Farmstead at Long Meadow RanchSt. Louis Ribs, melt in your mouth!I would definitely go back to Farmstead! The food and service were outstanding!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Fried Chicken!Went for fried chiken Tuesday...delicious pre-fix menue, added the cheddar biscuits w/honey butter...delicious!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dinner!!We went for the fried chicken, and it was amazing. Shaun was our waiter and took great care of us. Potato rolls, chocolate cream pie and artichoke were all delicious. We sat outside, it was so comfortable and relaxing. We will definately be back!6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!Recommended for our time in Napa, we were NOT disappointed. Such a fantastic evening.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMNever DisappointsEvery visit is better than the last. Love the experience.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome FoodI had the roast beef sandwich adn had a taste of the burger and both were incredible. The biscuits are a must too6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great experienceA friend from NYC was in town, and we drove up for lunch. We got caught in heavy traffic and ended up arriving 30 minutes past our reservation, but Farmstead held our table! (We made a courtesy call to let them know we were running late.) The service was excellent as always and the food delicious--not fancy--just fresh, tasty and well-prepared. I will continue to choose this restaurant over most other options in the Napa/St Helena area.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food - can get crowdedDefinitely make reservations. The food was good - I had the ribs, blue cheese coleslaw and grilled asparagus. Other dishes I saw come out also looked great. The wine choices were fine. The service was ok - I did sit at the bar. They were busy with some large groups.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great EveningFarmstead was a great "find" for us. As frequent visitors to Napa Valley, we always look for cool places and Farmstead certainly qualifies! We enjoyed every minute and the staff were very welcoming and knowledgable. Food is all organic, farm raised and very, very fresh.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWE'LL GO AGAINWe loved the farm decor and family
feel of Farmstead. Our daughter and her
adult sons loved the oysters, while my
husband liked his risotto and my favorites
were the arugula salad with chicken and
the chocolate pie! One grandson stayed
with us for the country music until 10 p.m.
in the outside bar. Great!!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFarmstead Outdoor SeatingWe ordered the day's special: Grilled Chicken (4 stars). The bean and vegetable cassoulet under the chicken was the best part. We also shared a grilled artichoke (5 stars) and it was outstanding. We also ordered the short ribs (4 stars). The house red wine (5 stars) paired perfectly with the ribs.
Note: 4 stars = quite good
5 stars = over the top/outstanding6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI love this place!!The food is fantastic. The service is excellent and the prices are reasonable for right in the middle of Napa Valley. I really enjoy this place. You can always count of the food quality and innovative menu. The outdoor bar area is a great place to have a great drink while waiting. Next time I'll arrive early so I can spend more time outside and just relax.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMStop reading reviews and goSeriously, stop reading. It's awesome. Trust me and go. Amazing food, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Gorgeous building and grounds. Best thing I did in Napa. Go now!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExtraordinaryThe perfect place when your party includes meat lovers and vegetarians. Service was sublime.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHearty and heartfulThe food at Farmstead is notable for both the size and the composition of the portions. "Hearty" is the right way to describe it. The chicken under a brick delighted my wife. This was a lovely place to celebrate her birthday. The outdoor patio, where we enjoyed dessert, is a gem. There are century old trees hanging over the patio. This is a simple and a special place. Fine food, awesome ambience.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFavorite Restaurant in NapaOn a recent trip to Napa, we dined at Ad Hoc, Redd's, Auberge du Soliel, Mustard's Grill, and Farmstead. Farmstead was our favorite, hands down. I would highly recommend it to anyone who will be in the area.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food; spotty serviceI made a late dinner reservation after a day of wine tasting. I don't know if the late reservation effected our service, but our waiter seemed like he did not want to be bothered by us. He took our drink order, but drinks arrived about 15 minutes later. He did not go over specials, nor did he explain anything on the menu. I asked him what he recommended, and he told me the ribs, which were great, but way too heavy for an 8:30 PM dinner. Food was great, but had to deduct t he one star for the bad service.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous place! This was my second time here. The place is amazing. Don't go to the Napa Valley without eating here! If you don't you will regret it!5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMdelicious! !This was my second time having dinner here. I love the food! If you love meats then thos is a much spot. The feel is a little more casual (restoration hardware) but the food makes the resturant more "foodie friendly". I hi ghly recommend the fat pot, burger and ribs. Oh and the cheddar biscuits! The service is pretty laid back and the garden landscaping is beautiful.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNapa WeekendThe setting is wonderful, both inside and out. I wish we had arrived earlier so we could have tasted the olive oils. The outside scene was inviting and outside bar looked very comfortable. We had our two kids, 8 & 10, and the staff was very friendly to them providing lots of Wiki sticks for their entertainment. The kids also liked the decor, notably the huge Bison/Buffalo head mounted on the wall. I like the table arrangements too. We only had the 4 of us at our table but the square tables for 8 seemed perfect. The food was creative and fun and we enjoyed reading the story behind Farmstead. We had their LMR wine in the beaker which was fun. Portions were good and while we only had one dessert, the strawberry shortcake was amazing.