Diner Reviews
  • "We were looking for a place to dine in this neighborhood with good reviews and found it on “Yams”. Everything was great: the food, the service, our waiter. We definitely will recommend it to other customers."

  • "Always get a good meal here. Friendly staff...good food. When in the mood for Greek food, Faros is a good choice."

  • "This was the best dinner my wife and I had in at least over a year. The appetizers were large and very tasty. Both the lamb shank (I had) and the chicken kebob (my wife had) were amongst the best entrees we ever had. Love this place!"

  • "We have been going here for some time and the food has been mostly good. One time the meat was slightly chewy. This time, my wife's shrimp was not completely cooked and was sent back. Some of the returned shrimp was again not completely cooked. I shared that with our server who said he would tell the manager. The manager never bothered to come over and say anything to us. Too expensive to have your food served uncooked."

  • "I recently enjoyed an anniversary dinner at Faros and thoroughly enjoyed it. My hubby is a picky eater who doesn't eat meat - so finding a restaurant with lots of options for both of us is always interesting. Faros was perfect, with many seafood options. My husband enjoyed the Branzino, called Lavraki on Faros' menu. It was a perfectly cooked whole fish, deboned for service. Served with EVOO, capers, and a lemony sauce on top, it was delish! I enjoyed the grilled baby lamb chops with Faros' signature fries (seasoned with oregano and feta cheese). The service was attentive without being overbearing and the rear courtyard provided a perfectly romantic ambiance. Overall, Faros is a great neighborhood gem that I'd go back to again and again."

  • "The fish was nicely cooked and deboned. We had a very nice salad with Greek cheese, green leaves, figs and cranberries, very fresh! Our waiter was a very nice gentleman who knew how to do his job very well. Planning to go back!"

  • "It was my first time to Faros. I brought two friends that had never tasted Greek cuisine and we all loved. Large variety of dishes for all tastes. Definitively a good choice!"

  • "This was my first time dinning at Faros as well as my frst time at a greek restaurant. My parents was in town and it's Father's Day. I figured we'll all try something new. Not knowing if any of us would like it, we went in. The look, feel of the place was nice and comfortable. The staff was welcoming, all smiles & very patient. We ordered the Crispy Zucchini Chips with Garlic Potato Puree (Appetizer). It was very tasty with a lite crunch & peared wonderful with the potato puree. As for dinner, everyone love what they order and the portions were big enough to share (Love it). from the Grilled Pork & Spinach Rice (my favorite), the Grilled Baby Lamb Chops & Roasted Potatoes and Grilled Free Range Chicken Breast w Meyer Lemon over Rice Pilaf."

  • "This was our second time at Faros, having stumbled on the place a few weeks ago by accident. We picked it for a dinner with friends because we really liked the food and ambiance, could see the noise wouldn't be so overpowering that we couldn't hear each other. We were again happy with the experience"

  • "The restaurant is charming, warm (beautiful fireplace), comfortable and immaculate. The staff could not have been nicer or attentive to our group of 10. We sampled many appetizers and entrées and all were very delicious. Our experience was so enjoyable, we returned later that evening with a group of 20 for cocktails. They could not have been more accommodating. If you want exceptional food and to be treated like family this is the place to go. We will definitely return to enjoy the outside seating."

  • "Superb avgolomeno soup by myself in the afternoon in front of a crackling fire was my first experience of this gem, then I brought some family members for an adult birthday dinner. Everything about the ambience, service, and food was warm, and I'd bring a friend or a date with no hesitation -- this restaurant is equally fine for a business lunch or romantic meal. We each ordered something different, and every dish was delicious.. Nothing if fake here, the warmth of the service felt genuine. I've been eating out in and near Park Slope for fifty years, and have not had a better restaurant experience than this."

  • "This is our third time at Faros. We love the upscale but cozy atmosphere so thought it would be a good choice for New Years Eve. You had the option of a special pre fix menu or eating al a carte from the regular menu. We choose the regular menu .Excellent authentic Greek food with friendly attentive staff. Great seafood choices, so many that it was hard to choose. I loved my mussels with feta cheese in a white broth & for my entree a sauteed seafood mix over rice pilaf . My boyfriend who is a meat eater was very happy with his Greek meatballs & Rib Eye. We shared the baklava, one of the best we've had"

  • "Going to different Greek restaurants this is by far the best. The octopus, saganaki, bronzini, and moussaka are a MUST try!"

  • "From the moment we walked in we were blown away by the warm, intimate ambiance and personal attention--not to mention amazing food and wine. I meant to write a detailed review after we were there in November 2013 but didn't get to it right away--my apologies, Faro! We were so delighted (: We have been telling friends and plan to return soon. Your restaurant and friendly staff impressed us like few ever do. Thank you for a memorable evening!"

  • "If you are planning on coming to this restaurant because you love Salsa music, get here early. Most seats at the bar and the couches are taken by 8:30 p.m. Book a table and have a great meal while listening to great music. Be sure to try the lamb chops or the Tuscan seafood stew.....to die for!!!!"

  • "As a repeat customer, I'm glad to see that the food continues to be of good quality. FAROS never disappoints. I like to start with the grilled octopus...no capers please. It is always very tender. Stuffed grape leaves for my girlfriend. For my main meal I tried the grilled pork chops, which I enjoyed. She always orders the Pasticio, which she thinks is very good. They are always friendly here, and I look forward to my next visit. NAD"

  • "Had to go to Brooklyn for other reasons and looked for a treat on Open Table to help make the trip a good one. Picked Faros based on location and reviews. Totally worth it. Very relaxing on a beautiful sunday to sit up front and people watch on the street with the front of the place open. Very tasty spinach salad with a great, tangy grilled chicken breast on top. My partner had poached eggs over smoked salmon on toasted baguette slices. Not fussy, but very well done with polite attentive service. Made for a nice break in a stressful trip. Not exactly a scenic view, but the people watching was totally worth it."

  • "First time there, can't wait to go back. We were a party of 4 and each of us felt the same: what a find! Their appetizers were one better than the next. We had hummus, special stuffed eggplant, spanakopita, saganaki, melitzanosalata, and tzatziki. Each served with a pita bread that was delicious. Entrees were also ample and delicious. I had the meatless mousakas, which was even better the next day for lunch. If you have room for dessert, try the rice pudding or the Greek yogurt with walnuts and honey. The service staff were excellent. They were attentive but not hovering and they didn't rush us one bit. You should enjoy this place if you have the opportunity to go."

  • "Excellent Greek food. Warm cozy atmosphere. Very pleasant friendly staff who really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We have been there twice this summer with different fiends & all have been very pleased .We live in the neighborhood but our friends from Westchester & Queens thought it worth the trip."

  • "This Park Slope Greek restaurant has many Greek specialties, including meze of many types plus traditional Greek dishes. We have eaten here many times and the service is always friendly and attentive. The food is excellent and the fresh fish is superbly done. SOmetimes we have a number of small meze plates; other times we have the fish, moussaka, or other traditional dishes. A long room with a small garden in back for outdoor dining in good weather and a fireplace in winter. Highly recommended if you are in the area."
