FARMiCiAGreat pre theater spotVery attentive, friendly service. Food came out very quickly yet we never felt rushed. We arrived late yet had plenty time to enjoy coffee and dessert. Interesting menu. Loved the stuffed squash blossoms. Lamb tenderloins were so tender they could have been cut with a fork. Too heavy on the salt though. We will be back!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great - creative,Food was great - creative, eclectic and ample. We liked the large, one price wine list. Service was accommodative and friendly. This was our first time, and we will make a return.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous for every mealI've enjoyed great brunches and dinners and now have added lunch to my experience. We had the best potato and kale soup which I was thrilled because it wasn't salty. Next the fresh turkey, avocado and bacon club was just perfect. The quality ingredients are the key to every dish here. We love all our meals. And the bloody Mary's are fab!!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday dinnerWe are frequent visitors to Farmacia, especially for lunch/brunch and have always enjoyed our visits. The food is always very good. This experience was fine as well, but thought the service was less than attentive, not bad, but our server wasn't around to see if we wanted another glass of wine and had to be asked for the bread basket (good stuff from Metropolitan Bakery).6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst TimerAMAZING AMAING FOOD.
I have heard plenty of great things about this restaurant from fellow foodie friends, and it was always on my list of new places to try! My husband and I finally went on Saturday (thankfully we were smart enough to get reservations because it was pretty full!)
The atmosphere is a great vibe, cool decorations, and youre not enclosed/slammed up against other tables.
We ordered soy sesame shrimp with green beans for an appetizer and we were in love with the place right then.
As entrees, the menu seemed so delicious it was hard to pick!! I got lamb tenderloins with asparagus, and my husband got the duck.
this place had us so extremely happy with our taste buds, we will definitely be back!! it is worth the price!!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways enjoy this place! We've been here a few times and the food is always good. Very fresh, and there are always some very unique offerings. Even several offerings for vegetarians, as opposed to the one or two that most restaurants seem to feel obliged to include on their menus. This restaurant is understated, and very reasonably priced making it a real neighborhood gem . Try the chicken enchilada appetizer and the lentil salad. Both were very nicely done!!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and serviceThis was my second dinner at Farmicia and I plan to go back as often as possible. The salads are big, enough to share with another person, and entrees are substantial. I had the lamb tenderloins and my husband had the London broil, both done to perfection. Scott, our server, was a delight!
We had a table at the front window, and our only disappointment was that the window was not open, though it had become a glorious day weather-wise.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a winnerYou can't go wrong at Farmicia. We both had the grilled
Chicken sandwich which was cooled perfectly with
Fresh veggies!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFARMiCiAWent for brunch with some friends. I picked it because my one friend is a vegan so it is hard go out to eat with him especially for brunch. We arrived 15 minutes early and the two friendly hostess sat us down immediately. The waitress was very nice and not pushy while we waited for our two friends. I had the eggs bendict with salmon which was Amazing. I feel bad for foregetting the waitress name. I love that she was not constantly hovering over us. We started to notice the other brunch servers were finishing our group realized we were holding her up. First time I have been to a restaurant the server did not just drop the check to annouce she was ready to go. Overall, great food, great service! Definitely would go back again!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMContinued Good ExperienceWe come often for brunch because it has one of the best (for us) brunch menus in the city. It's a lively place with good food and good service.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMworth a 2nd look if its been awhileWe probably had not dined here in at least six years, but friends said it had become a favorite--with a wide variety of options and the ability to BYOB without a corkage fee (although they had a very reasonable wine list and drink selections). They were right. It was great to bring a nice Malbec and not pay a fee. But the selections were very good. I particularly liked the salad choices, crabcake and calamari. The only thing that did not blow me away was the cheese plate--large and plentiful--but the selections were so-so...but I'm a snob about cheese plates so most probably would be pleased. We'll definitely be going back. And it is roomy, so you can book a large group without much trouble.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious, fresh foodI love the food at Farmicia. As someone who suffers from Crohn's, I sometimes have trouble finding things to eat on restaurant menus. This is never a problem at Farmicia. I find many options and know that the food is farm fresh and cleanly made.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMA bit pricey for lunch but great loThis is a great place for business meetings or if you are a tourist in the historic area. But with most sandwiches in the $12-$14 range it is a bit pricey. Service always great. Wish they'd offer burger on a crisper roll though. The brioche they use is mushy (as brioches are)5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and outstanding food.Brunch was delicious. The vegans, vegetarian and carnivore all left very satisfied.