A word from Fatta Cuckoo

Fatta Cuckoo is a 36 seat Restauarant on the very vibrant and flavorful Clinton Street, on the Lower East Side. Leah Tinari and husband Martin Kirchoff opened Fatta Cuckoo in 2011. The kitchen is headed up by Chris Mitchell and all the desserts are made by Leah's mom, Janice Tinari. All of the… produce is sourced at the local markets by the chef and owner the very same day it will be served on your plate! The restaurant's seasonal American menu, allows for the kitchen to be influenced by different cuisines and leaves room for many daily seasonal specials, some of which have been inspired by Tinari's family recipes. Please come dine with us and check out our new Fall Menus. Fatta Cuckoo has a wonderful brunch on the weekends with many savory brunch cocktails. The dinner menu is complemented by a nice wine list and a fabulous cocktail list by Christian Schaal. If you are looking to host a private chef's dinner with 15 to 30 plus we would be happy to accommodate you on a Monday night!Continued

"My date and I went on Tuesday which turned out to be Date Night. We could order off the menu or go for the special for couples wich was 70 for an appy, two entrees, two desserts and a whole bottle of wine! Obviously a great deal. The food was delicious and the portions huge. The staff was also attentive and very friendly the whole night. this place is definitely on my to return list."

"not a good eating experience. even though i knew the place was small, it was small and uncomfortable. plastic, backless child's seats.waitstaff was over much. while my companions enjoyed the pork dish, i had lobster ravioli that was very small portion and tasteless. dessert was a keylime pie that they had only 1 1/2 portions and had to go "look for it"! Wine selection was almost non-existent and 1 of the 2 choices of white wine was undrinkable. had to send it back. normally, i enjoy my eating out experiences - not this one. people were friendly but it did not make up for taste."

"Went for New Year's eve. I would call the enviroment cozy (lots of people in a fairly smal space), but still pleasant while feeling energetic. The 3 course menu paired with cocktails was overall very good. The sauce accompanying the lobster ravioli was incredible, as were the spiced jumbo shrimp with the mango avacado salsa. My only negative critique would be that even though I personally enjoyed it, the butternut squash risoto had a very soupy quality, and the flavor profile and consistency was more heavy cheesy, without much flavor of butternut squash. The chocolate dessert was a bit rich and dense whereas the angel food cake was moist, light, fluffy, and just a great way to end the meal. Would still definitely come back again."

"Had New Years Eve dinner at Fatta Cuckoo. Great food and service; offered a wonderful cocktail and wine pairing with dinner. Cozy space. They have a master mixologist tending bar! You will not be disappointed."

"We had a great experience here. They were incredibly friendly and the atmosphere was intimate and homey. Delicious comfort food. The chef came out to the table and explained the dishes to us. They were incredibly accommodating. Will definitely go back."
