Farmers Fishers BakersMy family and I went for theirMy family and I went for their Sunday brunch, and we couldn't get enough. With a seat outside overlooking the Potomac River and its park, Farmers Fishers Bakers is a great spot to sit all day with your family or friends and enjoy an exquisite view and fantastic cuisine.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunchGood food and excellent service. Avoid sitting under the tiled ceiling area that has a few booths unless you want to hear very clearly the idiotic conversations of the 22 year olds who frequent the place, not because they can afford it, but because they are ok with credit card debt.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMde-lovely, deliciousFarmers Fishers Bakers is always amazing and is suitable to show off to your foodie friends from the food meccas of NYC or San Fran! Wonderful service and lovely presentation. It's delightful for brunch, lunch or dinner and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGraduation DinnerHi, I took a party of 10 to FFB on a Sunday early evening. We arrived somewhat late following graduation and still waited quite a while for a table although there were plenty of open tables. However, our server was excellent - knew all the dishes (a feat), made great suggestions and was unfazed by our large group. Food doesn't come up too quickly and several items were not available - again surprizing given that we arrived at 6PM. But food was worth the wait. Tasty, cooked very well, some interesting combinations that livened up things that sounded dull (like my cole slaw and corn off the cob). The home-made ginger ale is terrific and very refreshing in summer. Happy to go back and look forward to dining outside on the terrace.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMloved it!!We lived in DC years ago and were stuck going to our usual jaunts. Finding Farmers Fishers Bakers was a windfall! We loved everything about it: the menu, the ambiance, the decor, the food, the creativity, the freshness and the attentiveness of every waitperson/ staff that walked by our table (and we had three kids with us!!) We loved our food but couldn't help but gawk at every plate that passed us and peer onto everyone else's table!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMMade another reserv before we leftWe enjoyed everything about our experience at Farmers...great menu choices, great drink choices, lovely view of Potomac, outdoor seating. The only trick--make your reservations early!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious BrunchBrunch was delicious. Really appreciated the buffet and "passed" options for food. All the food was delicious, particularly the desserts!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat brunch!Brunch after 10K race was fabulous! Everyone had a great time and food was delicious.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMOut of towners loved itFirst took a boat tour out of the harbour and then off to FFB. Most of the guests were from out of town and they loved it. This was our third visit and it doesn't disappoint. Our large group was on a time restraint and our waitress bent over backwards to get us out the door on time. Thank you6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and vibrantVery much enjoyed the outstanding food and good service.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMHectic overall but great foodWe'd heard of farmers fishers and bakers through living in dc and reading up on the foodie scene. The food was amazing, I had the fish fry combo platter and my boyfriend the shrimp scampi. It was delicious but sadly they'd been out of scallops so my plate was great but not outstanding. On the downside, it got so loud towards the end of dinner I couldn't even have a conversation. Maybe turn the music down so people don't have to scream to be heard? One last downside... Drink service was so slow. It took 15 minutes to get a beer and maybe 20 for a cocktail.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat serviceI had an excellent time at my lad visit. Service great as well as food. Felt like the table was ours all night. Never rushed.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, good (but slow) serviceFood was great. Server was friendly and knowledgeable. She was working hard and fast, but might have had too many tables, as we waited for a while to get our check.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb EVERYTHINGWent to brunch this afternoon and all I can say is WOW. Everything from the make your own tacos to the coffee was delicious. I plan to visit again6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMCasual fun spotGreat place for a casual dinner. Lots of energy but not over the top. Staff and management very attentive. We loved it and will certainly come back when in the Georgetown area. Only negative...they don't have a location in our area!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was amazing. BeautifulThis was amazing. Beautiful brunch buffet. The presentation was excellent. Service was wonderful. Will be back soon!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Birthday DinnerEverything was great (food, ambiance, crowd) except the service was verrrry slow. We were there for almost 3 hours including desser and we didn't even go during peak hours (9pm reservation). Will definitely return though. Menu is large and has something for everyone.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall a great experience,Overall a great experience, but the service was just average. Our waitress advised that there would be servers passing out various additional brunch items throughout our dining experience, however the same two servers kept coming up to our table. It seemed like even though the brunch lasts until 3pm the servers stopped walking almost an hour beforehand. Additionally, they were slow to take our empty plates.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Brunch!!A friend and I went last minute to the brunch and it was absolutely delicious!! Amazing buffet and cinnamon buns. A tad pricey, plus drinks were very pricey, but otherwise amazing!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing food and ambienceExcellent buffet brunch in terms of taste, quality and service. Great for families and friends visiting from out of town, and for special occasions. Great view of the waterfront scene. Getting reservations a few days ahead of time is highly recommended!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodie's findThe food was FANTASTIC at Farmers Fishers Bakers. I would go back just to taste the soft pretzels that they serve in lieu of bread basket. can't wait to go back!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMenjoyable lunchwe thought an after graduation lunch at the georgetown waterfront with our teenage boys might be a good idea. it was. the calamari and wings disappeared quickly. my wife and I had salads that were unique and very tasty. the boys devoured their pizzas.