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAttentive, helpful, non-obtrusiveAttentive, helpful, non-obtrusive waiter. Most outstanding dishes were an egg-less Caesar (how did they find such tasty lettuce?), some very rare tuna, and a shortcake with strawberry sorbet. I also especially enjoyed one of their "tonics" (prosecco with rose essence); their BYOB policy (no corkage fee) was a bonus for us (although they also have a reasonable wine list). Hip shopping neighborhood (although not big on night life).5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen there three times andBeen there three times and each time thoroughly enjoyed it!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Brunch!Everything on the menu looked amazing! And everything we ordered was great, fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMYumGood for a light dinner or a multi-course meal. Excellent service at reception, waitstaff. Great food. Good choice for vegetarians, too.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMlively center city east restaurantWe've been here often, either before theater or a concert. Service is always excellent! Food too!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMNot DisappointedAfter reading several negative reviews abt. Farmicia... I was abit hesitant to try, esp. with a Customer who suffers with Food Allergies... but Staff was very attentive to their needs and everything worked out wonderfully... Portions were smaller than I expected, but overall quality and taste were excellent... I would repeat my visit...5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMcomfort zoneFarmicia was recommended to me by a friend. I was not disappointed. We had a party of three(friends from out of town). The menu was quite extensive and varied. We had no trouble in making decisions. The food was very tasty and well presented. The servers were friendly and courteous. I enjoyed the openness of the setting and we were able to have a leisure conversation with no sense of being rushed. I will be returning.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWould definitely go again!FARMiCiA is a great place that I happened upon by accident and i'm glad I did! Took some staff of mine here for lunch and the place is so nice and the servers very accomodating. LOVED that they offered varieties of bread to each diner, and the herbed butter was delicious. I just had a sandwich but I plan on ordering something more unique the next time I go. This is such a great place, especially for those interested in sticking with locally grown foods - whether you're a vegetarian or not!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Local FareWent for dinner with two colleagues. Terrific happy hour deals and great mixed drinks. The food was delicious: the calamari and crab cakes were out of this world. We all enjoyed our entrees and you'd never tell the brownie was gluten free if you didn't know...and it was big enough to share. Would definitely go back.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMToast rounds were broughtToast rounds were brought by our server to accompany the appetizers. However, we did not request them & were subsequently charged for them. Though it was a nominal fee it was still a fee we were surprised to see on our bill. Also, the bread tray was very nice but it would have been even nicer if the tray was brought around a second time. Other than those 2 minor flaws, we enjoyed our dinner at your restaurant. We were also impressed with your gluten free menu; my niece must eat gluten free & your menu offered many delicious choices for her.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful!I've been here on four occasions and each time it was fantastic! The pork chop and duck are both phenomenal!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways consistent for lunchA bit pricey compared to area places but still consistent. My only wish was a crispier roll for burger.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took a friend along forWe took a friend along for our second dinner at FARMiCiA. The server was well informed, prompt & helpful. The beet & fennel salad was flavorful, & the tuna portion was generous, although I'd have liked more veggies. We brought our wine, although I now see that their short wine list is well selected & wines by the glass are half price during Happy Hour (5-7pm).5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous healthy foodAn incredible dining experience. We loved the food especially with the care in providing healthy organic ingredients. And the service was GREAT!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a terrific Sunday brunch.Had a terrific Sunday brunch. Everything was delicious and fresh. Great food, good service, and...fantastic Bloody Mary!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, but limited selections.Good food, but limited selections. Spacious and not very loud. Have the choice of BYOB or bar which is a really nice feature.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was fresh, delicous andFood was fresh, delicous and cooked perfectly. The selection was diverse and had something for everyone. We left full, happy and looking forward to returning. The wait person, Lindsey was great and all of her recommendations were winners. I highly recommend this restaurant.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe vegtable plate was veryThe vegtable plate was very good and the corn husk wrap was ok. Overall a "B" The portion was good and price was also good "A". The variety of drinks was exceptional"A". Maybe if you could do a six drink sampler that would be good" A+++. It made our date special as the atmosphere was very nice but casual and elegant A-. We would return.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOur office has dined at FarmiciaOur office has dined at Farmicia for several special occasions. We always look forward to the great food and service!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE FARMIICIAi LOVE Farmicia!!! thier brunch happy hour is the best!!! i swear my eggs and sausage taste so much better here than at any other restaurant. a special place to catch up with friends.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFarmicia, great Sunday brunchWe were looking for a brunch location with interesting choices near the National Constitution Center. Farmicia was one of the only locations that would take a reservation on a Sunday. Thank goodness we called, it was busy. We were seated immediately and start to finish had a wonderful dining experience.