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of our favoritesWent as a bachelorette party lunch spot. The waitress was very accomodating on allowing us to move to a table where it wasn't too close to the doors, as it was a little chilly outside. All of the food were very fresh. Flavors were clean and seasonal. Beef carpaccio was amazing. Best I've had in a long time. Ribs were very tender. The lemon poundcake and cookies for dessert were the perfect way to end the meal. Out of all the restaurants we've tried on our weekend trip, this was our favorite.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a party of seven andWe had a party of seven and sat outside, it was much quiter. Our server was attentive but the food seem to take a long time. All the entrees we great, burger, steak, ribs except the arberio rice, it had too much olive oil in it. I would not order the rice. There was a wedding going on near where we were sitting. I thought it was quaint and touching. You could see the wedding and hear some of what was going on. I would go back again. I think this would be a great lunch place. I loved that there was only a $2.00 corkage fee and they actually donated the money to a charity.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMHigh quality food and an excellentHigh quality food and an excellent environment! We loved the combinations of ingredients and the farm to table idea. We were there on fried chicken Tuesday and the simplicity and taste was amazing. Great wine selection and warm and friendly staff make you feel like you are at home.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat place to celebrate birthdayswe had a large group of 12 people and they provided a family style menu. the courses were delicious with an amazing kale salad, biscuits and meatballs to start. the entrees included short ribs which were tender and tasty and bbq chicken. they finished it with fresh warm cookies. would def recommend having a nice group meal al fresco dining. you can also bring your dog.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMFarmsteadAmazing restaurant and superb service! Wonderful menu and food! Love it, will definitely use this restaurant for all our special occasions!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe service and ambience atThe service and ambience at Farmstead are absolutely wonderful - for me, it is one of the most relaxing and comfortable restaurants to dine at. A previous trip made me appreciate the food, but a second trip this year put me over the top - the glazed meatball appetizer was one of the best things we ate in our week of traveling, and I'm reasonably convinced that the steak I had was one of the best cuts of beef I have ever had.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food all the time. VeryGreat food all the time. Very comfortable food, fresh, innovative. Just fun. Eat outside among the vineyards.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the Better Napa Valley Rest.We have dined hear three times now and very pleased every time. Farmstead is doing everything right and I will return.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply the BestI'm a local and this is my favorite place in the Valley. Love the artichoke appetizers. And everything else!!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful setting , good foodWe very much enjoyed our lunch at Farmstead on our way back from the Napa Valley. It's on the southern outskirts of downtown St. Helena, next to a winery and a small farm. Food was very good, though the roasted artichoke was a bit too burned and dried out. (Wood fires too much all the rage these days!) The desserts, a very fresh and fragrant strawberry sorbet, and a luscious olive oil cake with vanilla gelato were to die for! The only drawback was our lackluster service, adequate, but not on a par with the setting or food.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat mealThe Farmstead was recommended to us and we gave it a try on a day trip to Napa with friends from the East Coast.
Was terrific. Hamburger was amazing and biscuits a must have.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond visit here. First timeSecond visit here. First time everything was wonderful. This time, both steaks (ordered medium rare) were a little dry and tough and the risotto was a bit oily, but the rest of the food - pork chop, salads, desserts - were excellent. Service was also excellent. We will come back again.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMNice place to eatGreat ambience, upscale casual. Service was great, all the courses timed perfectly. Food was also great, I wouldn't say "to die for", but very good. cheddar biscuits were tasty, as well as the artichoke. Ordered the eggs benedict - most notable was the perfectly done crispy potato nuggets- kinda like french fries!! my cousin ordered the porkchop- it was perfect cooked, very juicy. Nice place for brunch, probably dinner too.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific.this was our second time eating here. the prior was for brunch, which was outstanding. this time we had lunch. the food was insanely good. best ice tea i've ever had. the ketchup was out of this world. i know it's hard to get excited about ketchup, but try this and you'll see. we ate outside under the filtered sun awnings. just terrific. our server was excellent-friendly and knowledgeable.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Napa diningGreat indoor ambiance and outdoor seating. Great spot to hang out in the outdoor bar with some appetizers and wine. Everything on the menu is delicious. The oysters are a bit weak and i probably won't get these again. I would come back and try more of the appetizers.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Ambiance, Beef lackingThe feel and ambiance of Farmstead was great. Food was fresh, delicious, and just great overall. The only complaint would be with the steaks. They were very chewy and hard to deal with, even Medium rare. There is much better grass fed beef out there, however everything else we had, and the seasoning on the steaks was great.
