Farmstead at Long Meadow RanchFarmsteadAmazing restaurant and superb service! Wonderful menu and food! Love it, will definitely use this restaurant for all our special occasions!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food all the time. VeryGreat food all the time. Very comfortable food, fresh, innovative. Just fun. Eat outside among the vineyards.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the Better Napa Valley Rest.We have dined hear three times now and very pleased every time. Farmstead is doing everything right and I will return.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat mealThe Farmstead was recommended to us and we gave it a try on a day trip to Napa with friends from the East Coast.
Was terrific. Hamburger was amazing and biscuits a must have.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond visit here. First timeSecond visit here. First time everything was wonderful. This time, both steaks (ordered medium rare) were a little dry and tough and the risotto was a bit oily, but the rest of the food - pork chop, salads, desserts - were excellent. Service was also excellent. We will come back again.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place to eatGreat ambience, upscale casual. Service was great, all the courses timed perfectly. Food was also great, I wouldn't say "to die for", but very good. cheddar biscuits were tasty, as well as the artichoke. Ordered the eggs benedict - most notable was the perfectly done crispy potato nuggets- kinda like french fries!! my cousin ordered the porkchop- it was perfect cooked, very juicy. Nice place for brunch, probably dinner too.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific.this was our second time eating here. the prior was for brunch, which was outstanding. this time we had lunch. the food was insanely good. best ice tea i've ever had. the ketchup was out of this world. i know it's hard to get excited about ketchup, but try this and you'll see. we ate outside under the filtered sun awnings. just terrific. our server was excellent-friendly and knowledgeable.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Napa diningGreat indoor ambiance and outdoor seating. Great spot to hang out in the outdoor bar with some appetizers and wine. Everything on the menu is delicious. The oysters are a bit weak and i probably won't get these again. I would come back and try more of the appetizers.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Ambiance, Beef lackingThe feel and ambiance of Farmstead was great. Food was fresh, delicious, and just great overall. The only complaint would be with the steaks. They were very chewy and hard to deal with, even Medium rare. There is much better grass fed beef out there, however everything else we had, and the seasoning on the steaks was great.
I would definitely reccomend this place, but not if your looking for a great 'steak place', but more of a
Napa/California Cuisine restaurant with rustic flare and elegant comfort.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMStunning fishDined at Farmstead with 4 couples Service was perfect. The appetzers were good but the mains were outstanding! Several of us had the sole ( myself included) that was an amazing flavour blend. I can't stop thinking about it and am longing to go back! Another friend had the trout and feels the same! The bar scene and restaurant had a lot of local farmers vintners. Always a good sign. Highly recommend Farmstead.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFarmstead at Long MeadowThe food was excellent. The trout was especially good says my wife. I liked the pork. Take time to walk the grounds when you're done. When we came, the roses were exceptional.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ribs were outstandingThe ribs were outstanding but the trout dish didn't have much flavor. Would definately return but not order fish.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful placeVery much enjoyed dining at Farmstead. The food and the ambience were quite good. Had the fried chicken special which I thoroughly enjoyed but the butterscotch bread pudding I thought was too sweet.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Ending to the DayWe started at the outdoor bar for happy hour, nice wine list a cool snacks. Dinner inside was astonishing. The service, the ambiance and the food were all off the chart.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant, especiallyWonderful restaurant, especially when seated in their outside dining area.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very enjoyable SundayWe had a very enjoyable Sunday brunch at Farmstead. We had reservations but arrived early and were seated promptly. The Mimosas were fresh OJ, the bacon was perfectly crispy, and the cinnamon rolls were fantastic. Really nice menu with great service.
Definately give this place a try.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food and service,Amazing food and service, Farmstead never disappoints.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFour of us had dinner together...Four of us had dinner together... table was ready when we arrived in a perfect spot. My wife and the other couple ordered grilled artichoke... excellent choice. I skipped the appetizer because the smoked St Louis ribs was a full rack... and it was outstanding.
We brought a 2010 Broman Sauvignon Blanc; the $2 (amazing!) corkage fee is donated to local charity. Restaurant wine selection was also excellent with several local wineries represented. We chose 2009 Shypoke Charbono... I haven't had this grape variety in years. This winery owns a large percentage of the remaining worldwide acreage! The wine was terrific. Order it to help them stay in business!