I HIGHLY recommend the goat cheese and herb omelet. Add on one slice of banana french toast too. DELICIOUS!
We'll be back for sure.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMParking right next to FarmaciaParking right next to Farmacia is a plus. Our friends were late and the staff did not rush us at all. The crab/pear salad was terrific. Best of all, although they have a bar,you can BYOB and there is no corkage fee. We will definitely return to Farmacia.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was wonderful, the entreesFood was wonderful, the entrees a bit dry, but still flavorful. The fresh bread they serve is great. I recommend trying them all. The drinks were tasty. We went during happy hour (5-7) so they were 50% off which was even better.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFor my money, Farmicia isFor my money, Farmicia is still the best BYOB in Philadelphia. The menu is varied and unique and every dish is delicious. The staff is attentive and friendily. One wishes it were a bigger place, but it is larger than most BYOBs in the city. It is one of my favorite restaurants in the Delaware Valley!!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMI'll have to thank my nephewI'll have to thank my nephew for recommending Farmicia; my husband and I loved dining there! The service was excellent; attentive but not bothersome or in-your-face. It was hard to decide which of the items to order because they all sounded so great. My husband had the tenderloin of lamb and I had the duck (boneless). I think I should have ordered the duck medium instead of well done, and will the next time. My husband's lamb tenderloin was wonderful. We look forward to the next time we go to center city so that we can dine at Farmicia again.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSaturday BrunchI arrived for brunch on a Saturday afternoon about 1:30, we had reservations , we were seated immediately. Our glasses were filled with water. The waiter stop buy for our beverage order. My friend asked for hot tea. I was fine with water. I had the Lancaster BlT it was just okay. My friend had the Turkey club with avocado , it was very good. The service was outstanding .4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNicoleHands down this is one of my favorite spots in Philadelphia. I have never had a bad meal or a bad drink. The food is always fresh. The Lancaster BLT and the grilled goat cheese sandwhich are both delectible. If I could fit eating both, I would. And if you have never had a Pimms cup, this is the place to try it. The service is always right on, and I have never feeled ignored. This is a gleaming nugget in Old City and I highly reccomend stopping in.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMCome for the CocktailsThe food at FarmaCia is definitely fresh and well-cooked, although not very imaginative. If you like good, simple food, this is definitely your place--chops, steaks, fish, etc. Where this place shines is the cocktail menu--I wanted one of every cocktail on the list. My friends from out of town loved it. Would I take a real gourmand here? Probably not. But we definitely had a good time. The service was excellent, the atmosphere lively and the ambiance was great. Excellent place for before or after the theater.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful "Old City" gem servingWonderful "Old City" gem serving a great eclectic menu (including vegan) in a friendly atmosphere.
We'll definitely be back.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMNot our first time becauseNot our first time because it's our favorite place!
Best in the city for pleasing both vegan and foodie and combination of the two.
Highly recommended....3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for BrunchWe had Eastern Brunch at Farmicia. The beverages where really good, specially their Red Sangria, great presentation and flavor. The service was very promptly and the food tasted "natural". I enjoyed the atmosphere, which it was vibrant, but not annoying. Liked it!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMI'm a vegetarian and my husbandI'm a vegetarian and my husband is not. We were both able to find things on the menu that were appealing. The food tasted fresh, we were surprised at their tonics list and indulged in a few drinks as well. Service was great, the hosts could be a little more welcoming. Would love to go their seasonally.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMChose the restaurant for pre-theateChose the restaurant for pre-theater which worked out perfectly. Arrived in time to take advantage of happy hour drink special. The pear and crab salad was delicious. The crab cake appetizer was also very good. Even had time for dessert - and so glad we did - because the blood orange sorbet was delicious and refreshing. Our waiter was very attentive and we got our check quickly and off to the theater we went. Perfect timing. Definitely will return!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMOn Sunday, our first dinnerOn Sunday, our first dinner at FARMiCiA was delightful. French lentil salad with greens & baked goat cheese was flavorful & large enough for a lunch. The duck breast & London broil were very good. Wine list is small & reasonable, but we did BYOB with no corkage fee. Notable were several vegan options, which will interest a friend of ours. We'll be back.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMThe cheese platter was perfect,The cheese platter was perfect, four choices and a delecious chutney. Chicken was great, with kale and butternut squash. A wonderful combintation.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall, appetizers and dessertOverall, appetizers and dessert were excellent. Most of my party's entrees were good as well; I was a bit disappointed in the duck breast I ordered and would order differently next time. We brought wine but next time I'm looking forward to trying something off their cocktail list.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AM
