We were very happy with our dinning experience at Fat Goose. We had the sauteed calamair and it was very well done. It was very flavorful and not over cooked. I enjoyed the pork which was recommended by our server Janice and it was very nice with a wine sauce. My wife had the fish and enjoyed it. Our first time here and we will be back.

Actually would have given it 3.5 overall, it's just the drinks can really add up and they are not distinguishable. Emily the waitress was a doll and had great suggestions. I am rating it hard, but fair, it's a place I would go back from time to time. So many places in Williamsburg to explore though.

The menu was interesting and the food was well presented however nothing was exemplary. The wine list was pathetic. As with many restaurants in NYC these days course salt was over-used.

I had no idea when I booked it that my daughters & sons-in-laws would REALLY enjoy this restaurant. They loved the food, etc., as did the 4 older people..really a treat!. It's located in Williamsburg, not far from Manhattan, and not too difficult to find parking; we went early @ 7 pm. We all would recommend this place and plan on returning.I thought the decor was attractive and our waitress was really nice.

Overall I enjoyed the food and drinks I had. I had the fried egg sandwich and two Goosenecks. I liked the sandwich and really liked the Gooseneck cocktail though it came in a relatively small glass. The only downside was that the brunch menu seems relatively simple, not too diverse and not a lot of options. So while it was a good experience, the menu didn't leave me watering at the mouth wanting to come back for more.

We dined at the Fat Goose this past Saturday. While many spots nearby were teeming with people, FG was the picture of calm. We were greeted warmly and cared for throughout our meal. We had vegatarian dishes, nice wine and overall, a flavorful experience there. The ambience is quiet however; I can imagine that for brunch, things pick up. Our server was friendly and gave us good guidance. Some of the flavors were decidedly Japanese and held lots of new notes that we were working to place. Nice experience.

This is Carl's wife: Celebrated my birthday here and had a fine little dinner party. Fresh, interesting combos of flavors and crunch throughout the courses. We ordered most of the starters and shared. Never had such good octopus --didn't realize how delicious it could be--not rubbery at all! Main dishes were also winning all around, with a light touch. Desserts are simply lovely--small, tasty portions and worthy endings to a great meal. You won't find any heavy sauces or overdone treatments. You won't leave uncomfortably bloated. Just very satisfied with the entire experience. A very pretty place, in a very cool location. Go early and detour over to the Brooklyn Flea Market!

We came here when we spent the day in Williamsburg. The service was so friendly and the food yummy. Then I spilled a glass of red wine all over the place including my dinner. Remnants of the embarrassing event were whisked away and replaced with a new glass of wine and another piece of fish. They couldn't have been more divine. We're ready to move to Williamsburg.

I'd read some pretty wonderful reviews about Fat Goose, so some friends and I decided to give it a try. We went on a Thursday night. It was quiet and good for catching up. The service was wonderful. The hostess, server and bartender were all patient and accommodating when we asked to switch tables to be near a window. The server made recommendations that highlighted her knowledge of the ingredients on the menu. The food was good, not spectacular, not mind-blowing, but good. (We had the market salad, pork loin, octopus appetizer, and fish of the day.) I prefer my food to be more seasoned than what I ordered. I'd be fine with having it again, but wouldn't necessarily look forward to it. Overall, the experience was pleasant.

I was here on a Tuesday night and it was not crowded, which was great for catching up with friends without needing to shout over the table. The drinks are phenomenal and really unique, exemplifying the word 'rustic.' The food is great, portions are smaller than what you would expect but the flavors on their beautiful plates complement each other so well. I'm definitely impressed and would love to revisit their dishes more in the future! The rabbit appetizer is extremely delicious, and so is their salmon dish.

