  • not seating a partial party

Only complaint was that they would not seat us until the other couple that was joining us arrived. We didn't want to hang in the bar area and since we had a reservation (made weeks before) we thought we'd be seated when we arrived. We were hungry and thirsty and ready to have cocktails and a few appetizers while we waited for our friends, but we were told we couldn't be seated until our entire party was there. It just didn't make sense that they would hold our empty table instead of seat us and let us start spending money while we waited....I expect that kind of thing at a lower rate place but not here.

Our server barely came over to our table and for only ordering dinner we were there for two hours. He was confused on the menu and only came over to give us our food then the check. The meal wasn't that good either and I couldn't even tell our waiter because he was never around. There were too many people and a family that was just standing around our table because they had no where to sit yet still was able to order food. It made my table uncomfortable because they were literally at the edge of our table. Would not recemmond after my experience here the other night.

The service was a little slow but the food made up for it. I loved the many different vege dishes and the guacamole was outstanding (I am a guacamole lover so I can tell!) The cinnamon buns and biscuits were soft and dangerously delish. Don't eat too much of them because they can fill you up. Didn't get to try everything like the eggs Benedict, pizza, desserts so I have to come back!

I went with a group of 6 including my parents and three friends for an early birthday celebration dinner. The food was amazing and there was such a variety to choose from. The waitress was helpful and knowledgeable. The only negative was we had to wait 10-15 minutes for our table and I had a reservation. Also- it was incredibly loud, so unfortunately we had to nearly yell to talk at our table. I have been to FFB a handful of times for brunch and I don't recall the noise level being that way. The music was just a bit loud and there was a very large group of girls clearly celebrating a birthday as well next to us that may have accounted for the noise level... Otherwise it was a great experience and I would recommend this place to any of my friends.

Went here for my birthday and had a very nice meal, though there is definitely room for improvement. Our waiter seemed to forget about us multiple times and forgot my drink order. Also, the trumpet mushroom scallops were somewhat bland, though the risotto it came with was amazing and the big eye tuna was delicious. Finally, I was a bit disappointed that the restaurant didn't do anything for my birthday - I saw that the hostess put down a marker on the table to tell the waiter it was my birthday so I kind of expected a dessert or a song or something - not a big deal, but lacked a bit of that birthday celebration feeling. I'd still come here again though.

Very nice space. Brunch items looked very good. Nice selection. Problem is they don't really have the facilities to keep the food warm. Most things were barely warm at best. Passed items (fried shrimp and eggs benedict) were good and much warmer. Would go back just for the cinnamon rolls and biscuits they bring to the table. Service was a little sparse but she was very nice - maybe they were a little understaffed that day. We will return for a normal meal but probably not brunch.

Lovely location in Washington Harbor. Huge dining room and menu catering to a broad group and certainly tourists, all of which is overwhelming and not conducive to the type of dining experience we generally prefer. However, it is a destination spot and not bad if you mind what it is. Been there for brunch and lunch/dinner.

Only issue, which I've noted to the management team already, is that for whatever reason when ordering a coke the glass with ice comes out before the actual soda can (sometimes for several minutes). So naturally you often need to have the server bring a new glass of ice when s/he has the coke can since the ice has partially melted and no-one wants a diluted coke. Very strange. It's a small thing but otherwise all else provides an excellent meal experience.

I really want to like FFB - and I feel the secret is likely just to stick to a seat at the bar, which is often what I do and find it a completely different restaurant experience. I had lunch the other day and the service was terrible, all the food coming to the table at different times, so my guest had an appetizer 10 minutes before mine came to the table, and both arrived long before our drinks came. For the entrees, the server brought chicken when I ordered Tuna and didn't check back at the table for ages. I expect a more professional level of service, and while mistakes can happen be prepared to consider that decent food may not make up for the poor service in the end.

I've been here a few times - good food, consistently pleasant servers, great ambiance. But the last couple of times the service by the hostess has been terrible - pretty unhelpful, not very friendly. Basically, they seem really stressed out and therefore almost indifferent. That kept me away for a while and I have to admit despite the good food and service once seated, knowing I will deal with someone who isn't that friendly to me while I wait for a table will probably keep me away again and is why I wouldn't recommend the place to a friend. You can get good food elsewhere with a better welcome.