We will be back the next time we're in St Helena.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFarmstead serves wonderfully,Farmstead serves wonderfully, fresh & fantastic tasting food in a beautiful setting with happy & friendly wait-staff. The soup & salads were creative and the beef was DELICIOUS. Every dish that we saw served looked inviting, well-proportioned. The grounds and gardens are lovely to walk through and the wine/olive oil tastings were another treat. It was by far, one of the best meals we've had this week in the Napa valley. Hoping to try it again before we head home.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI went with 3 friends andI went with 3 friends and everything we ordered was superb. It was one of the best meals I've ever had and will definitely go back on my next trip!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!!!! Strawberry shortcakeExcellent!!!! Strawberry shortcake is incredible! I loved the topping for the rainbow trout, a mixture of fennel, bacon, toasted almonds and wild mushrooms...yum yum
Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and fast service. We will definately go to this restaurant again and suggest to friends!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFarmstead is our favorite!!We live in Northern Napa County part time, and this is BY FAR, our favorite restaurant in the area. Not only is the food always top notch, the atmosphere can't be beat (two great outdoor seating areas) and there's a cool vibe that is unmatched anywhere in the area. Farmstead's charm is in no small part due to Chef Kipp Ramsey, who always makes guests feel at home and pampered with his unique Southern hospitality. My husband and I give Farmstead top marks for all categories: date nights with just the two of us, for special occasions, for dinners with local friends, and visiting guests. It's the rare place that feels like a celebration in a low-key atmosphere.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGo!Best honeymoon dinner in NapaWe came here for dinner on our honeymoon. It was so incredibly good, we will never forget the meatballs, the margaritas and especially the ribs. The service was fantastic, it was a great location, great space and they grow / farm raise pretty much everything they serve. After going to the Michelin starred restaurants in napa, we felt more satisfied and happier coming out of farmstead ( not to mention our wallets )
Amazing place, we will never forget it!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my top 3 dining experiencesDefinitely one of my top 3 dining experiences in Napa Valley (and I've eaten at most restaurants in the valley). The food was spectacular, very innovative (the best steak tartare of anywhere), masterfully prepared food. An overall very down-to-earth place to go. Ambience very fitting to the location. Although it was quite busy, service was timely, humble, observant, honest and just plain nice. No corkage fee! You won't find pretentious here. It's just perfect all around!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful meal, great ambiance! My third time dining at Farmstead and I loved it once again. Our server, Greg, was extremely knowledgable, warm and welcoming and attuned to our group. The grilled artichoke won us all over: simple yet great flavor! The rest of our meal was fantastic. I will definitely return - again!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstanding experienceThis was a return visit for us. My husband and I enjoy the hospitality and great food at Farmstead. The grounds are beautiful as well. The decor is a combination of modern styling and rustic charm that we find appealing.
After our first visit we were informed of, and equally impressed by, their no corkage policy. A fee of $2 per bottle is donated to a local nonprofit organization toward community improvement each month.
