowd. A little loud, but that's what you expect. The ribs were fantastic, and the bacon delicious. We also had the fish which was pretty damn good, but the ribs stole the show. The sides were just so so."

  • "Nice neighborhood bar/eatery with good food, service and ambiance. Interesting menu, which will make you go back again. Booths make conversation at normal levels possible, so it works for a business meeting, as well."

  • "We have been long time diners at the Brooklyn Fatty Cue. We came to manhattan for our fix of bao chicken bao bao and the smoked brisket and bao. The food was still delicious (with the exception of the waiter recommended eggplant, celery and chicken dish - which was pretty bad). What went right: amazing bacon, bao chicken just as good. What went wrong: 4 person dinner, they rushed us in and out in 45 minutes! We tried to order in waves but the waiter made us order all food at once. And the food came all at once. The brisket was served with some random mushy fajita vegetables, instead to the fresh cilantro they used to serve. No spicy sauce either was provided for the brisket. Notable absence from the menu: curry duck."

  • "We tried this on a whim as a meal before theatre. Thus means we were there early and may have something to do with the wonderful service. The food was terrific! We had the bone marrow, bacon, a salad and spare ribs. The best was the bacon, but all were wonderful. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "Not for the faint of heart or vegetarians! Everything we had was delicious, especially the bao chicka bao bao and the fried chicken. The goat pappardelle was intense - super spicy and a wall of flavor. Loved the "beer and backs" section of the drink menu. Haven't had a pickle back in a long time and this did not disappoint! Next time we would try the brisket and the bacon and anything else that comes with the bao buns!!"

  • "This offering from the Fatty Crab guys is better than the original concept. Everything from the ribs 2 ways, to the chicken bao, to the frissee salad with poached egg, to the BBQ brisket to the Cue-rean chicken with white barbecue sauce was AMAZING. Definitely need reservations ....but these guys take care of you and I left very full and sated. If you get there early try the rum drink served out of a carved baby coconut with a spoon for the fresh coconut meat inside. Highly Recommended."

  • "This restaurant uses great spice and unique ingredients. The overall flavors are a nice surprise. Great fried chicken and spicy laab wraps. It's definitely meat heavy, but they serve great veggies as sides."

  • "I came here on a Friday night at 7pm with a friend. We shared the spicy catfish dip, lamb ribs, and bacon. The bacon was excellent and we really enjoyed the catfish dip despite it being much different than we had expected. The lamb ribs had good flavor, but were incredibly fatty. I'm sure that is how they are intended to be, and lord knows like fatty meat, but they just seemed a little greasy for our liking. Service was ok. The waiter mixed up our cocktails so we drank the wrong ones and wondered why they seemed odd. He was definitely trying to be friendly, but was quirky and a little off his game on food timing, etc. Overall, we enjoyed the food, but we were ready for some veggies after the meal to break down the heaviness of the food."

  • "I didn't know a bacon egg and cheese sandwich could be so amazing. The sesame bun was light and airy. The bacon was not too hard and not too chewy - perfect for the bacon to be distributed in every bite of the bacon. Also, I had coffee and they did free refills and walked out of there buzzzzzzzing from the caffeine. My friend is a pescatarian so we had looked at the online menu beforehand and thought there were a lot more options for him, but it turned out that unless the brunch menu item was sweet, he was out of luck. They allowed him to get just the egg and cheese sandwich, and he said that it was just as awesome without the bacon, and had no regrets about not having gone to a place with more options for him."

  • "Dinner is always better with friendly and funny staff, and Fatty 'Cue had both. It was a pleasurable evening with delicious food and great ambience. We ordered 6 plates and the timing was great. You must try the apple crisp desert!"

  • "Bacon was incredible. So are chicken baos. Really liked breakfast burrito too. Drinks are too small though for their prices."

  • "My wife surprised me with the Fatty 'Cue selection, saying 'your two favorite foods are barbecue and asian; this is both!' and it was a really delicious union of the two. Enjoyed everything. We'll be back."

  • "The whole experience was great, just go at hd food in moderation. It isn't called Fatty for nothing. I had pretty bad heartburn after the meal, likely due to high fat content. Place was nice though, recommended."

  • "I've dined here before and the food is as good as I remember. It's a little pricey but for my latest visit I had a Gilt City voucher with me and it was such a great value of a deal. We enjoyed 2 snacks, 2 veggie dishes, and 2 entrees along with a bottle of wine. The bacon is still an all time favorite of mine."

  • "The bone marrow was good but the portion was small. The bacon was delicious but too fatty. Service was excellent and the place was nice."