parking was easy and the service was very good. my wife and i will return for dinner soon.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMInfant crawling on the floorInfant crawling on the floor took something away from the experience
It is not a nursery5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food, slow serviceThe food was really delicious and well worth the wait. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive with one wrong it took another 15 minutes to get the right drink.Waitress nice and very knowledgable of the menu.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGood scene, Good foodThe food was solid and the scene was good. We had to wait about 20 mins past our reservation time for a table and they were out of several things on the menu, but overall a good experience.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAn Unforgettable Brunch! For a party of 5 world travelled foodies, our dining experience conversations are typically interesting to say the least. We unanimously agreed that THIS brunch is a winner! The food was divine, staff was gracious, beautiful decor...an A+! We will most certainly return!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic brunch on the waterfrontI went to Farmers Fishers Bakers for their all-you-can-eat brunch buffet for the second time this past weekend and it was an even better experience than the first time! They offer almost any type of brunch/lunch food you can think of--omelet station, French toast, ham, tri-tip, fresh guacamole, fried chicken, salads, fruit, desserts, sushi--and all of it is absolutely amazing. The staff is incredibly attentive and they rarely let dishes get empty before fresh food is brought out. Our server was wonderful and, after missing the table-side sushi service on a couple of rounds, we returned to our table to find two plates of sushi waiting for us. I'll definitely be coming back for brunch on the outdoor patio right on the Georgetown waterfront!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Food and Many VegetarianWe visited this restaurant for the first time on Memorial Day weekend. We did make reservations and we sat outside. I am a vegetarian, so it can be a challenge to find meals that are meat free and interesting/well prepared. The menu had several well marked interesting veggie meals. I had the Mushroom Reuben and it was delicious! My husband had sliced rib-eye and was very pleased with his meal. I love that the meat that they do have is free range. Quality food, prepared perfectly and great wait service. It is right in the harbor, so the view is interesting and relaxing. We will enjoy this restaurant again, and recommend it to our friends. It is a short walk to the Kennedy Center, so it is great for a before performance dinner.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMamazing weekend brunchBe sure to bring your appetite for the all you can eat weekend brunch. The food is phenomenal and endless.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMfun yummy brunchWe most recently went for brunch on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. The brunch has an excellent variety of foods from the more traditional French Toast to eggs. Other items include excellent beef, honey fried chicken numerous salads and other dishes. Wait staff circulates other "non-brunch" items including eggs Benedict, sushi and pizza. Also passed around are the "to die for" rum buns. Also try their biscuits with honey. The honey is outrageous. Great deserts. enjoy.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMPre-Theater TouristWe were visisitng DC from out of town and ate dinner here before going to the Kennedy Center for a show. They had our table ready for us very quickly and it was booth just like we had requested. Our waiter was also a bar tender and recommended excellent drinks for each of us based on our tastes. We ordered an appetizer (hot crab dip) that came out with really yummy bread. The food was excellent. It got a little noisy as the night progressed becuase the bar got more buys as people showed up after work. The view was amazing and we had a great time!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Atmosphere, Great ServiceNot only do the bartenders create custom drinks, they knew their beers and chose a great brew for me. When we sat down for dinner, the server was overly knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu and very attentive. Actually, all of the staff were very attentive. When it came time to pay, another server took care of it to the surprise of our server, who was pleased with the teamwork. Overall, a great place to dine. Not to mention affordable for those watching there wallet's figure.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMImpressedWe had a party with two young children and they sat us in a self enclosed off to the side of the entry. It was a great table because we were separate from the restaurant and the kids had space to run around, but I think service was also slow because of it. The food for the kids came out relatively quickly, but then the entrees took a while. Otherwise, the food was great. Lots of selection and very tasty.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMToo many great choices! We really enjoyed my daughter's 21st birthday celebration luncheon. The drink and food choices were so numerous and creative that is was a real challenge to actually make a decision on anything. We did a lot of sharing! Great time.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great, the serviceThe food was great, the service was on target. Our server was extremely attentive.