Dinner menu was a bit limited; but the food we got was very good. Get the meringue for dessert! Delicious. Would like to go back and try Lunch or Brunch there. Good selection of local midwest beers and really nailing the local/farm to mouth concept. Not a fan of communal seating since we were only two; but did end up at a two top high table by bar which was really nice. For a group or office outing, the larger communal table would be a great way to go.

I went here with my son, a bit fearful that it might be more of a "couples" romantic type scene. We were placed in the back of the second floor at the beginning of the dining session on a Friday night which raised my eyebrows a bit, but the place soon filled up with people all around us. We did not feel uncomfortable at all. Our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful with the options available to us including the various food items as well as the large selection of local brews. We selected the pork and lamb, both of which were awesome. The salad we chose was a seasonal cold crop (kale, etc.) that seemed like it could be heavy and course, but was pulled together with an amazing bacon unlike any one would find in an ordinary market. My son and I ended up gobbling it up with none left over much to my amazement (portion was generous). The pork had a complexity to it presumably due to marination or some coating that made it a wonderful taste experience. The lamb was also very good. The restaurant prides itself in "local" foods and seems to meet up to these expectations, being both local and trendy in their offerings. A bit on the pricey side, but understood given that the food sources, including the meats, are not from mass produced sources but rather supporting local farming. Would definitely go back again.

Friendly atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The Mac and Cheese is worth the trip - for a side the order for 2 could definitely feed 3-4. While the chopped salad was delicious, it should be listed as a side salad not an entree.

I arrived at Farmhouse for Brunch for the first time last Sunday. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was super friendly. Right away there was a table ready for our reservation. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable. We got a few brunch mimosas made with a brut rose that were quite delightful, although the cheese curds stole the show. I was amazed at how light they were and cooked to perfection. This was a wonderful experience and I will definitely be a return guest.

Farmhouse has an extensive beer list as well as local liquors. The food is definitely indulgent but a bit 1 dimensional. The highlight was the cauliflower appetizer that had a mix of fresh and fried ingredients. The cheese curds were good and the ranch dipping sauce fantastic. The mac and cheese was a big letdown and the veggie burger was good. Best if you desire drinks first and foremost and also want some food.

Have been to Farmhouse in Evanston a number of times and it has always been very good. First time trying the one in Chicago. For whatever reason, chicken sounded good to me. I have to say that the brick chicken was one of the best tasting things I've ever eaten. Not just best tasting chicken! My friend had chops and said they were terrific. Great and eclectic selection of whiskeys too. Service was very very good. Highly recommended.

amazing food and a beautiful little gem. we had the cheese curds (unlike any other cheese curd ive ever had) and they were amazing. I then had the chicken for my entree which was perfect. the apple and squash stuffing that came with it was perfection. my friend had the trout which was equally as good. it was served with some roasted veggies that were amazing. will definitely be back soon.

We were first to arrive on a Monday. We wanted their famous brunch but during the week it's the lunch menu. It was quiet but the staff were ready to go. The place is eclectic and warm almost like a hipster cottage. The service was prompt and immediately we got our drinks. Mine was the Bloody Mary with beer side chaser. It was without a doubt both delicious and very spicy. We had the ham and Swiss on rye and the pork belly sandwiches. They were both exquisite. You know what Farmhouse? Were coming back!!!

we went for brunch on Sunday afternoon. It was crowded, but not slammed. We had a party of five. Four people's drinks came out and then it took at least another 5 minutes for the last person. Two people in our group ordered medium burgers. One came out medium the other came out closer to rare. The bun was sopping in blood. No one came over to check. I had to chase down our server. They reheated the burger. Normally you would expect the server to stay and ensure the burger was now to the customers satisfaction. They just dropped it off. No apology or anything. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Also, it took well over an hour for us to get our food initially. Very disappointed.

I came here for a special occasion and I'm glad I did. The food was fantastic! Like home cooking, but with a creative modern twist and more flavor. The local beer list was also impressive. We had the Amish Chicken, the Pork Loin, and the Gnudi. And I would get any of them again except for the fact that I want to try all the items on the menu. Thanks for a great dinner!

We have dined at Farmhouse numerous times (we live out of state but are in Chi every couple of months) since we found it a few years ago. Upon our most recent visit we noted a smaller crowd than we had previously found. We had no problem getting reservations at last minute, unlike our other favorites. They still have very good food, great beer list, over priced and small wine list, but biggest change...their prices appear to have increased quite a bit. Think this is why crowds are down?" Not sure!,,,,We will continue to dine there but wish they would allow byob

Small but very attractive restaurant. Beer and wine were great. Started with fried cheese curds, which we could have made a meal of. My wife and daughter did not like their shave sprouts salad -- too bland. My wife's fish was underdone. My daughter did not really like her veggie burger. On the other hand, I thought that my fish and chips were excellent. Great place for a drink and snack at the bar. Be a little more careful with table service.

Leave the pretentiousness at home and go for the food and wonderful staff. A must add to your bucket list.

The staff there is very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu choices . The large drink list is a and few pages and held together on custom clipboards. . The decor is rustic and made from repurposed materials I had a great time with my wife and I look forward going back soon.

The food is stellar - everything we ordered (pork chop, cheese curds (!!!), the brussels kale salad and the chicken) was delicious, including the craft cocktails. It was reasonably priced, cooked well - nothing over or under done - and the atmosphere made it a highly enjoyable experience. I went here for a ladies night out, but recognize it could be a great spot for a date night, business dinner or reunion with an old friend.

Looking for a post marathon meal, we found this place on opentable. We love the farm to table concept and were happy to see that there was a restaurant in Chicago advertising this. While they didn't have a kids meal, the kids did well sharing the mac-n-cheese. The burgers were great and went well with their craft beer selection. We also went with a side of brussel sprouts. We would return!

Came on a Tues. evening, first time visit, loved the look of the place. Hostess and waiter (Sam), accessible and friendly, and knowledgable. Cocktail/beer/wine list interesting and unusual (and delicious). Loved the locally sourced ingredients, humanely raised animals focus. While ingredients were fresh and well prepared, I didn't find the food rose to the level of excellent. Everything was good, but I was hoping for great. The biggest problem I had with Farmhouse was the noise level. Very challenging to have a conversation, which, in my opinion, is a significant aspect of the dining out experience. Would probably try out again, because I liked the vibe of the place and the political consciousness of their vender choices.

Came here for a birthday dinner as it was highly recommended by a few sources. The service was definately just ok, while the server came by very early to take drink orders we had literally just sat down. Sayibng we needed a few minutes it took about ten for her to return. We ordered the vegetable of the day (swiss chard) and they brought roast carrots to the table without mentioning it in advance. we ordered nuts and jerky appetizer and was informed they did not have it about 15 minutes later. My burger was terrific, perfectly cooked but i could have done without the raw onions (there was no question of what i wanted on it beyond the upsell options. My fries were not hot. the beer selection was terrific
