Went to Farmers Fishers Bakers for dinner on a Sunday evening (day before Labor Day). The food was very good -- salmon on a plank, seafood jambalaya, and crab louie salad as entrees and Boston cream pie and banana split for dessert. Were seated by a window with lovely view of the Georgetown waterfront. However, the noise level was very high making it difficult to converse.

  • Skip the brunch

I have had dinner here on multiple occasions and have always been satisfied but my brunch experience was anything but. We had reservations but still had to wait nearly 25 min. The place was a zoo and there was little organization to it. My partner was on crutches and still they seated us at the complete opposite end of the restaurant from the brunch set up. I spent most of the time waiting on her. The lines at the stations were long too. Our waiter was completely inattentive to us, none of the plates that are supposed to come around to the tables ever made it to us, and we had to ask to get biscuits when they were supposed to be complimentary for the table. The food was so so that I did eat. Very disappointing.

This was my sixth time for brunch at FFB, and it never fails to satisfy. My sisters and I love brunch here because the food is fantastic; the service is very courteous and attentive; and they don't rush us out after the 2 hour laugh fest the four of us usually engage in after the giant Pimms Cup and perpetual flow of mimosas! FFB has become my Georgetown favorite.

The food here is always amazing and the service is great. the wait--even with a reservation--can be rough. There isn't really a great spot to wait either. This time my group sat at a table near the entrance and there were times when it felt like the groups waiting for tables were preying on our space. The bar is always crowded too and not worth the struggle to start with a drink. I wonder if it's intentional to keep the patrons standing around waiting for a table?

We had another great experience at Farmers Fishers Bakers in Georgetown. It is reasonably priced for Georgetown dining and the wood is great. Our sever upset me a little bit because he asked everyone else at my table as to whether they wanted another drink, but did not stop to ask me. But other than that, the experience was well worth it and I highly recommend this restaurant for a night out with family or friends.

Nice atmosphere on the harbor, although it is set back so you are not directly overlooking the water, but rather the fountains in the center. Menu has something for everyone. We all enjoyed our meals. Fried shrimp was huge and juicy, lemonade fried fish also. The marinated skirt steak was a tiny bit chewy, but had a great flavor. Especially loved their side dishes - the street corn off the cob, the corn pudding tamale and the vegetable succotash were all delicious. The hostess was friendly and efficient and the service was great. We were able to get a table outside in a timely manner, even though you can't reserve outdoors. There was a band playing for Harbor Nights, so it made for a really great evening.

This restaurant has everything going for it - a beautiful setting, nice interior, very pleasant and hard-working staff, and lots of energy. The food, however, was so bad we will never go back. The salad greens were - - - mushy, indistinguishable from one another and totally dead. One of us ordered the crab salad - and while the crab was OK, the salad underneath brought it down to something I wouldn't feed animals. It was terrible. Chicken dishes were as well - the chicken was OK but the items the various dishes came with were terrible. We saw lots of other people eating pizza - perhaps that would have been safer.

This is a brunch review only! Their brunch is a mix of passed options and "stations" that includes coffee and non-boozey drinks. They pass eggs benedict, california rolls, pizza, etc. The stations are different types of scrambled eggs and a carving station with slabs of BACON, build-your-own tacos w/ freshly made guacomole, to-die-for honey fried chicken, grilled veggies & salads w/ melt in your mouth sugarglazed half-grapefruits and small bites for dessert. I recommend making reso's on the earlier side, I've been on the tail end before and it's a sad sight. Great view of the G-town waterfront, good vibe, cool decor, healthy + indulgent options, attentive service, all-in-all a cool hipster brunch scene ;)

Beautiful day for outdoor brunch. Be advised you are not on the water, you are outside looking at a fountain. You cannot see the river. The reviews were correct. The service is spotty at best. They give you a whole spiel about circulating food and you can order from your waiter - none of which is true. They bring around tons of pizza and you have to beg for eggs benedict, which never arrived. We were dining with a vegan and it was very difficult for her since none of the food is labeled. You have to guess what it is and then guess what they put in it.

FFB is a stylish place with eager and enthusiastic servers and it's open until midnight on the weekends which makes it a perfect stop after a movie in Georgetown. The menu is almost overwhelming -- sushi, pizza, burgers, fried chicken. Everything we tried was good, if not particularly memorable. But the prices are reasonable, you can get a beer and shot for $12, and let's face it, Georgetown is not awash in great dining options, especially at 10 p.m. We'll be back.

Ok so I am a 11 yr old kid. I had the chicken jambalya and guacamole and chips to start. Both dishes were amazing the only thing I would comment on is just to put a little pool of chicken broth on the bottom of plate and that will make it even better. I had the bengeis and the ice cream sandwiches for dessert, they were great! I would recommend this place!

We went for drinks and appetizers and had a great time. They have a great selection of beers on tap, and our server was sweet to offer us a sample of any beers we wanted to try. My favorite appetizer was the soft pretzels with dips, but the crab dip was also very good. We probably wouldn't order the guacamole again, though, since it was just ok and quite pricey ($12). Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot. They have a diverse range of options on their menu and the service is excellent.

This was my second visit and second service disaster. Ordered a shared appetizer, waited awhile and ordered entrees. Finally the appetizer came and two bites into it, they arrived with our entrees! We sent them back, knowing they would sit under the heat lamps so I said the fried scallops would be inedible sitting all that time so the waitress promised fresh. Finished the appetizer and the entrees came back (mine had salad on the plate, which was now warm and wilted) and the scallops came back ice cold! Sent them back so one of us watched the others eat for 10 mins, the manager came, still no scallops! (ps when they arrived they were not very good). Ordered decaf...it was clearly instant! Sent it back.

Great find! Interesting, fresh menu. Although we had to wait almost 15 minutes for our reserved table, we were given an adorable booth in an alvoce - perfect for our family group celebrating the start of college. Service was superb - (and we had a water person, a great waitress, folks who checked our drink levels and another server who just stopped to check on us) friendly knowledgeable and engaging. Pretzel appetizer a ten; tableside guacamole yummy but not as much as we would have expected. Rockfish was the catch of the day and could not have been better! Brussels sprout salad a disappointment - shaved frizled slivers of perhaps half of one brussels sprout. Overall, we give this exciting vibrant eclectic & fun place a 9.5!!

went for dinner. started off with some spicy tuna and crab rolls, to die for. had a great view of the fountain lighting up - beautiful. got an beer recommendation from the waiter (flying dog agave over flying dog 'the truth'), it was ok, a relaxed ale. had a crabcake sandwich for the main, light, savory, lots of crab, not overly seasoned, on a challah bun. came with ok fries and an amazing cocktail sauce gastrique. had chai tea for dessert, came in a small pot, included 3 decent sized mugs worth of tea, very nice way to end the dinner. waiter was kind and not overly attentive, just caring enough.