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst TimerThis was my first time here after recently moving to DC from California. I will definitely come again!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food- as usualFarmers Fishers and Bakers was delicious as usual! We had a wonderful meal. I would highly recommend the Bread and brtoh for an appetizer--the garlic broth was amazing!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHad A Great ExperienceWonderful and unique menu. Pineapple soda was very refreshing. Mussels in our mussel pot were tender, tasty and clean. Would have like more of that wonderful red sauce. Odd to pay for additional bread, but the bread was delicious. Our server was willing to do just about anything for us. There are so many more dishes I'd like to try......I'll be back!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNice locale good foodGood reasonably priced fare. As good as their sister restaurant in Foggy Bottom - Founding Farmers. The ambiance of the Potomac River and dancing waters fountain were great. Original yummy dishes. A definite winner.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and lots of options.Delicious and lots of options. Incredble desserts need to share them.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest brunch in townI had been there before for dinner, but the brunch was wonderful. It's a delicious menu based on seasonal foods with plenty of healthy choices for everyone. Breakfast jambalaya, bruleed grapefruit, kale salad, grilled spring veggies with cheese spreads, varietal bacons carving station, breakfast pastries and the best banana pudding I've ever had just to name a few. They also bring chef's specials around to the table dim sum style. Perfectly cooked eggs florentine or Benedict, sushi, cinnamon roles.
It fosters a divide, share and taste/conquer approach and it made the whole meal a great experience.
Highly recommend.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOn the expensive side forOn the expensive side for brunch but the food was excellent ....5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch worth waiting forThis brunch is out of this world good. I have been several times and always have a variety of healthy and not so healthy choices. They come around to your table with samples of their sushi, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, pizza, shrimp, ... The list goes on! An enjoyable and relaxed brunch where they will not rush you through.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food, expansive menuWhile everything on the menu is probably good, FFB just has such an expansive menu that it is impossible to know what are their true specialties. We went with mostly meat and fish entrees, which are a bit on the pricey side, but pretty reasonable. The wine list is very reasonable and includes some great French wine. Overall, very good experience.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and a waterfront?? YES!FFB is a fantastic place. Every time I go there the drinks are consistently good, the food has been great and the view is the obvious reason you go down to the Georgetown Harbor. I do think the fried platters are a bit heavy on the breading, but that's a personal preference. Service has been spot on with me. I would definitely go back with friends, it's a pretty safe bet you'll all have a great time.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMDecentI went here for a late dinner with my family. We were seated next to a very obnoxious table but the staff was very helpful in finding us a new table. The food was all good. Nothing exceptional that I tried. However, we also got beignets to share for the table. They were excellent! I might try this restaurant again, but I would get something different off of the menu.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat little gem of a place!Great little gem of a place! We started with appettizers and were more than full with just the start of this meal. plentiful chicken wings fried in duck fat and drizzled with a spicy ,not to sweet thai sauce. They just nailed that one.Followed it with the bread and dipping sauces.OMG! they brought a pile of long freshly grilled bread with a small iron skillet full of whole fried garlic and two succulent dippng sauces.I thought I was eating the food of the gods.We followed all of this 2 great entres and couldn't finish.I know other reviewers thought service was slow but we were theater bound to see Showboat and easily had time to walk to the Kennedy Center. Our waiter was personable and quick to fufill any desire.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGood foodI'm a fan of this and Founding Farmers. Good food, not too large or overpriced. My only complaint is that twice now, we show up before our reservation and people walk in without reservations and are seated before us. This makes little sense to me.. and the servers are a bit snooty when you ask about it. If it keeps happening, it's enough for me to not want to go back despite the food.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFun, fresh, and innovative!I went here for a friend's birthday dinner and loved it!! Amazingly fresh ingredients in classic dishes with a twist. I had the ahi poke salad which was to die for. Prices were very fitting. I'll certainly be coming back!!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent servicedavone was my server and he was the best he was courteous and efficient and kept my experience one to remember5/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