  • "The food is amazing. Incredible flavors. The portions are small and everything from drinks to apps to main dishes are 5 - 10 dollars too expensive, I'd go 3 times a week if it were a better value."

  • "We went to Fatty Cue on a cold winter day. Not really a good selling point for the place, because it was fairly drafty and cold in the restaurant room, and rather empty too. Not much ambience, though it is certainly different in the midst of a hot summer. The food was decent, although one of us ordered a dish which came with surprisingly little food for an entree, a rather disappointing experience. I am afraid I am hesitant to recommend the place, although I might give it a second chance if I were to be taken there in a different season."

  • "Our server was excellent and when we checked in on FourSquare, we were given a whiskey shot with a "pickleback" -- a pickle juice chaser. Despite how odd this sounds, it was excellent! The food was a bit of a mixed bag. I heard read rave reviews about the ribs, so we got those, but were underwhelmed by them. Dry rub, which I normally like, but not a lot of flavor. The tator tot poutine was delicious but very rich. Laab was excellent, a stand-out. The brisket was good, but honestly by the time it arrived, I was stuffed and could barely even try it. Good but small beer selection and interesting mixed drinks."

  • "The dish creations are interesting and for the most part full of flavor but we found it a bit salty on many of the options. For example, we tried the Pork Cheek Noodle, overall quite delicious but the mushroom bits soaked up quite a bit of salt and puckered us all up. The rice the branzino is served on also came across a tad salty. We weren't drinking much so maybe this would not be an issue with a tall beer. If you love heavy meaty flavors like I do, you'll appreciate the Fatty Cue."

  • "The food was very well prepared...My husband and I shared two appetizers...bao chicken and tuna tataki,,,,2 snacks...which were a vegetable platter with a spicy but delicious dipping sauce,,,and 2 entrees,,,smoked bacon and brisket. The food was interesting, however, in my opinion it was on the pricey side. The restaurant on Sunday was very empty, only 8 people. I was very surprised, especially when we left and I saw the restaurant on the corner was packed."

  • "the brunch was delicious, we had the maple grits and the silver dollar pancakes- they were insaneeee- the tater tots poutine were amazing- honestly i thought the starters totally trumped the entrees- when I go back for brunch I think I will just eat starters. we had prosecco with the brunch- the servers were nice and food arrived in a good timely matter- i would come back here"

  • "Came her for a very enjoyable quick bite with the GF before a show in the neighborhood. Wanted to try this place for a while and had the scoutmob for 20 bucks off - we ordered the Poutine w/ Foie Gras, the Salad with poached egg, the Szechuan dry-rub ribs and the fried chicken. I'm half-chinese and come from a foodie background so I'd like to think I'm in their target demographic with their Asian meets BBQ aesthetic. Pleased to say that both myself and my girlfriend were very happy with our meals. Poutine, salad, and Ribs were all 3.5 star dishes, I thought the chicken left a little bit more to be desired. Well priced good service, hip."

  • "Ever been to a restaurant where literally every single dish makes you go "Omggggg this is amazing"? That's exactly how you'll feel about Fatty Cue's. We couldn't even decide what our favorites were because we ultimately ended up listing everything we ordered but highlights are the Pappardelle (spicy!) and their "McRib" Bao (you will never think of a McRib in the same way). And on top of having such delish eats, the service was incredible. If you haven't been here yet, don't wait!"

  • "Fatty Cue was insanely wonderful! The food all of it from our starters to desert was delicious. The drinks were Also great, very innovative and there were So many options. They have a great wine list so I have that to look forwards to. The service was superb, everyone makes sure that your time there is fantastic. I can't wait to go back."

  • "Had a decent meal here with friends, but the food seemed very ordinary, nothing special. The tater tots appetizer was no better than those you'd get from your grocer's freezer. The pork belly was okay, but didn't have much flavor. Frisee and mustard green salads were standard fare. My group left full, but not necessarily satisfied. Overpriced for the quality."

  • "The space is very comfortable, and the staff very friendly, but this place is greatly overpriced. From start to finish, beginning with the smallest $11 glass of prosecco (more like a portion at a wine tasting, than an actual glass), followed by the "vegetable" dishes, which consist of raw everything, and finishing with the beef brisket (5 whole slices of meat, on a plate costing $26), you wonder how this place continues to operate. I've had better cuisine at hole in the wall take-out restaurants, at 1/3 the cost."

  • "The food was very good, but this is a very small space and the acoustics are tough. We couldn't even hear the waiter when he was talking to us right at our table."