We found the chili and the pulled pork sandwich to be both flavorful and satisfying. The cookies and the pan grilled olive cake were fabulous choices for dessert.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly enjoyed out lunch, St.Truly enjoyed out lunch, St. Louis ribs and pulled-pork sandwich. Everyone should order side dish of Cheese Biscuits ... unbelievable, with or w/o the honey-butter, but, why not, butter it up.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMYum.Farmstead is our new favorite. Grilled artichoke, beet salad, roasted crab, brick cooked chicken , lemon meringue pie.... Pretty tasty, a bit loud but still enjoyed the experience. Super service this time.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMMy first time to Farmstead. My first time to Farmstead. I met two of the chefs a couple of nights before I went and I was very impressed with them. They were so proud of Farmstead, the freshness of the food and their own contribution. Rarely have I met chefs who had little else to talk about except their job and the food they prepared. Their glowing remarks and dedication to their job prompted me to try Farmstead and I wasn't disappointed; everything they said was true.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome!!Wow this place rocks. I went for Sunday brunch and I can't wait to go back for dinner. They make fabulous fun cocktails. I had the biscuits and gravy and the hash for brunch and I thought about my meal for days!! We took our 22 month old and the service was fabulous! We saw couples having a nice romantic lunch!! Great time!!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, rustic environment,Great food, rustic environment, made from products grown and raised on the property. A meal gets you a discounted wine tasting.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFour of us enjoyed a lovelyFour of us enjoyed a lovely lunch at Farmstead. Our server was friendly, timely but not intrusive and made really good suggestions. Our favorites were the ham biscuits, macaroni and cheese, meatballs and the amazing Lemon meringue pie. Was surprised that the beets in the beet salad were warm and the goat cheese was melted. I think it would have been better cold. The cheeseburger was good but not a standout. Loved the atmosphere and decor and would definitely return.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic! From the firesideFantastic! From the fireside seating at the outside bar for fabulous cocktails to the rustic yet warm interior and incredible food and service, a truly perfect dining experience!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWas seated outside right acrossWas seated outside right across from the Farmer's Market and garden. Was delighted to see and smell pork being roasted outdoors over open fire pit. Had the soup of the day (Posole), grilled asparagus with lemon ricotta and the LMR cheeseburger with egg added. All of it was delicious. Lemonade packed a punch, but like it sour so chose to leave out the sugar. Nice ambiance despite the cars rolling by on Hwy 29; far enough away not to be bothered by it. The service was attentive without hovering. Tables far enough apart so can have conversation without hearing other tables. Had a nice walk exploring the beautiful grounds afterwards.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI thought the food at FarmsteadI thought the food at Farmstead was very good. The Crab Bisque was outstanding. The grilled artichoke appetizer was, well... A grilled artichoke. I had the ribs. They give you a generous portion, and best of all, they had a nice smoke ring on the meat and a great smoke flavor! Only negative was that they brought out the soup about a minute after they served the appetizer.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place. Our thirdLove this place. Our third time there. The atmosphere and food are great. The setting is beautiful. Enjoy some wine tasting before or after in the adjacent farm house.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat spot in Napa ValleyGreat spot in Napa Valley wine country! Food was excellent. We had cocktails at the bar since our table wasn't ready when we got there. They actually forgot about us for about a half hour, but apologized and made up for it with free dessert!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had an excellent dinnerWe had an excellent dinner here. All of the staff were very friendly, engaging, helpful and great at making us feel welcome. We had many of their sides, the oysters, the artichoke, and two main dishes. Everything was great. Our only disappointment was they were out of their chocolate pie, which we had heard was amazing. Have to come back on our next trip.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMCheddar biscuits are a must.Cheddar biscuits are a must. The meatballs are a great starter. The hamburger is the best you will ever have.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHave liked everything thatHave liked everything that I have ever ordered here, but the mini ham sandwiches are amazing - biscuits stuffed with speck and paper jelly. We'veVery good, as usual. We've ben here several times now, and it's certainly one of our favorites.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll be back! When I couldn't get a reservation at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), I asked for a recommendation and they suggested Farmstead. The food at Farmstead is soooo good. We started with the grilled artichoke - fabulous. I had the trout for my main course. It was nicely prepared, but I was a little disappointed when I learned afterwards that it was farmed, although sustainably farmed, but still farmed, which I wouldn't normally order. Ask for the bread with salt on top (free). Side of crispy potatoes - yummy.
We ordered the cookies for dessert. How good were they? We drove half an hour the next evening, after we had eaten at another restaurant, just to have the cookies again. Yep, they were that good.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways on top. When we need a go to restaurant, it is Farmstead. You can not go wrong. We split time between SF and Napa. When in Napa everyone talks about Farmstead. When in SF, everyone talks about Farmstead. You need to meet Kip Ramsey, a top Chef at the place. When he comes out to meet you at your table, you feel never feel rushed and he always has a story. This place is over top, in a land that has the best food in the world. if you only get one meal in Napa, make it Farmstead.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMEXCELLENT FOOD, BUT VERY NOISYEXCELLENT FOOD, BUT VERY NOISY IN THE RESTAURANT. WAIT PERSON WAS NOT THE GREATEST, BUT WOULD STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE RESTAURANT!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
