A word from Farmshop LA
Farmshop, opened in 2010, is a Restaurant and an Artisanal Market & Bakery located in the historical 1948 Brentwood Country Mart on 26th Street in Santa Monica.

Jeff Cerciello's cuisine focuses on seasonal local ingredients. Irene Verbila from the LA Times wrote " Sunday nights at Farmshop are devoted to fried chicken… it's the best...but the bird I'm nominating as one of the 10 Best Meals is Cerciello's organic roasted chicken...golden and crisp, the flesh dense yet moist, each bite was better than the last."

In addition to highlighting fresh local produce, Farmshop offers a 300 choice California-centric wine list, a market with curated cheeses, charcuterie, artisanal foods and housewares, all an homage to the many California based farmers, producers and purveyors we are proud to showcase.

For dinner we really enjoyed the fried risotto appetizer and the scallops entree. The jidori chicken was cooked well but a little under-seasoned. I also love their brunch; the coddled egg dish is to die for. And there is always the fun of browsing the marketplace after your meal, finding artisan cheeses, seasonings, desserts and other treats. Always a good time at Farm Shop."

Our meal this most recent visit consisted of the chicken liver mousse (crazy delicious), the tomato salad (wowzer), the sweet and bitter green salad (two thumbs up), the bass (fantastic), the scallops (perfectly cooked), and the strawberries and zabaglione (simple and wonderful). They truly knocked it out of the park. Everything is farm fresh and bursting with flavor; the presentation is top-drawer; and what more, our waiter Jared was first rate. This is my new go-to place."

All of the food we ordered was fantastic and we left with full stomachs and many leftovers. A special stand-out was the giant cinnamon bun with pecans - outstanding!"

  • "Not your usual omelet and salad factory. Too many great choices. I love the coddled egg with mushrooms, served with smoked salmon and brioche toast -- simple but so flavorful, ordered this multiple times because I enjoy it so much. Frittata is delicious and makes healthy (or healthy-ish) also satisfying and not austere, packed with flavors. The french toast is decadent and so rich it's almost impossible to eat the entire serving. Cinnamon Danish sounds amazing - but really sweet - great option as a shared treat for the table. Parking is a hassle so we threaten not to go back...we always do! There was a small delay for our brunch reservation - we didn't care - they presented us with fresh old-fashioned peanut butter cookies! "

  • "I keep trying farmshop because I want to like it. The space is great and the staff is very gracious but the food continues to disappoint. I'm talkin specifically about the dinner menu. While everything is very fresh and lovingly prepared, the dishes miss the mark. Each one has just a note or two too many and, more often than not, just taste off. I laud the ambition of the kitchen but at the end of the day the food should be tasty and not just curious. "

  • "The staff was condescending. The ambience is average at best. And the food is just plain pretentious and really bad. The family next to ours reported that their main course was so salty that it was inedible and the staff did nothing. The oysters I ordered were not good and I did not finish them. The staff did not say a word. No bread was brought to the table. The cucumber salad was unimaginative and not very tasty. The "romanesco" cauliflower was really oily and had regular cauliflower mixed in as well as some very burnt pine nuts."

  • "I frequent many of LA's finer dining establishments and I am accustomed to paying high prices. But the exorbitant cost does not justify the good food. I like the farm to table concept and the food was definitely good. But for the fixed price fried chicken Sunday night (only) menu, two glasses of wine, and tip, the bill was $170. That is too much money for two people for this type of "deli dining" style restaurant. So unfortunately I won't go back again."

  • "The food is unbelievably delicious. ALL OF IT. Really loved the Shirred Eggs...one of the most delicious brunch meals I've ever had. The service was chaotic. Although we ordered and the food came quick, it seemed the servers were oblivious to our baby at the table with us. Constantly walking over her with trays of hot coffee and bumping into her high chair, and she wasn't really in the way of anything, they just kind of kept knocking her. We will be back though, it's truly delicious!"

  • "This was the first time we'd been here for dinner - at lunchtime it is essential to book a table, so we were surprised to see so many empty tables in the evening. Service was helpful - our waitress made clear recommendations. The burrata with caviar and maple syrup, with toast, was stunningly good. Then the octopus in squid ink, with roasted potatoes, was equal to it. All done in an unfussy manner, in portions that were not huge, but kind of perfect. We'll be back for dinner in the future, for sure."
