Best part was the outside seating, Food was barely ok. Charcuterie was a big disappointment; one slice of salami, ONE cheese and a few slices of cured pork. It looked pretty and had lots of jelly and jam and garnish, but very little else.

This was my first time at Farmhouse Tavern and I was pleased with the attention, excellent food and wine, and quaint environment. I especially like that the food is sourced from local growers, farmers--you really can taste the difference. I certainly will eat there again and recommend it to friends.

Came here for a birthday dinner as it was highly recommended by a few sources. The service was definately just ok, while the server came by very early to take drink orders we had literally just sat down. Sayibng we needed a few minutes it took about ten for her to return. We ordered the vegetable of the day (swiss chard) and they brought roast carrots to the table without mentioning it in advance. we ordered nuts and jerky appetizer and was informed they did not have it about 15 minutes later. My burger was terrific, perfectly cooked but i could have done without the raw onions (there was no question of what i wanted on it beyond the upsell options. My fries were not hot. the beer selection was terrific

Stopped in for a quick dinner earlier this week. Sat at the bar and started with a beer from their huge selection of Midwest brews. I ordered their fried cheese curds as an appetizer and they were delicious - served with ketchup and an aioli sauce. My main entree was the grilled trout - beautiful presentation and delicious. Service was friendly. The place was packed for a Monday night.

While the atmosphere was great, and unique.. the food was underwhelming. not a lot of spice, (basic salt and pepper). All the food is local fare, which could be great.. but again a lot of the flavor was missing. We ordered the cheese curds, burger , salad and side of baked mac/cheese. my husband got the shrimp dish- it came out raw, and then the manager came over to let us know we were in the wrong, and that- that is how the shrimp is to be cooked. the second dish came back- fully cooked. not the best service, or food.. but the decor is amazing!

I really like this restaurant and have been there three times. I went when it first opened and then again recently. The food is always excellent and a great place to go when visiting the midwest for staple midwest food and drink. Also the wait staff is very nice. I am giving the restaurant 3 stars though because it took a long time to get our drinks when it wasn't very busy. Also, our food came out as we were ordering wine for dinner. It seemed a little unorganized. We were obviously looking to enjoy our meal and it felt rushed. They also sat us at a table that wasn't ready (and way to close to the tables next to us).

Was very excited for farmhouse, but ended up incredibly disappointed in the food. We had the farmhouse salad -- it tasted like leaves with salt water. We also had the trout, which was bland, and the fish and chips. The fried fish was soggy and the ketchup tasted like BBQ sauce (but not in a good way). Even if it weren't pricey, I would been underwhelmed by the food but a $100 dinner for two should be more delicious. One caveat -- the more traditional meat dishes may be better thought out than the fish options.

The server, as well as all other staff members, were very knowledgeable about the menu items and great at describing them. The food was excellent! The restaurant is smaller than I had anticipated, which lent a cozy, more homey vibe to the restaurant. Some of the tables are a bit closer to each other than is standard so if you're not comfortable with that, I would recommend taking your order to go (food is worth it!). Server was a bit slow, but could easily have been an off day.

Food was fantastic! I recommend the cheese curds, bone-in pork chop and fish and chips. All were delicious!!!! Service was ok. Not sure if it's their "gig" or not, but our waiter didn't seem very happy to be there or take care of us. We were a group of 7 so maybe they just like smaller tables. I'm not sure I'd go back for this reason, but the food might entice me, it was really good, it's what prompted me to give it a four star rating.

The wait person seemed very inexperienced. The pacing was poor and he came off as condescending. Somehow he seemed to think that because we had never been to this restaurant, we didn't know what organic or locally sourced food was. He wasn't familiar with several of the items on the menu. He seemed much more concerned with turning over our table than with providing us with good or even useful service. The food was very good, but not earth shattering. The whole experience was a bit annoying and pretentious. They are not good enough to have earned that kind of attitude.

We went there for an early dinner - 6PM. I made the reservation for 3 people, but we had four. They said they could accommodate us, but it would have to be at a communal table. It was totally fine and there was still space between us and the other group, but it was a bit odd as all of the other tables around us were empty for the entire time we were there. It wasn't an issue, but it was a bit strange. Food and service was great.