When we couldn't get a reservation at Founding Fathers, we were happy to get a table at their sister restaurant: Farmers Fishers Bakers. They offer a very eclectic menu and everything looked great! There were no complaints from any of the surrounding tables. We starting with a Bread & Broth appetizer - fresh ciabatta bread toasted accompanied by 3 dipping sauces. OMG!! total comfort food! I had the kale salad with a crab cake and my husband had the cioppino. the salad was dressed perfectly - very light & refreshing - & the crab cake was all crab. hardly any filler. just the way they should be! the cioppino was also excellent - the tomato based broth was heavenly. no room for dessert….but they looked amazing as well!

Made reservation over a week in advance - requested a booth. Showed up early. Girl who could not be bothered told me booths are not guaranteed - no interest in why it was important or solving the problem. Walked next door and seated immediately. Tried to call to cancel reservation at Farmers and couldn't get a live person on the line. Gave up.

The restaurant has a great concept but executes it poorly. The menu is exciting, but the food and drinks were mediocre at best. The crab dip was almost all cream, but the salad was excellent. I was mainly disappointed with the service. It took more than 20 minutes for the check. Also, I ordered two drinks. First, a "dealers choice" (menu option) and only I specified that I wanted a drink with the "famous toasted coconut milk" (as noted in the menu) without added syrups- the server brought me a grapefruit crush ($14). The next time I asked for coffee with the coconut milk and whiskey - he brought me whiskey with whipped cream in a mug ($12). I had to make a movie and didn't have time to contest the charges, but disappointed.

Our server was absolutely horrible. He was pretty nice but he wasn't knowledgeable about the menu. Having worked in food service for almost a decade I understand not being 100% on everything but basic questions were answered incorrectly (Is there seafood in this? Can I have a non pork option? Is there a vegetarian menu? Is this drink blended?). Additionally he overcharged us and the manager had to refund us the money. I don't think I'd go back unless I could be completely certain that I wouldn't have to pay for my food and that I would have a great server. Finally, there's a hipster-esque vibe that can be hit or miss. The food was fine (I recommend the chocolate cake for dessert) but bad service really makes a huge difference for me.

While I didn't realize the restaurant only serves a fixed Brunch buffet from 9:00 a.m. - 2>00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for $30.00 the foo was delicious. The restaurant has a great vibe and was packed. We received very good service. It's a wonderful spot to take out-of-town guests.

I love taking visitors here for the brunch! It always impresses. Everyone will find something incredible to eat. I'm vegetarian and there are tons of options, and of course, meat-eaters are well catered to as well. The only downside is that you will want everything and you just won't be able to pull it off. Great options and I love the roving service. Our out-of-town guest was over the moon about the bloody Mary.

Had a reservation for 7:45, and didn't get seated until 8:15, but they gave us a free app in exchange which made up for that. Several people brought our food, but the waiter had a lot of tables and didn't come back to ask if we wanted another drink or give us more silverware when the other ones were taken with the app plates. However, the waiter was very nice, and knowledgeable about the food, and the food came fast. The food was terrific. The pretzels were super good, the lemonade fish was delicious, the scallop ceviche was okay, the pizza was so so, the onion rings were great, and the tuna tacos were the best! Would recommend coming back here when the ice skating is happening outside.

This was my third brunch at FFB. Each time there have been different items on the buffet. As someone who enjoys trying different dishes it may be helpful to have cards naming the dish. For example I thought I was eating pears, my friend said it could be jicama so we asked the server and said he was told they were pears. They looked like pears but didn't really taste like pears so I still don't know what I was eating. The tables are a bit too close together as diners trying to ease their way in between tables bumped food items on our table. It was a little awkward and made one young lady self conscious trying not to bump our table.

Out waitress was amazing and made sure that we enjoyed everything from our drinks to our food. I had ordered a drink and did not like it and had it remade and she made it no problem at all. I ended up not liking the second drink as well but didn't want to bother her again. When we had left the manager came out looking for us to tell me that I didn't need to pay for the drink if I didn't like it and gave me $15 gift certificate so I could come back and get something I liked. He didn't have to come out after we had left to tell me this and his gesture was very noble. I am very happy with the service here and would recommend it to anyone.

Enjoyed dinner here with 2 friends when in town for business. Interesting cocktail menu and the Missionary's Revenge was fabulous! Lots of choice on the menu, I had the shaved cauliflower and pear salad with a crab cake. The salad was masterful, very tasty. The crabcake was good, but a little cold by the time it arrived. Our server was outstanding, there when we needed her but not pushy. She recommended a great dessert (7 layer cake floating in chocolate sauce!) that we shared for dessert. Altogether a fun time, good for groups.