We went to the Fat Goose spur of the moment. The first thing we noticed was how clean the restaurant was, the decor and ambiance was very nice as well. It's always a great sign when the bathrooms are spotless too. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable in helping us pick a bottle of wine. A $40 bottle that could stand up to $80 bottle in other restaurants. We tried the Veal Cheek Appetizer special and it was phenomenal. We also had the Lamb Shoulder and New York Strip as entree and both were some of the best versions of those dishes I have ever had. The lemon curd desert was unreal, especially for only $7. I'm a real snob about food and Fat Goose hit everything out of the park. Would highly recommend!

It is refreshing to find good service and nice waiters in Williamsburg now a-days. From the time they confirmed the reservation to the end of the meal the service was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully plated, and delicious. I found my salmon slightly under cooked for my taste, and they returned the dish to the kitchen and brought it back out perfectly cooked without wavering. We were so fully engulfed in our drinks and conversation that we didn't notice that the first course took a long time to come out, but the kitchen noticed and without prompting they offered us free desserts to apologize. I would definitely come back to this place. They made us feel welcome and special, the way a dining experience should be.

We recently went here on a Sat evening and had to wait so long for our table that we ended up eating at the bar. It took more than an HOUR to get our appetizers- a soup & salad! We were told everything was "made to order" and that accounted for the delay. Entrees were just as long in coming. The restaurant actually ended up comping our entire meal which was nice but strange. There was no explanation of the delay and had their been any transparency/communication it would have been a much more enjoyable experience. It's a shame because the food is OUTSTANDING. Service and time management are not. In short, go an hour before you are hungry and expect that you will be there for more than 3 hours.

Fat Goose had been on my list for a while and I'm so happy I went. The food was amazing. Really great attention paid to the flavors of each ingredient (cumin, poppy and chia seeds on the butter pat- I'm doing this at home now!) and everything was cooked to perfection. I love duck and when it came out with the skin taken off the filet, crisped and then laid on top, the fat kid inside of me jumped for joy. In short, go and try it. You will not be disappointed.

Our meal was very nice, we had the duck and the pork entrees and both were tasty. They paired the foods with veggies & fruit you do not see all the time which was lovely and the plate set up was beautiful- the food looked as lovely as it tasted. Just quiet enough for great conversation, but not so quiet that you feel alone. Food was delicious, service was attentive and they let us linger for hours. Neither of us are Williamsburg residents so it was an especially nice treat away from all that was going on in Manhattan over Super Bowl weekend. From the impeccable service, to the extraordinary food, romantic ambiance, & affordable price, we were absolutely delighted with fat goose. Delicious food, presented with a foodies eye and a gentle sense of humor and surprise (yes the pre-dessert literally made us giggle once we tasted it). Our server whipped up a fabulous 5 glass wine pairing and a digestiv, not yet on the menu. And the best surprise of all was the check... Only $25 each for all that wine and $55 each for that incredible tasting menu. We would happily have paid double. If you went to the old fat goose, give it another try. The new cook is off the charts good and the new serving staff better than you could wish for.

I've never been to Brooklyn (live in NYC) so we day-tripped it over to do something different. We stopped at Fat Goose because it just looked cute from the outside. We got a few different things and everyone was moaning over how delicious it was. Definitely get the brussel sprout salad. I had the homemade scones with some kid of herbal butter and I honestly couldve eaten three orders of it because it was THAT good (NOT because it was small, it was more than enough for one person). The waitress was lovely and attentive. Unfortunately, there was no vibe there. The restaurant and bar itself is very cute, tiny. They had no music playing though, which I think is where the downfall is. They have these giant windows that open into the street

I really enjoyed our experience at this wonderful restaurant. Laura and Connor were absolutely incredible and the very best. Laura was one of the best waitpersons that I've ever had. She knew the menu items, recommended some incredible dishes (pork shoulder and Caesar Salad), along with some mighty fine drinks - Penicillin for one. Connor was right there all the time, ensuring dishes when completed were taken away and water promptly filled. To say that we were impressed would be an understatement. Truly a most memorable experience from service to food preparations. Special kudos for a job well done and we are definitely going to recommend your wonderful establishment and return again and again. Thank you.
