Fast Food FrancaisPerfect Sausalito neighborhood gemI just moved from SF to Sausalito and wandered into this wonderful outpost of Le Garage. LG is on the water, but F3 is on Caledonia. Great street off the tourist track. Great burgers, wonderful frites, and a lovely wine list. Lots of authentic French working here which only adds to the ambience. This will definitely be a regular on my list of faves.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMJust What Sausalito NeededHad a terrific small plates dinner at F3. I'll be back soon!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic As AlwaysBruno & Terry are the perfect hosts. Love the BOS burger, the Ribs and the Wedge!!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the relaxed, hip vibeLoved the relaxed, hip vibe although the ambient noise level was pretty high and made chatting across the table a loud affair. That's the only downside as the food is wonderful - we tried the stuffed zucchini flowers and they were a big hit with our 10 and 12 year olds. They highly recommend the Mac n cheese and the cheeseburger, and my husband loved his tuna. I had the steak and it was sublime. My fave was definitely the Brussels sprout chips - they were awesome.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench host/manager was amazinglyFrench host/manager was amazingly attentive! He checked on us several times. Will be back for a burger next time!5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it. A great additionLove it. A great addition for the locals. Wonderful value5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique SpotRarely is a dining experience exactly what it is billed to be; in this case "Frenchified American comfort food." The American-inspired dishes executed with a deft French touch were delightful and satisfying. Service was attentive, friendly, and efficient. The beer and wine selections were perfectly appropriate for the food selection. We'll go back to try several dishes that we didn't order on our first visit. I would have no problem recommending this spot to someone looking for a casually chic venue with great, fun food.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and concept. They'veGreat food and concept. They've taken great foods and flavor and put them in a form of burgers. I had a duck confit that was pulled meat. Never had before. Delicious. A little hard to hear your dinner mate due to acoustics. Don't let that deter you. I suggested a take out window. I'd go every week. Also, wine menu was great. All bottles are $36 flat price.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSausalito Fun Food SpotGreat place for burgers and other goodies. Loved the rose from Provence and my boyfriend loves the wide range of beers on tap. The green beans were perfectly cooked - slightly crispy yet done - with yummy seasoning. I drooled over the duck confit burger while he totally enjoyed the burger with wild boar bacon. And the fries were divine- crispy and not greasy! Our waiter was attentive but not hovering and had a good sense of humor. We spoke with the owner on our way out to see if they could accommodate some specific food allergies and he assured us they can. We've already told 4 people about this great new restaurant.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMYUMWe have been many times and the food is YUMMY and we always leave happy.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMcasual european in SausalitoI am a very selective customer of restaurants. F 3 is really wonderful. I would like to go back and bring friends to this quiet, sunny "out of the way of tourists" restaurant.
The service was wonderful and the owner came out to check on us. I WILL go back.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPre and post movieExcellent light fare before or after the movie just down the street.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest YetI ate at F3 for the fourth time this week, and was surprised that the food was even better than before -- which had previously been good enough for a second, third, and fourth visit. The bavette steak with green beans in a sensational sauce is a five-star dish. No change for the chocolate mousse -- still fabulous. This restaurant is fun, delicious, and affordable.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat concept well executed.Great concept well executed. 2nd time, The food is very well prepared. The service is outstanding. Manager touches every table, Chef touches every table, waitstaff is timely and not overly present. I really like this place. Wine by the glass program is strong. If you want good proteins well prepared and delicious this is the place.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I were meetingMy husband and I were meeting a friend for Sunday lunch. The only negative for us was the noise level. We asked to be moved outside after we had been seated a couple of minutes because we knew we wouldn't be able to visit over the loud thumping music. The weather was beautiful so that was a great decision. We actually enjoyed the quieter music coming out of the neighboring restaurant. Although not the most scenic block in Sausalito, the area is conveniently located and free 2 hour parking was easy to find. The area was not packed with tourists which we consider a big plus. The staff was attentive and the food was great. We shared a bottle of rose and had the salmon salad special and a salmon sandwich.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good, somewhat randy staff;-)Brussels sprout chips - delicious. Burger really good and cooked correctly, kale salad very good, tasted parsnip mushroom soup - very good. My only small complaint is the randy staff - host, waiter. I know - THEY'RE FRENCH - but i came for dinner, not suggestive comments. I love a little bit of friendly flirtation but this was slightly over the line into "did he really say that?" Don't get me wrong - i will most definitely go again, but will be prepared for it next time.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, interesting twistGood food, interesting twist on burgers with French culinary methods, interesting décor and lots of space. There's even an upstairs tv lounge for viewing sports and a bar, so soccer or baseball fans can get their fill...4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great idea of theAnother great idea of the owners of "Le Garage" and "L'Apart". This time, more in tune with the need for a different fast food while providing a place to meet people in a great decorum and adding to the choice of restaurants so close to downtown Sausalito.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great lunch! Menu isHad a great lunch! Menu is really unique and the Brussel Sprout chips were to die for!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the food! So nice toLove the food! So nice to have a new GREAT place in Marin. Wonderful staff!
Been four times in a month!4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMoysters were tasty, but couldoysters were tasty, but could have been cooked a little more - steak was too chewy, had gristle - the fried brussle sprouts are difficult to dip in the sauce and then eat
service was great3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI enjoyed my whole experienceI enjoyed my whole experience at Fast Food Francais and would certainly go back.
The service was very good and the food excellent.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAttentive, friendly but not-overbeaAttentive, friendly but not-overbearing service; dishes we ordered were excellent: brussel sprout chips, fried oysters beignets, kale caesar salad (kale is an unusual choice but it worked with the flavor of the authentic "maitre d-at-tableside-made" caesar dressing once we got used to the more "muscular" greens), and the wild boar bacon burger was as another delectable choice. The Sable Breton was the perfect not-too-sweet end to a delightful meal.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSausalito's new neighborhood gemF3 continues to be my new neighborhood favorite. Considering its its talented foodie heritage, we weren't surprised to discover that this addition to the LeGarage family features a menu that's both delicious and smart. My current addictions: Niman Ranch Bavette with haricot verts and bearnaise; brussels sprouts chips; decadent ice cream sandwich.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMIt is a noisy place that IIt is a noisy place that I attracting a younger crowd which seems elusive in Marin.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great, butEverything was great, but the service was a little too good. There was not 2 minutes where someone was not at our table, asking about refills, asking if we were finished, it was very distracting and made it hard to enjoy our meal. Horrible to complain about too much attentiveness but it really made eating and talking uncomfortable as we were interrupted easily 50 times during our meal.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat local spot!Had the turkey burger, which was excellent, and shared the mac and cheese appetizer. They have lots of things on the menu I'd like to try, now just wish they weren't located 3,000 miles away from home!2/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Name Doesn't Describe it...Went to F3 for lunch with a friend on a sunny Sausalito day
Net net:
* Great service. Safia is definitely worth asking for. The owner, Terry, talked to us on the way in, briefly during the meal, and as we left. Just the right amount of service and no more.
* Good food. Liked the sparkling water with LIME. (G&T history??) Liked the Brussels sprouts chips, loved the iceburg lettuce salad and added the wild boar bacon lardons. Loved the fried oyster beignets appetizer that I had as the main. The coconut tapioca was just enough in both size and sweetness. An espresso to finish.
* Great atmosphere. Can't wait to see the garden in the back in full tilt. And love the concept of live chickens providing fresh eggs.
All in first two weeks!2/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