I would definitely reccomend this place, but not if your looking for a great 'steak place', but more of a
Napa/California Cuisine restaurant with rustic flare and elegant comfort.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat happened to the "Service"???The food and the cocktails made up for the "fair" service. We had to remind our server on 3 separate occasions that we were missing our drink orders. In addition, another server dropped off an appetizer that we didn't order and it took several minutes and the waving of our hands to catch our servers' attention to this. Also, the appetizer that we did order - never came. It's a good thing we each ordered a starter to our main course. The food was outstanding! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal and we didn't let the deficiency in service shadow the quality of the food. We would definitely come back and hope that this was just an isolated incident in regards to the service, since I have been here twice before with no incident.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMStunning fishDined at Farmstead with 4 couples Service was perfect. The appetzers were good but the mains were outstanding! Several of us had the sole ( myself included) that was an amazing flavour blend. I can't stop thinking about it and am longing to go back! Another friend had the trout and feels the same! The bar scene and restaurant had a lot of local farmers vintners. Always a good sign. Highly recommend Farmstead.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFarmstead at Long MeadowThe food was excellent. The trout was especially good says my wife. I liked the pork. Take time to walk the grounds when you're done. When we came, the roses were exceptional.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ribs were outstandingThe ribs were outstanding but the trout dish didn't have much flavor. Would definately return but not order fish.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful placeVery much enjoyed dining at Farmstead. The food and the ambience were quite good. Had the fried chicken special which I thoroughly enjoyed but the butterscotch bread pudding I thought was too sweet.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Ending to the DayWe started at the outdoor bar for happy hour, nice wine list a cool snacks. Dinner inside was astonishing. The service, the ambiance and the food were all off the chart.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful restaurant, especiallyWonderful restaurant, especially when seated in their outside dining area.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a very enjoyable SundayWe had a very enjoyable Sunday brunch at Farmstead. We had reservations but arrived early and were seated promptly. The Mimosas were fresh OJ, the bacon was perfectly crispy, and the cinnamon rolls were fantastic. I'd recommend this brunch to anyone visiting the Napa Valley and I'd be willing to go back to try other meals!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch and saw a groupGreat brunch and saw a group open fire BBQ area that is superb for functions4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFarmstead hits it's stride !!!Our second meal at farmstead based on what had beenA so-so experience in dec 2012. This time we had a great Server, the evening was not rushed, the starters and appsVery good (albeit basic) - a steak tartar, arugula salad withFresh strawberries, local oysters on the half shell. They have a solid wine list , fairly priced and even better theyHave only a $2 corkage fee (and it is donated !) so bring yourOwn special bottle or pay retail on the wine list.Organic beef rules here so we ate the NY Strip which wasTasty as well. All and all - a comfortable, homey place that serves goodFood at a fair price with a reasonably priced wine list to bootGood for crowds , they do a family style menu for bigger groupsAs well4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy New FavoriteWhen our usual lunch stop was closed for a private event, we had lunch here last weekend on the patio. Really nice menu with great service.
Definately give this place a try.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food and service,Amazing food and service, Farmstead never disappoints.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFour of us had dinner together...Four of us had dinner together... table was ready when we arrived in a perfect spot. My wife and the other couple ordered grilled artichoke... excellent choice. I skipped the appetizer because the smoked St Louis ribs was a full rack... and it was outstanding.
We brought a 2010 Broman Sauvignon Blanc; the $2 (amazing!) corkage fee is donated to local charity. Restaurant wine selection was also excellent with several local wineries represented. We chose 2009 Shypoke Charbono... I haven't had this grape variety in years. This winery owns a large percentage of the remaining worldwide acreage! The wine was terrific. Order it to help them stay in business!
We will be back the next time we're in St Helena.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFarmstead serves wonderfully,Farmstead serves wonderfully, fresh & fantastic tasting food in a beautiful setting with happy & friendly wait-staff. The soup & salads were creative and the beef was DELICIOUS. Every dish that we saw served looked inviting, well-proportioned. The grounds and gardens are lovely to walk through and the wine/olive oil tastings were another treat. It was by far, one of the best meals we've had this week in the Napa valley. Hoping to try it again before we head home.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
