"This is a follow up to my review of last week. We wrote the restaurant and had an immediate response from one of the owners and an offer for another meal to help make up for our poor experience. We went back for my birthday, and once again, I can now recommend this restaurants to friends. They rectified the overbooking situation and gave me a great meal to remember. We also got to meet and chat with Chef Morou and compliment him on the fantastic meal. They did everything they were supposed to do to help make an unhappy customer a happy one again."

"We chose Farrah Olivia based on reviews and we purchased a Living Social deal for the restaurant. Overall the food was good (but I was expecting great to fantastic based on the reviews), the service was a little overwhelming (we had a very intense waiter, but not exactly the best service - or fine dining service), and the ambiance was noisy. I was surprised that the room was as noisy as it was, and it wasn't noise from other diner's conversation, but more of a din from the kitchen and outside of Farrah Olivia. I'll be honest, I was expecting a lot more, especially for the price. They did interesting things with the food and gastronomy, but I wouldn't say the meal was incredible. I'm glad we tried the restaurant-the prix fixe is worth it"

"The food, as always, was amazing. However, the service was lacking and we left without eating our dessert. We ordered a cheese plate and got tired of waiting after 45 minutes. After another 15 minutes of waiting, we finally got our check after hunting down the waiter. After having been a fan of Farrah Olivia since it was in Old Town and then following it to Crystal City, I was really disappointed at how we were treated that evening. I love the food, but the service was so bad that I don't know how I can recommend this to other diners."

"We dined at Morou's former location and had one of the best meals we'd ever eaten in Washington (and we've been to some fine places). He is a brilliant and creative chef and though this meal didn't meet up to the level of the previous one - it is clear that sharing a kitchen with the Kora restaurant is a challenge -it was still quite a delicious series of courses. The primary annoyance was that the room is right near Kora's bar and the crowd was loud. For the type of meal one seeks at Farrah Olivia, the background din did not match up with the need to slowly savor his thoughtful combinations of flavors and textures. This is not the right venue for Morou. We will look for him to move to a more fitting location for his culinary talent."

"The food at Farrah Olivia is among the area's finest - innovative and spectacularly presented. Although service was slow due to shortstaffing, the waiters worked valiantly to ensure a reasonably pleasant experience and I'm sure if fully staffed, their combined efforts would be seamless. But the "restaurant-within-a-restaurant" back room lacks all the charm of Farrah's former space in Old Town; despite the lovely food and potentially great service, that depressing space alone would probably keep me from coming back with friends."

"My friend and I enjoyed the three-course prix fixe dinner. We began with the beet salad. Presentation is everything in nouvelle cuisine, so the highlight of this dish -- beyond the taste -- was the way the lettuce was presented in a cup made of the rice paper from which spring rolls are made. I went with the hanger steak for my entrée. It was thinly sliced with lobster butter and a date wine reduction sauce and served with a mushroom flan that contained spaghetti squash. I finished with the Taste of Textures dessert: sweet and salty pears, palm sorbet and a sweet fruit gelatin. Just delicious; absolutely delicious!!! Everything was served at a leisurely pace, but our waiter seemed distracted and could have been more attentive. Farah Olivi"
